LIVING LARGE

Judges 18:9-10

And they said, Arise, that we may go up against them: for we have seen the land, and, behold, it is very good: and are ye still? be not slothful to go, and to enter to possess the land.

When ye go, ye shall come unto a people secure, and to a large land: for God hath given it into your hands; a place where there is no want of any thing that is in the earth.

God wants His children to live large! But we must be willing to rise up and go get what He has already given to us. The things God has provided for us are worth the effort. The scripture says to not be slothful. Well that word slothful means don’t be lazy. Laziness is a deadly hindrance to our destiny. It will pickpocket your divine vision and steal your dreams.

Laziness defined

• Unwilling to do any work or make an effort

• Moving slow

We must arm ourselves against this enemy of our faith and destiny. You must never allow your will to oppose God’s will for your life. Don’t argue and resist God’s plans and purposes for your life by being lazy or complaining about focusing on your inabilities. Make an effort to get up and go where He wants you to go. Get excited about things He has called you to do and then do them with the right attitude. Enter into your land of promise with the intent to take over. This is not a time to window shop, it’s time to possess. God is extravagant; don’t limit your land to a small square foot. It’s a large land. Let God stretch your imagination and boost your expectation through meditation and supernatural insight. Be ready to see with your heart the things God reveals to you. Believe and Receive! God has a place for you where there is no want or lack of anything that is in the earth. He is our Shepherd we shall not want!

So rise up and live large today!

IMPENETRABLE PROTECTION

The world oftentimes conditions people to think that a thief can break in anywhere, locked or unlocked. Movies and news media, etc, propagate; helplessness and fear in the arena of thieves. They say, lock all your doors and windows and don’t forget the security alarms but then they show you pictures of thieves who know how to breakthrough every device known to man. What kind of confidence and assurance would that bring to the average on-looker.

Now, don’t get me wrong, I am not an advocate for shabby, happy-go-lucky living. You should use wisdom and protect what belongs to you. You should use locks and so forth, without fear. Fear assist demonic breakthrough. We should never do anything out of fear. God has not given us a spirit of fear but a spirit of power, love and a sound (well-disciplined) mind.

Thief defined:

• One that steals especially stealthily or secretly.

To steal is to take something that belongs to somebody else, illegally or without the owner’s permission. If you give them permission they did not steal it… right. But what if you leave the door unlocked through neglect and somebody came in and took something without your permission does that still make them a thief. Of course it does, because you did not give them permission to have whatever they took.

Now the kingdoms of this world view thieves differently than the Kingdom of God. Sometimes as Christians we need to re-evaluate our thinking and find out, “Who told you that.”

The world’s system of protection is not fail proof like the Kingdom of God protection because in the world system human beings are the one’s making the locks. Therefore, there is always someone who knows how to open or jimmy the device. Thieves are crafty and work stealthily to take what doesn’t belong to them. They plan, plot and strategize sometimes for days, weeks, or months to steal your valuables. They study different locks and do their homework on various methods and approaches to rip you off. They are focused and diligent in their pursuit of the merchandise they want, they value it sometimes more than you do and it shows through their persistent effort to get it from you.

Jesus said:

Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal Matthew 6:19-20.

Notice Jesus said thieves’ breakthrough and steal here on earth, which represents this natural world. However, He then said thieves cannot breakthrough and still in heaven, which represents God’s supernatural eternal Kingdom. Now we know from the scripture that the Kingdom of God is within us, Luke 17:21.

The devil has no legal right to anything in God’s Kingdom. Therefore if he takes something from you, you gave him permission, directly or indirectly. The devil doesn’t have the keys to get through barriers of pray or the power of the blood of Jesus or the angels of God around about you or the Word of God that you release by faith. We don’t ever have to sit around in fear wondering when the devil is going to breakthrough our spiritual lock or decipher the divine protection code in our lives. Satan cannot just do whatever he desires anytime he wants to when JESUS IS LORD of your life.

Fear not, be at peace and rest because you are blessed and fully protected!

E-MAIL (E-TERNAL MAIL)

Eternal defined:

• lasting for all time without beginning or end

 You have mail! Eternal -mail.

There are messages from God to you that you need to open. God has direction, correction, instruction, strategies, ideas, comfort, encouragement and the list goes on and on.

Revelations 2:29

It is vital that you open your e-mail daily. Don’t just let His messages to you sit in your inbox for weeks on end. Wake up every morning with great enthusiasm and delight as you log in, through worship, praise and studying His Word.

REMEMBERING HIS TRIUMPH

Hebrews 12:2-4

Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. For consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds. Ye have not yet resisted unto blood, striving against sin.

The next time you think that your problems and situations in life are unfair and unbearable, consider Jesus.

Such a wonderful example of true love and endurance. Every time I remember His sacrifice and what He did for us, it brings great joy, humility and an abundance of thankfulness.

Let us honor Him this passover by forgetting our troubles and rejoicing in His truimph!

VOICES AND CHOICES

John 10:4-5

And when he putteth forth his own sheep, he goeth before them, and the sheep follow him: for they know his voice. And a stranger will they not follow, but will flee from him: for they know not the voice of strangers.

The Bible says, that there are so many kinds of voices in the world, and none of them is without signification (1Corinthians 14:10).

God is not expecting you to listen to every voice in the earth and follow it. He made it simple for us. Jesus said my sheep hear my voice and they follow me. This makes our choices easier. When we receive instruction from God we don’t have to think twice about rather we will follow His instructions or someone else’s; our answer should always be, yes, Lord I’ll obey you.

Too many choices sometimes bring confusion to the hearer. We sometimes go through life asking everyone for their opinion about our situation and never stop to ask the one who knows; God.

Jesus said as His sheep we would flee from the voice of strangers because we know not their voice. Any voice that does not agree with God and His word should be considered strange and God has given us permission to flee from it. God is the only one who will go before us and always lead us in the right direction. So as the voices of this world clamor for your attention be confident and know that the Good Shepherd has all the instruction and direction you need for a safe journey through this earth; follow Him.

WHAT NOT TO WEAR

Romans 13:14

But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof.

There are certain things Christians should not wear. We must dress for success. I am speaking of our spiritual garments not a dress you buy at Macy’s.

We must dress everyday for victory. The scripture says, “Put on the Lord Jesus”. Everything Jesus represents and is, should be in and on us.

We must on purpose strip off wrong, harmful attitudes and behaviors. We must refuse to wear the garment of division and strife. We must never enter the store of worldly lust with the intent to buy or sell. We must never borrow clothes of offense.

In the fashion world, some colors or patterns don’t match. We cannot wear some garments of the flesh and some of the spirit, they clash.

Before you leave the house, look in the spiritual mirror, the Bible. The Bible is our perfect standard and guide book for, WHAT NOT TO WEAR.

Put on love, gentleness, self-control, peace, and joy. Slip on the sweater on faithfulness. Put on your hat of truth. Look at you, you’re looking good now. Walk with confidence, you’ve got the look, the look of victory and triumph! Go ahead and make the devil mad as you step with pep in your new inner and outer wear.

If you are fashion illiterate, seek the Helper (The Holy Spirit) today. He will help you wear what pleases the Father.

There is no limit to your account, go ahead splurge, God’s got the tab.

SLACK…THE THIEF OF DIVINE INHERITANCES

Joshua 18:1-3

And the whole congregation of the children of Israel assembled together at Shiloh, and set up the tabernacle of the congregation there. And the land was subdued before them. And there remained among the children of Israel seven tribes, which had not yet received their inheritance. And Joshua said unto the children of Israel, How long are ye slack to go to possess the land, which the LORD God of your fathers hath given you?

Slack is a doorway to lack. Lack is a close companion of sorrow and regret.

Slack defined:

• To be lazy, avoid work, or work with insufficient vigor or concentration.

• To neglect something such as duty, or leave something undone.

God had already given Israel a wonderful inheritance. God not only told them about their inheritance, He also showed it to them. God wanted His people to live in and enjoy the blessing of their inheritance all the days of their lives on this earth but they were slack. They knew it was available and real, they just made little or no effort to go possess it. They probably talked about it all the time like most Christians talk about what the Bible says belongs to them however they did not possess it. Knowing something belongs to you but lacking the diligence to go get it is tragic.

There were 12 tribes of the children of Israel but only 5 of the 12 had actually possessed the land of promise God had given them. Joshua asked them a very vital question that should have initiated self-examination. “How long are you slack to go possess the land?” Today, I would say it like this, “How long are you going to just sit there and be lazy? When are you going to rise up and obtain all that God has for you?”

Ephesians 2: 10

For we are God’s [own] handiwork (His workmanship), recreated in Christ Jesus, [born anew] that we may do those good works which God predestined (planned beforehand) for us [taking paths which He prepared ahead of time], that we should walk in them [living the good life which He prearranged and made ready for us to live].

God has an awesome plan for your life but you must cast off slack and get down to business. Our time here on the earth is short; we must be about our Father’s business. We must be sober and vigilant, refusing to be distracted by Satan’s devices that rob and steal destinies and dreams. We must resist the temptation to be idle, sluggish, bored and indifferent with our inheritance and the work of God. It is time to stand tall and be strong in the Lord, laying aside every weight and the sin that comes to beset and stop divine progress. The word beset means to harass or trouble somebody or something continually. Therefore we must put an immediate stop to slack in our lives. It is time to grow up and stop acting like immature children and mere unchanged men; gossiping and complaining, then free-loading on other people’s faith.

Slack is a work of the flesh. The flesh is an enemy of God.

Your life is precious, vital and strategic to the plan of God and the Body of Christ. We need each other to be all that God has called us to be and do. It was not enough that only 5 tribes of Israel had possessed their inheritance, God wanted them all to go into the promise land. God wants the whole Body of Christ to inherit and walk in all that He has given us. Come on, let us rise up and possess the whole land!

FINISH STRONG

Many things in life can drain you of physical and spiritual strength if you allow them the opportunity. There is an enemy of your soul who seeks your demise; there are no ifs, ands or buts’ about that statement. He will stop at nothing to suffocate your dreams and abort your God given destiny and purpose. However, you must do your part to stay strong in the Lord and in the power of His might by putting on the full armor of God.

Let’s go deeper. Come on let’s uncover and exterminate the enemies’ strategies to make null and void the strength of the Almighty in your life.

Have you ever been in a hot place? I mean a place so hot it was difficult to take a deep breath. Direct heat can be very exhausting on the physical body. It can drain you of strength necessary to complete your daily task. Certain outside temperatures can cause the body to become so hot that it begins to lose vital electrolytes and body fluids causing a person to have blurred vision, mental confusion, physical weakness, lethargy, muscle spasms and more. If no intervention is taken to remove the heat source and reverse its effects the person can end up in a critical life or death situation.

If we compare this same scenario to the spiritual life of a believer we can begin to see some similarities. John 10:10 reminds us that, Satan comes to steal, kill and destroy. Whenever he has opportunity he will turn up the heat in your life with the intent to drain you of spiritual strength, blur your spiritual vision and try to cause question or confusion concerning the direction in which God would have you take. Heat or fire is one of his strategies to try to make you doubt the Word of God and withdraw from the good fight of faith. Heat often can produce a feeling of suffocation or a lack of good air exchange which can cause panic.

Suffocate defined:

• To feel uncomfortable through excessive heat and lack of fresh air, or make somebody feel uncomfortable in this way.

• To confine and restrict somebody or something with adverse effects, or be or feel confined and restricted in development or self-expression.

The enemies purpose in this is to restrict, confine and enslave you so that your spiritual growth and development will be crippled.

Jesus revealed Satan’s plot concerning Peter’s destiny, “Simon, Simon (Peter), listen! Satan has asked excessively that [all of] you be given up to him [out of the power and keeping of God], that he might sift [all of] you like grain,”Luke 22:31

It is very obvious from this scripture that the enemies desire for man-kind is to cause destruction and mayhem.

However, John 10:10, also reveals to us that Jesus came that we might have life and have it more abundantly. If you are wondering why the word might is present in that verse it is because you have a part to play. God needs your cooperation in order for you to live a victorious abundant life. God’s plan for your life is that you finish your course and finish it strong! Gird up the loins of your mind. Put on the full armor of God. You are a child of God. You are more than a Conqueror. Pick up the slack, tell the devil to pack, get off your property and don’t come back. WE ARE THE BODY OF CHRIST! WE ARE THE CHURCH OF THE LIVING GOD! Lift your head, square your shoulders; focus your sight and purpose in your heart to MARCH ON and FINISH STRONG!

STOP YOU’RE UNDER ARREST

Have you ever seen one of those old western movies on TV or police series from the 1980’s, whenever they arrested someone, they first commanded the person to stop, then drop their weapon, and then lift their hands up in the air to indicate total surrender. This person had been apprehended and was now taken in for questioning.

 Arrest defined:

• to seize or detain something by legal authority

• to stop or slow something

• to suddenly capture and hold something, especially somebody’s attention

Did you not know God has the legal right to arrest His people? When we give our lives to Christ, we legally belong to Him, not as a slave but as free.

 1Corinthians 19-20

What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.

Because God purchased us He has a right to arrest us when we are possessin’ or packin’ things on or in our person that would be harmful or dangerous to others and ourselves. God has a legal right to seize you when you are carrying cares or worrying about what tomorrow may bring. He has a right to say, “Stop, in the name of the Lord, drop that care, put your hands up in the air and surrender!

He has a right to stop you or slow you down when you are spiritually, so to speak, driving wrecklessly at dangerously high speeds through the highways of life, with no direction or revelation of your God given purpose. When you are making repeated wrong decisions from your human reasoning or livng life in the flesh and not in the spirit, you need to be apprehended. God has a right to say, “Stop, pull over, you’re out of control, this car will be impounded for the next 30 days.”

Aren’t you glad for Divine interruptions? Many times through the preaching and teaching of the Word of God or through mere personal bible study and meditation, God has arrested me for my own good and safety.

All arrest aren’t bad, even in the natural, they sometimes save lives from the immature and destructive behaviors of others. Many police officers have pulled over drunken drivers because they were swerving in and out of their lanes. A night spent in jail for them probably saved their life and the lives of many others.

God loves you and wants the best for you. He is Father and watches over us affectionately. In order for us to arrive safely at our Divine Destinies we must continue to give God our undivided attention. Our lives and futures are important to God so don’t live life wrecklessly; without aim or direction. We must seek to lay hold of the thing for which Christ apprehended us for.

It’s time to grow up, stand up and take our rightful place as the mature sons of God. Stay on track, pick-up the slack, and don’t even think about lookin back!

Stay watchful, Stay alert, Drive safely………………Pay attention!

And let us not be offended when we have been spiritually rear ended but let us realize the driver was probably not paying attention.

LOVE THAT LASTS (Love Feast Day #14)

1 Corinthians 13:13

And so faith, hope, love abide [faith–conviction and belief respecting man’s relation to God and divine things; hope–joyful and confident expectation of eternal salvation; love–true affection for God and man, growing out of God’s love for and in us], these three; but the greatest of these is love.

LOVE FEAST DAY #14.

Oh my, what an awesome journey in love. Fourteen days of saturation and maturation in the love of God. We are moving up and flowing out totally consumed by God’s unfailing love working in us and through us. God’s love is bearing luscious fruit in our lives, the kind of fruit that shall remain and bring glory and honor to the Name that is above every name………….JESUS!

Don’t you just love being a person of love? Even though today is our last day of the LOVE FEAST, I know that you are addicted to love by now. I have full confidence that you will continue until Jesus returns, to exercise your faith concerning love and to love God and man and grow in love.

Today our love verse takes us to the finale’ of 14 days of sheer pleasure. Verse 13 reveals to us that three things abide: faith, hope and love. However the writer went on to say but the greatest of these three powers is love. No matter how strong or big our faith, no matter how great our hope without love they are nothing. The love of God is the foundation that holds everything else together. Without a strong foundation no house can stand, even against the smallest of storms. Love is vital. Love is life.

The love of God that is growing in you will never leave you or forsake you. It will never fail you. It will never betray you. It will never stand against as if to resist you in an effort to hinder your progress. Love is never selfish or lazy. It will never leave your mind hazy or make you go crazy. Love will be with you always even to the end.

Love will out live time and space. Love will be with you when you enter the final day of your earthly race. Love will prove itself true to you in every situation and circumstance. Love will advance the plan of God in your life and will propel you forward without vice or price. The love of God will treat you nice!

Enjoy this love everyday and purpose in your heart not to allow one day go by without yielding to it in some way. This love is true love. It is Love that Lasts !!
