FACE TO FACE (Love Feast Day #13)

1Corinthians 13:12

For now we are looking in a mirror that gives only a dim (blurred) reflection [of reality as in a riddle or enigma], but then [when perfection comes] we shall see in reality and face to face! Now I know in part (imperfectly), but then I shall know and understand fully and clearly, even in the same manner as I have been fully and clearly known and understood [by God].

LOVE FEAST DAY #13.

Today we focus on yet again imperfect knowledge. Remember it is neither God nor His Word that are imperfect, it is our understanding. There is nothing imperfect about God. He is perfect and pure, through and through. He is Light and in Him there is no darkness at all.

We have spoken an extensive degree on this subject over the last few verses so today let us reflect, absorb and do what we have heard. It’s not enough for us to learn and meditate but we must put God’s Word to practice.

Let us focus on the perfect one which is God. He is our standard, not frail human flesh. Let us see ourselves complete in Him. In Him we lack nothing because He is our Shepherd; we shall not want or lack anything. The things that God has chosen to reveal to us are precious and sufficient for us. Let us thank Him for our food, our manna, our daily bread. The table of the Lord is loaded with all that we have need of and more.

One day we will see Him face to face. What a glorious day that will be. The scripture tells us in 1 John 3:1-2 (AMP)

SEE WHAT [[a]an incredible] quality of love the Father has given (shown, bestowed on) us, that we should [be permitted to] be named and called and counted the children of God! And so we are! The reason that the world does not know (recognize, acknowledge) us is that it does not know (recognize, acknowledge) Him.

Beloved, we are [even here and] now God’s children; it is not yet disclosed (made clear) what we shall be [hereafter], but we know that when He comes and is manifested, we shall [[b]as God’s children] resemble and be like Him, for we shall see Him [c]just as He [really] is.

That is indeed our spiritual quest…to resemble and be lke Him.

Resemble defined:

  • To be similar to somebody or something in appearance or behavior.

It can be so easy sometimes to fall backwards and try to identify with the humanness of man’s being. This kind of identifying will always lead us to making excuses for inabilities instead of looking to God’s grace and supernatural help. The cry to be common or just mere men is present daily in this world’s atmosphere and influences. Resembling and being like God is a journey not an impossiblity. There are many qualities about God that we see in His Word that may appear intimidating and far reaching to the natural mind. Sometimes we may see ourselves far from ever being like God. However, God had a purpose in telling us to be like Him. God was not trying to make fun of us when He said be ye holy for I am Holy. God is not trying to shame us at the end of our destinies here in the earth. God loves us and He has full confidence in His Word and His Spirit to complete the work He has started in us. However, we only know in part, we don’t know exactly how God will do what He said He will do but we trust Him and He is always true to His Word. If I tried to contemplate and figure out how God will work in me to perform this miraculous transformation I would become frustrated and discouraged because in and of myself I don’t see it but God knows it to be true.

So, let’s just settle down and rest in His infinite wisdom and ability. Stop trying to figure everything out in your own my or according to some other human experience, we are His workmanship.

Let’s allow the Master Craftsman do what only He can do and what the results come shining through! He will noy share His glory with another…to God Be The Glory!!!! Forever and Ever Amen.

How Old Are You Really? (Love Feast Day #12)

1 Corinthians 13:11

When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things. .

LOVE FEAST day #11, simply heaven……on earth!

HAPPY VALENTINE’S DAY TO ALL YOU LOVER’S OUT THERE!!

I love the verse of scripture that we are meditating on today. Oh my I teach/preach on it a lot.

Putting away childish things is a great indicator of spiritual growth and development. As we read this verse of scripture one can see the progression and procession of growth, from a child to a man/adult. You can clearly see how this doesn’t happen overnight. Our natural bodies were created by God. We were fearfully and wonderfully made by His Mighty Meticulous Hand. God “showed out” so to speak when He made man, wonderful are the works of His hand and that my soul knows quite well. He is truly an awesome Creator.

Children are precious; they are so full of life and energy. They are innocent little spirits waiting to be filled. They love to learn and try new things, always watching and downloading information from their surroundings. A child reaching full maturity one day, has a lot to do with the different influences in their live’s. Sometimes people are stunted in the growth process because of disease or abuse/neglect. They had the potential and genetic make up to be 6’5” but only reached 4’10 because of improper nutrition or being exposed or coming in contact with toxic agents in their environment. Potential doesn’t always produce the whole package of goods. Children are miniature adults who have not grown into their potential. It is always a horrific sight to see a person with growth retardation. Their lives just seem to be frozen or suspended in one phase of life. Spiritual retardation is very similar. Have you ever seen a person who has been a Christian for 20 plus years but yet spiritually their lives emulate someone who is just a babe in Christ?

They talk like a child, they think like a child, and they act like a child. In their own eyes they think they are mature because of the years but in reality somewhere along the way their spiritual growth and development was interrupted and corrupted. Our spiritual diet has a lot to do with our growth and development. If you feed on the wrong things it will produce wrong results. If you feed on right things you get right results.

The scripture tells us, “Like newborn babies you should crave (thirst for, earnestly desire) the pure (unadulterated) spiritual milk, that by it you may be nurtured and grow unto [completed] salvation, (1Peter 2:2 AMP).

I like that, don’t you? The word unadulterated means: not mixed or diluted with something else, untainted, untouched, and unmodified.

Can you imagine the harm a mother would bring to her newborn baby if she diluted the milk or mixed it with alcohol or other toxic substance? The baby would have devastating physical consequences. How much more if we receive diluted or tainted spiritual food? God’s will for every believer is that we grow and flourish. The Father wants us all to experience the proper growth and development so that we can reach full maturity and finish our Divine Destinies.

If you examined the words that come forth from your mouth on a daily bases do they sound like the spiritual vocabulary of a 2 year old? Now if you are a baby Christian that’s fine, you are where you are by the grace of God and as you continue to hunger and thirst after God you will be filled so that you can be nurtured and grow. However, if you have been saved and living a Christian life for many years you should have made some notable progress by now. What do your thoughts sound like? If we were to put a spiritual microphone up to your mind, what would we hear? How do you act when under pressure or persecution? Do you throw spiritual temper tantrums or do you display the love and peace of God? Are the works of the flesh still more a part of your life than the fruit of the spirit?

My friend if this describes your current spiritual condition please don’t get offended and run and hide. God loves you and desires to see you enjoy the abundant life. Many times the only thing we need to do to get back on track is make a few adjustments in our daily walk with God. Once you get in the flow again you will begin to see supernatural growth spurts in no time. Don’t allow Satan to frustrate your purpose by getting up-set every time you hear a word of correction or instruction for your life. It’s time to man-up/woman-up… you know what I mean :).

When I was a child certain behavior was tolerated and expected but when I became an adult the same behavior became repulsive. There’s nothing wrong about being a baby, actually babies are a joy to any life both spiritually and naturally but there comes a time when we all must grow up.

Romans 8:19

For [even the whole] creation (all nature) waits expectantly and longs earnestly for God’s sons to be made known [waits for the revealing, the disclosing of their sonship].

SEASONS CHANGE BUT LOVE REMAINS THE SAME (Love Feast Day #11)

1 Corinthians 13:10

But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away.

Love Feast day #10.

Hello my friend, you are a winner! Your diligence and steadfast love for the Father is admirable. You are growing and abounding in Love which most certainly makes the Father smile. Love is working in you now. Love is working for you now. Praise God your love life is taking you places! You will never be the same again. Get ready my friend to experience great heights in faith because faith works by the love of God. Faith pleases God and God’s love never fails……. woo, woo……… how good is that my friend!

Today our love feast scripture continues to enlighten us on the perfect versus the imperfect or partial. It is God’s will that we some day reach perfection.

“…that ye may stand perfect and complete in all the will of God.” Colossians 4:12

But this is a process not an overnight success. We must be disciplined to continue on the road God has us on until we reach our journeys end. Remember, Job 8:7, “Though thy beginning was small, yet thy latter end should greatly increase.”

From today’s verse of scripture we do learn that there will be things that will be done away with, meaning we will not need them anymore. However, we will continue to need them until that day. This scripture is not meant for us to begin to devalue the things that will be done away with but to understand their place in the whole scheme of things. Just because it is only in part right now doesn’t mean it is not valuable, it is only necessary for a time and a season. We must learn to thank God for things that are only seasonal. Seasons change but the word of God remains the same. If something is just for a season of life then we have to appreciate the time we had it and then move on to what’s next. God has the full plan and we must trust His wisdom and guidance to do whatever He wants to do. Jesus said, not my will but thy will be done, why, because He totally trusted the Father. He was not afraid to let God’s will be done. He knew that whatever the Father wanted to do it would be good no matter what it looked like at the onset. There are certain details about the plan of God for our own lives that we may not know at certain times but just know that God will reveal to us what we need to know when we need to know it, Hallelujah! God’s plan is perfect and we can rest assure that He will not fail. However, not only is God’s plan perfect but He also wants to make you perfect or complete in that plan. Listen to Hebrews 13:21:

Make you perfect in every good work to do his will, working in you that which is wellpleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ; to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.

Let us have an expectation for perfection in our lives, why, because that’s the will of God for you and me!

The word perfection generally denotes maturity. It is a measuring tool to help us have a goal or a destination to reach. God wants us to grow and grow and grow. Proper spiritual growth and development will only occur when the main ingredient is love, otherwise, there is spiritual retardation or handicaps. God’s will is that we be made perfect and complete.

So as the seasons of your life change remember, love remains the same.

WE ARE COMPLETE IN LOVE (Love Feast Day # 10)

1 Corinthians 13:10 (AMP)

But when the complete and perfect (total) comes, the incomplete and imperfect will vanish away (become antiquated, void, and superseded).

LOVE FEAST day #10.

Welcome all you lovers! I know that one thing is for sure, God’s word is true and it is powerful. These verses of scripture in 1 Corinthians 13 are life changing; they possess the power of life, the God kind of life. God’s word will produce good fruit that will bring glory to His Name!

Today our love verse connects with our verse on Saturday, verse #9. We only know in part, we are not know it all’s but we do know the one who does know all things. God desires that we trust Him in all things and that we become confident in His love, knowing that He will never withhold revelation from us when we need it. The scripture says in the book of James1:5 (AMP):

If any of you is deficient in wisdom, let him ask of the giving God [Who gives] to everyone liberally and ungrudgingly, without reproaching or faultfinding, and it will be given him.

God is a giving God. He is not indifferent to our needs here on the earth. Nor does He require us to beg Him and plead as if He is reluctant to bless us. God is our Father. He is our Creator. He loves us with an everlasting, unfailing, unconditional love. Just because the scripture above says our knowledge is imperfect doesn’t mean God’s is imperfect, we are human He is Divine. God is always willing to open to us His good treasure of thoughts and ways and impart to us all that we need and hunger for. Psalms 84:11 declares:

For the LORD God is a sun and shield: the LORD will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly.

God will with-hold no good thing from us, Hallelujah! We can know things that we didn’t know before. The Holy Spirit is here to teach us and guide us. God has not short-changed us, He has lavishly blessed us. One word from God totally supersedes the highest human intellectuals in the world. God said in Isaiah 55:8-9:

For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.

We can always have access to the things we need to know and those things that we don’t need to know, just let it alone. Before Jesus went back to the Father in Heaven one of the disciples asked Him a question about the future and Jesus replied:

… It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power. (Acts 1:7

However He then proceeded to tell them the things they did need to know. We must be content to know that God knows what we need to know and that He will reveal them to us as we seek to know His thoughts and His ways.God is Love and that Love makes us whole. We are complete in Him!

YOU’RE NOT A KNOW-IT-ALL (Love Feast Day #9)

1 Corinthians 13:9

For we know in part, and we prophesy in part.

LOVE FEAST, day #8

Welcome to day #8 of the LOVE FEAST. It is a joy to focus on God and His Kingdom. The world is so dark and contrary to the light of God. We must stay alert and strong in Christ, choosing the ways and knowledge of God over the ways of this world. Love keeps us steady and God conscious.

Many people are hazed by the smoke of deception and ignorant delusions of the enemy. The word haze refers to something that is vague and serves to obscure something. When a person is hazed there is a disorienting of mental and physical faculties. The devil is a hazer. He seeks to bring persecution into someone’s life to cloud or obscure their vision or God given purpose, in an attempt to gain control and bring the person under subordination to demonic strongholds. Love neutralizes the smoke and lifts it up out of the way so that you can see to go forward in all truth.

Neutralize defined:

• To make something ineffective, especially by removing its ability to act as a threat or obstacle.

Love neutralizes the threat of the smoke. You know when you are in a room full of smoke one of the things it does is affect your eye sight, the smoke will begin to burn or irritate your eyes, this in turn will obscure your vision. However it is not the will of God that your sight physical or spiritual be hazed. God wants us to have clear: understanding, purpose, vision, direction, perception etc. through Divine insight and revelation by the Holy Spirit.

Our Love Feast verse today teaches us that we know in part but that doesn’t mean we will not know what we need to know in order to fulfill everything God has called us to do and to live a victorious Christian life here on the earth. I don’t know about you but I don’t want to know what God doesn’t want me to know. God told Adam and Eve not to eat or partake of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, evidently He didn’t want them to have that knowledge. We must learn to be satisfied with what God gives us and not feel cheated with what He says don’t eat. God will never keep anything from us that we need to succeed; He is for us not against us. However there are something’s that we will only know in part. But we don’t need to know everything because we have the one who does know everything living right on the inside of us, we can trust Him. God will always reveal to us what we need to know when we need to know it. Don’t frustrate your purpose by focusing on things unknown to you today, God will never leave you with HELP! The Holy Spirit is our Comforter, He will always be with us to guide us and reveal truth to us. He Knows IT All.

LOVE NEVER FAILS (Love Feast Day #8)

1 Corinthians 13:8

Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away.

LOVE FEAST day #8.

It’s so refreshing to our whole man (spirit, soul and body) to receive love manna from Heaven. It is like a cleansing rain that gently waters every fiber of our being until it is pleasantly saturated and overflowing like a river. I believe this makes the Father smile.

Today is day #8 of our LOVE FEAST and it sure is wonderful. Charity or love never fails, my oh my, we could talk about that for a long time. I am sure that most Christian’s bear personal testimony of the unfailing love of God. The bible reminds us in the book of Hebrews that even when we are not faithful to God, God (or we can stay Love) is always faithful to us. God is always faithful not to fail us.

Fail defined:

• To be unsuccessful in trying to do something.

• To be incapable of doing something or unwilling to do it.

• To abandon, forsake, or let somebody down by not doing what is expected or needed.

As you can see from those definitions the word fail does not fit anywhere in God’s character or nature. God doesn’t even know how to fail. He is perfect in every way. Love is never unwilling or incapable of doing anything from God’s word and righteous nature for us. However, Love will never violate God’s word, it will never do anything contrary to God’s will or way. That’s why Love never fails.

Love never fails to be present for us every minute of the day. If you are facing what appears to be a difficult situation just know love will never let you down. Love will never leave you to face life alone. Love will never abandon you when you need it most. Love is never too busy to hear your hearts cry. Love will never helplessly turn its head as to say, “Sorry I can’t help you, this time.” Love will never pity you but rather stand passionately over you and see you to the other side in victory. Love is never indifferent to your dreams and visions. Love never fails.

ENJOY A LOVE BEAR HUG! (Love feast day #7)

1Corinthians 13:7

Love bears up under anything and everything that comes, is ever ready to believe the best of every person, its hopes are fadeless under all circumstances, and it endures everything [without weakening].

LOVE FEAST day #7.

You are well on your way to receive the out flow of the inward glow of love in your heart. There are benefits to growing in love that only God, Himself, can bestow. Money can’t buy it, titles and degrees can earn it, and darkness can’t stop it. Love is as valuable to a Christian as blood is to the human body, without it you die.

Our love verse for today is quite amazing, actually it is one of my all time favorites, and it has pulled me through a lot of tough times in my life. Love has supernatural strength, which can range from being calm and gentle to forcefully explosive. Love is not a weak, mushy, helpless feeling that endures for a season. Love is strong and endures long. Love bears up under anything and everything that comes, my, that is so refreshing. If you have had insecurities in your life that verse can and will knock them right out the box. That verse leaves no room for uncertainties. Love will always be there with you no matter what comes; it will never leave you nor forsake you. Not only is love with you but it is what bears you up.

Bear defined:

  • To protect or keep by covering, to preserve.
  • To cover over with silence.
  •  to keep secret
  •  to hide, conceal
  •  Of the errors and faults of others.
  • By covering to keep off something which threatens, to bear up against, hold out against, and so endure, bear, forbear.

This love can be looked at like a non-threatening big grizzly bear hug. The size of the grizzly bear is large compared to the average person and would quickly envelop even a huge macho man. Once you are in his arms nothing can harm or get to you. Love will preserve you from the corrupting poisons of your enemies. It will cover you underneath it’s wings and shield you from the sting of adversity.

HE WHO dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall remain stable and fixed under the shadow of the Almighty [Whose power no foe can withstand]. (Psalms 91:1 AMP)

Love will never reveal your faults to others, it covers you with silence. Love never weakens, it is a strong tower built upon unshakeable power that cannot be reckoned with.

Love is always the same, and nothing can loosen its hold on you.

Love believes the best of every person, now that’s supernatural. Believing the best of every person including your enemies or those who have wronged you is not of this world. It takes faith that works by love to believe the best of someone when the facts before you are saying, yes, they intentionally hurt you, yes they lied on you, yes they cheated on you, yes they betrayed you etc. This verse abiding in your heart will keep you out of the dark pit of offense. It will rescue you from the venomous bite of un-forgiveness. Believing the best of everyone requires tremendous loyalty to the Word of God. Believing the best of every person takes staying full of God’s Word and the Holy Spirit, without these two undefeatable powers actively working in our lives we will fail. When someone hurts or wrongs you, yielding to the love of God will keep you free and potentially set them free. When we choose not to retaliate (which is of the flesh or old sinful nature) but rather reciprocate love, we win!

Go ahead and enjoy your bear hug today, it will bring a refreshing strength and delight to your soul!

LOVE PREVAILS (Love Feast Day #6)

1Corinthians 13: 6

It does not rejoice at injustice and unrighteousness, but rejoices when right and truth prevail.

Love Feast, day #6.

Hey, hey, hey we are growing hooray!

I know if you have been faithful to meditate the verses of this chapter daily there is tremendous growth and refreshing in your spirit, soul and body. God loves for us to grow and develop in His love. God knows that the person who will seek to grow in His love will always love Him and love their neighbor, thus we live in continual victory. Victory is maintained in our lives by our obedience to love not by how many fights we win over the devil, he is already defeated.

Our love verse today speaks of injustice. Let us explore a little more about this word.

Injustice defined:

• Unfair or unjust treatment of somebody, or an instance of this.

Similar words to injustice are; unfairness, prejudice, inequality, bias, wrong and discrimination.

We are never to rejoice or celebrate unfairness or discrimination even if it’s you who are the one seemingly being favored in the situation. God’s favor does not work through injustice. Love rejoices when the truth and what is right prevails. It is right to do right, even if it seems wrong. We live in a day when people call wrong right and what’s right wrong. Well God is not like man, He is a just God.

This verse also speaks of rejoicing not at unrighteousness. The bible tells us that all unrighteousness is sin. To live a life of sin is to live a life totally separated from God. That is a very horrible place to be. There is nothing funny about sin. Sin is extremely destructive and deadly. It destroys marriages and families, it destroys hopes and dreams, it is a dark and unrelenting terror to the soul. Sin is not a game; it is death and total separation from God. We should not rejoice at unrighteous things. The word unrighteous implies sinful or evil. It is being out of fellowship with God. Oh my, what a dreadful existence. I know because I was once there; dead in trespasses and sins, separated from the life and covenant of God. Oh what misery and fear. The devil is full of darkness and wickedness, nothing he does or stands for is good. When his kingdom does something we are never to side with darkness, no matter who the devil uses to perform his evil deeds. We are light in the Lord, light is to have no union or fellowship with darkness. Rejoice not at unrighteousness. We are on the Lord’s side, which is love’s side.

We rejoice when love prevails! Love is truth.

NO DARKNESS AT ALL! (Love Feast Day #5)

1 Corinthians 13:5 (AMP)

It is not conceited (arrogant and inflated with pride); it is not rude (unmannerly) and does not act unbecomingly. Love (God’s love in us) does not insist on its own rights or its own way, for it is not self-seeking; it is not touchy or fretful or resentful; it takes no account of the evil done to it [it pays no attention to a suffered wrong].

 LOVE FEAST DAY #5.

We are making progress!

Love is good. Love is God. Making progress in love is a major step towards spiritual maturity. We cannot grow and flourish without love. Love is vital; we cannot live a life of faith without it.

Love is pure.

This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. 1John 1:5

Darkness defined:

  • The absence or lack of light.

There is no darkness in the Love of God. It is not tainted or corrupt. Human pride is dark. Pride is from the kingdom of darkness. There is no light in pride. Pride is destructive and full of deceptive qualities. Pride is evil and un-submissive to God; it flows from a rebellious nature.

Love is not rude. It acknowledges that you are there. Have you ever been around people who tried to act like they didn’t see you so they would not have to speak to you, well that’s rude and unmannerly. When we have respect of persons, that’s rude and unmannerly. Love is sensitive to the Holy Ghost to discern everything around it. Love values all people because all people were created by God.

Love is not selfish, always wanting things my way. It is not always pointing to me, myself and I. Love does not have to be the center of attraction every where it goes. It does not push itself to the front of the line in an effort to be seen and heard. The nature of love will always esteem others above itself. Love is never insecure in the midst of God working through others. Love will always rejoice when it sees others getting blessed.

Love is not touchy or moody, being up one day and down the next. Love does not retaliate or have a resentful attitude. Love does not worry or carry cares, it is free indeed.

Love does not rehearse the wrong/bad things that have happened to it. Love turns it head when wronged by others, it never holds a grudge. Love does not go around telling everyone, “But you don’t know what they did to me” it is uncontaminated by spiritual wounds and offences.

Love is good.

Love is God.

Love grows!

Continue to let God’s love work in you and develop in you so that you will soon look just like Jesus!

LET LOVE DETERMINE YOUR BOUNDARIES ! (Love Feast Day #4)

Love Feast:

13 days of pure indulgence on the subject of Love. The caterer is the Holy Ghost. The meals are free yet priceless. The results are endless. Remember to meditate, speak aloud and do your daily LOVE FEAST verse. Take hold of what it is saying to you. Squeeze out all the nutrients from it, like a juicer extracts juice from an orange. Go ahead drain it dry and every time you put it up to your mouth to partake of its substance you will find it replenished, hot and ready to flow again and again and again into your inner most being.

 Feast defined:

• An elaborate meal for many people that celebrates an occasion.

• Something that provides a great deal of pleasure.

1 Corinthians 13:4 (AMP)

Love endures long and is patient and kind; love never is envious nor boils over with jealousy, is not boastful or vainglorious, does not display itself haughtily.

God is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. There is no greater quest than to seek to know and grow in Love. God is Love. Your willingness and eagerness to go on this LOVE FEAST is an indication of your determination to please God by letting the love of God in your heart grow, permeate, penetrate and control every fiber of your being. You are on the right course; you are in the right lane, not the vain glory lane that leads to godless gain and pain. You are in the love lane that leads to eternal gain without strain as you rule and reign with Christ.

Today we will delve into our meal with hungry hearts and receptive minds and yielded bodies to receive our impartation and revelation of the Word of Love, by grace.

Day #4 of the LOVE FEAST unveils verse 4 of 1 Corinthians 13. This is a very strong and powerful verse spoken by Paul from the Holy Ghost and we so desperately need to take it to heart. Paul reveals to us that the Love of God, not human love, endures long and is patient and kind. Let’s look at those three elements of love before we proceed with the remainder of the verse.

Many times when I think of the word endure I think of going through hard or difficult situations without quitting the good things; like faith, joy, peace, positive word confessions etc. This includes taking a stand for what is righteous and godly and never backing down off what you believe. Love will always remain stalwart and victorious even when the temptation, test or trial is long gone. Love can not only outlast the devils attempts to defeat, kill, steal and destroy from you, it will bring you out with a shout! Love will never stop half way through the situation and say, “well I guess you’re on your own now, this is as far as I can go.” No, it will stick with you forever, even when you are not faithful, love abides faithfully at your side, making the devil step aside, keeping you from foolish pride as it guides you to certain victory!

Love is patient. The opposite of patient is impatient, which is the same as edgy, intolerant, annoyed and irritated. Patience is not just an acquired mental strength of learning how to courteously wait. The patience that Paul is referring to is a supernatural force that flows out of true love. It cannot be humanly bought or taught because its supplier is God. It is not of this world and should not be confused with human courtesy or etiquette. The bible tells us in the book of James to let patience have its perfect work in us. That tells us that patience has a job or a purpose. It has an assignment or a mandate in our lives.

Love is the originator of perfection, everything it touches it seeks to perfect. One of loves tools or instruments that it uses to help it achieve this perfection is patience. Look at it like this, Love is the surgeon and patience is his scalpel helping to cut away the unfruitful residual of our past that lie dormant in our mind, will, emotions and body waiting for the opportunity to rise up and rob us of our destiny. Patience will cut away every defect and imperfection of your soul, things like; attitudes, dysfunctional coping mechanisms, and faulty traditions of men, being irritable, intolerance, mood swings and many other insignificant things that keep us idle and unfruitful.

Let patience have her perfect work in you so that you may be perfect and complete lacking nothing. Once you have yielded to the work of patience it completes you, then whenever you are faced with a hardship or difficulty patience has already cut away everything that would have hindered the flow of love in you and through you. So part of growing in love is to be pruned by patience. When you are yielding to patience you are in love and everyone around you appreciates that.

The remaining part of verse 4 is pretty simple. Love is kind. It is not mean spirited or moody. It is not sharp tongued or snappy. Love is kind. When I think of kindness I think of compassion because it is not phony it is genuine. You don’t have to have the gift of discerning of spirit to know when someone doesn’t like you. It takes the love of God to root out, pull down and destroy mean attitudes of the flesh. People can fake it for awhile but then it starts creeping out of their pores; you can see it in their face even though they are smiling at you. Love is never envious or boils over with jealousy.

Wow, that is powerful, jealousy and envy are rottenness to the very bones of our flesh, and it is foul and more deadly than a serpents bite. It will strip a person of life and take them to the grave on an early flight. Be on your guard and don’t let it bite, keep it defeated under your feet and send its cousins gossip and slander to flight.

Love does not seek the honor or praise of men for it is not vainglorious. Love is not always thinking and talking about itself; it’s needs and it’s wants. Love is not big-headed and conceited, always bragging on self. We use to say these kinds of people were “full of it,” just absolutely full of themselves………look at me, look at what I’ve done, lookie, lookie, lookie I got a cookie…………..oops sorry I got carried away 🙂

Love is not full of pride or haughty. Love compliments others and is sincerely excited when they are blessed. Love is of the heart and can easily be perceived by people saved and unsaved. Many characteristics of love people try to emulate because it makes them look as though they are spiritually mature but the heart knows the genuine from the fake. I remember when I was a young girl not even living for God I could tell when people would treat you with genuine love or just putting on a show for the crowd or just for their own conscience. Love is consistently the same.

GOD IS LOVE ! YA!
