BE PREPARED TO WIN

Whenever you go into a battle go in with the intent to win. You must never entertain the thought of losing or defeat. Go into the battle prepared to win. God is a prepared God, He is always ready.

Prepared defined:
•ready to deal with something or made ready, beforehand.

To be unprepared is to be un-armed. To be un-armed is to proclaim your enemy the victor even before the battle begins. We must be fully persuaded that we can and will defeat the opposing forces. The bible commands us to gird up the loins of our minds, meaning you must be mentally prepared as well as spiritually. Your mind plays a vital part in your victory because it can sway your spirit to win or lose. If you have stinking thinking then you will negate the faith of your spirit and cause shipwreck of your course. God tells us in Romans 12:1-2, to renew our minds so that we can begin to think like Him. Gods thoughts are always filled with victory and triumph. You will never catch God thinking of defeat and failure. So as we begin to renew our minds and think like God we will think and speak victory. You are a winner, so always be prepared to win.

2Timothy 2:21

If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master’s use, and prepared unto every good work.

A PROMISE KEPT

God is a promise keeper. Whenever He says He will do a thing you best know He will come through and do what He said He will do. God is a covenant keeper. The word covenant means a solemn agreement that is binding on all parties. God will never forsake or negate His word but will always fulfill His part.

The bible declares in 2Timothy 3:1-5, that people would become lovers of themselves in the last days. Selfishness is the root of covenant breaking. When we see alerting divorce rates soaring high, this is a resort of selfishness. Selfishness is a work of the flesh, the lower sinful nature of man. The nature of sin was passed down to all man-kind from Adam after he was separated from God. The nature of sin was born out of hatred and evil, its father is Satan.

When we are born-again into the family of God, God gives us a new nature, the nature of Love. God is Love. The scripture says whatever is born of God overcomes the world. When we are living a life of love, there is no room in our heart for selfishness.

To be a covenant keeper we must live a life of love and selflessness. Love always believes the best of every person. Love always puts others before itself. Love always keeps its word because love is of God.

God promised us that He would Redeem man by sending His only Son to die for our sins…………and He did just what He said He would do.

God promised that He would never leave us nor forsake us……….and He never has and He never will.

God promised that He would one day send Jesus back to get His church……………………and He will.

God is a promise keeper.God does not just say things to gain our friendship or favor. He is faithful to His word. God has never spoken an idle word, He will always be true to you, and He cannot lie. God is a promise keeper, so whatever He has told you that He will do in your life, He will keep His promise……….always.

We are God’s children if we are born-again. We should look like our Father in every way. If you grow up in a home with a mother and father present the children begin to mimick their parents. The begin to talk like them and walk like them and think like them and act like them. We are born of God therefore we should look like Him and act like Him. God has never done or said anything that He would not want us to hear or see. He has always provided for us an example of excellence and holiness. He has always exemplied purity and self-control. He has always given us an example of faithfulness and honesty. We have never seen Him cheating or wrongly treating anyone. He has never spoken a vain, slanderous or corrupt word. His words are always pure. We have the best example to follow in our Father. He is my hero.

We too can be like our Father in being a promise keeper. I am honored to look just like my Heavenly DAD!

Numbers 23:19
God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?

BE TRUE TO YOURSELF

In a world that everything has become acceptable and blindly tolerable, you must decide and take a stand for what is permissible for you. Be true to yourself by choosing the only standard that will bring a favorable eternal outcome. Being true to yourself means being honest in your own heart. If you are not up to par in your walk with God then just admit it, make the adjustments and grow up and move forward. We all know it is miserable to be out of the will of God. Many times you can see the distress and void on people’s faces. They pretend to be having a good time (spiritually and naturally). They smile yet all the while they are kicking against the pricks of their God given destiny. They try to engage in vain amusements and mind cluttering activities so they won’t have to think about the sorrow and emptiness that press daily on their hearts.

Being true to one self means to stop the facade and get off the roller coaster of worldliness. It means getting down to business with you. It means pointing your own finger in your own face and saying stop, no more pretenses, it’s all or nothing, I chose to go forward.

Being true to yourself means staying with your decision to obey God no matter what anybody else chooses to do.

Being true to yourself means stepping back and letting God take the lead in your life. We can do nothing without God yet we can do all things through Him.

LOOK THEN LOOK AGAIN

Acts 17:11
These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.

Search defined:
• To discover, come to know, or find something by examination.

The above scriptures declare that it is right and honorable to search or examine the words of God. Not in a critical way of examining something but wanting to experience it for myself type of examination. We know that God can not lie so we are never to question what He says but Jesus said go ahead and look at what I said for yourselves. Jesus said read the scriptures because they testify of me. Many times people are willing to listen to another person’s testimony because they want to know more about that person or hear what they went through to get where they are in life. Yet many times as Christian we won’t read the word of God to hear His testimony and what He went through for us.

Search the scriptures meaning not just a casual glance but an intense exploration of the true treasures of God. The word of God is our delight and we should never grow weary of searching its pages. Go ahead and wear out your bible pages from continued searching and finding and searching and finding. God will never have us searching yet never finding, He is always so eager to freely give to those who seek Him.

Look and then look some more, God can show you new things that you’ve never seen before.

LATE NIGHT SNACKS

Sometimes we can get hungry at the strangest times, like in the middle of the night or close to bedtime. There you sit minding your own business getting ready to retire for the night and Bam, your stomach begins to growl. You think to yourself, surely I couldn’t be hungry I just ate 4 hours ago. However your body is now crying out and demanding to be fed. What do you do, feed it or deny it?

This can also apply to our spirit man. Our spirit has the same or many times a greater demand for nourishment then our physical bodies. When our bodies are active, many times they require and demand more calories, kind of like supply and demand. When you expend spiritual energy so to speak you require more spiritual food to maintain soundness and effectiveness. When you are spiritually active it is not unusual for your spirit to wake your mind and body in the middle of the night for a late night Hallelujah snack. What do you do, feed it or deny it?

THE FRUIT IS IN THE SEED

Genesis 1:11
And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth: and it was so God created fruit trees to yield fruit after its kind. The fruit trees seed is within itself. A seed is a very significant part of a plant. Seeds have everything they will ever become within its self. Roots are produced and come forth out of the seed and anchor the entire plant or tree.

Root defined:
• The part of a plant that has no leaves or buds and usually spreads underground, anchoring the plant and absorbing water and nutrients from the soil.

Jesus said, “For there is no good (healthy) tree that bears decayed (worthless, stale) fruit, nor on the other hand does a decayed (worthless, sickly) tree bear good fruit. For each tree is known and identified by its own fruit; for figs are not gathered from thornbushes, nor is a cluster of grapes picked from a bramblebush. The upright (honorable, intrinsically good) man out of the good treasure [stored] in his heart produces what is upright (honorable and intrinsically good), and the evil man out of the evil storehouse brings forth that which is depraved (wicked and intrinsically evil); for out of the abundance (overflow) of the heart his mouth speaks. (Luke 6:43-45 AMP).

Words are seeds and are impregnated with life or death. Once spoken they quickly look for soil to begin germination and root permeation. The seed must be watered and nurtured in order for the shell of the seed to be broken to let the inner life of the seed come out. The seed will only produce what is in it, no surprises, oops or mistakes, it is what it is. If we have undesirable fruit in our lives it is because somewhere along the way a seed was sown that contained the results you now see. The roots of the seed is what sustains the whole plant, if the roots are destroyed the plant will die. God told Jeremiah that He put His words in his mouth to root out, pull down, destroy and throw down, but also to build and plant. God’s word is the only thing qualified to uproot seeds of death and destruction, yet at the same time build and plant the good will of God.

So begin to be selective about the words or seeds you allow to be planted in your heart and mind because they will produce a harvest; good or bad.

FEEDBACK

Feedback defined:
• Comments in the form of opinions about and reactions to something, intended to provide useful information for future decisions and development.

Have you ever gotten feedback from the devil? It is amazing how he so readily offers his opinion as if anything he says matters. Jesus said that Satan is a liar.

Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it. (John 8:44)

Why would anyone base their lives on mere lies? People get all upset and discouraged many times from what somebody said to them or about them even when they know it is not true. Anything that does not line up with the truth, which is God’s Word, is not worth even thinking about. People are very quick many times to voice their opinions. Human opinion can easily be influenced by the flesh, the world and the devil, none of which have their root in the Word of God.

The next time you need to make a decision about something in your life, rather big or small, stay clear of feedback that is contrary to the will of God for your life. The bible says in Proverbs 3:5 …lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him…

We belong to God, He is our Father therefore we know His voice. God is the one who is to guide His people not the opinions of men. God is not issuing out opinions but rather commandments. God has not summoned us to a round table discussion to help Him make decisions. He is without fault and flawless.

Opinions are generally based on or influenced by a person’s past experiences, actual and sometimes hearsay or fictional. Our lives are valuable to God and His kingdom. It is not the will of God for His people to be guided by hearsay or fantasy. God wants our lives to be rooted and grounded in His Word so that when we need counsel or guidance it comes forth from His Word and Spirit.

Please don’t be misled by enticing words of men’s wisdom because it will prove to be vain in the end. We must lean on, rely on and depend on God, our Father, He will never withhold any good thing from you, never.

ARE YOU ONLINE

When you are online on a computer your status is considered active. This can apply in the spirit as well as in the natural. To be active is to be: lively, energetic, vigorous, full of life, on the go, full of zip and dynamic. When a person’s status is offline they are considered to be inactive. To be inactive is to be: motionless, stationary, unmoving, immobile, stopped, stilled or dormant.

What is your status, are you on or off, active or inactive?

Jeremiah 1:12 describes our God as being an active God, “Then said the Lord to me, You have seen well, for I am alert and active, watching over My word to perform it.”
God is not dormant or stopped, He is on the go doing His will and fulfilling His good pleasure. God is not asleep on the job, He is not only alert but He is active. God is always online, in step and right on time. God is never late but always ready and willing to participate in bringing His word to pass in our lives. The bible reveals that the word of God is active, operative and energizing.

For the Word that God speaks is alive and full of power [making it active, operative, energizing, and effective]; it is sharper than any two-edged sword, penetrating to the dividing line of the breath of life (soul) and [the immortal] spirit, and of joints and marrow [of the deepest parts of our nature], exposing and sifting and analyzing and judging the very thoughts and purposes of the heart. (Hebrews 4:12 AMB)

As children of God we should be developing into looking just like Him. If God is active then we should be active or change whatever is inactive in our lives so that we can look more like Him. When I refer to God being active I don’t mean He is busy running all over the place from one thing to another, frantic and chaotic. No, God has purpose in everything He does. His activities are not driven or controlled by the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eye and pride of life; they are not vain or selfish. God’s activeness is born out of love. Love never fails.

Looking like God means doing what we see Him do and saying what we hear Him say.

James 1:25 says, “But he who looks carefully into the faultless law, the [law] of liberty, and is faithful to it and perseveres in looking into it, being not a heedless listener who forgets but an active doer [who obeys], he shall be blessed in his doing (his life of obedience).”

We must be active doers of God’s word not just hearers. You can fool some of the people some of the time but you can never fool God. Being a hearer of God’s word only, will bear fruit of inactivity. It will be evident eventually that this person’s status was offline. Sometimes people will log on to their computers and appear to be online but in reality they have walked away from the computer and have become distracted by something else. Have you ever known someone who outwardly appeared to be actively doing the word of God and obeying His will but in reality they have spiritually walked away and are distracted by other things? We are considered active when we hear and do what we hear. We become active through practice and participation.

So what is your status, are you on or offline, active or inactive?

HOME SWEET HOME

Mark 5:19
Howbeit Jesus suffered him not, but saith unto him, Go home to thy friends, and tell them how great things the Lord hath done for thee, and hath had compassion on thee.

There was a saying years ago that said, “Home is where the heart is.” Home is a place of comfort and security for many people. Home is a place of tradition and familiarity. Home is a place that is embedded with natural feelings and human attachments and acceptance. Home reminds us of our natural lineage and the place of “firsts” and beginnings. Home should represent a place of trust and safety. Home is a place where people feel like they belong.

In the bible account above Jesus told a man who was previously possessed with many devils and ostracized from his home, family and friends, to go home. Obviously this man had friends and family before he became tormented by this multitude of demons that controlled him. Jesus said go home to thy friends and tell them the great things the Lord has done for you (paraphrasing mine). Home should be a place that we share the love of God. Home should be a place where we exalt and esteem the Lord, telling friends and family the great things He has done for us. If anybody should be able to recognize the transformation in your life it should be close friends and family who knew you then (before Christ) and see you now (after salvation). Be bold to tell those at home the great things the Lord has done for you and how He has had compassion on you.

ANGELS WATCHING OVER ME

Exodus 23:20-22
Behold, I send an Angel before thee, to keep thee in the way, and to bring thee into the place which I have prepared. Beware of him, and obey his voice, provoke him not; for he will not pardon your transgressions: for my name is in him. But if thou shalt indeed obey his voice, and do all that I speak; then I will be an enemy unto thine enemies, and an adversary unto thine adversaries.

God has a prepared plan for every life. The plan that God has for your life is strategic and significant to Him. The path that God has set you in is so valuable, He sent an angel to go before you to help assure that you reach your destinies end. Hebrews 1:14 declares this about angels, “Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation?” Praise God we, Christians, are those heirs of salvation!

When Paul’s life was threatened in the midst of the sea, God sent an angel.

Acts 27:23-25
For there stood by me this night the angel of God, whose I am, and whom I serve, Saying, Fear not, Paul; thou must be brought before Caesar: and, lo, God hath given thee all them that sail with thee. Wherefore, sirs, be of good cheer: for I believe God, that it shall be even as it was told me.

On our God given journeys here in the earth we will meet up with many adverse situations and enemy forces but God will always be with us to be our fortress and our shield, He is our MIGHTY DELIVERER. He said if you will obey my words then I will be an enemy to your enemies and an adversary to your adversaries. There is no force or power greater than our God, He is the Almighty God.

Lift up your heads, O ye gates; and be ye lift up, ye everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in. Who is this King of glory? The LORD strong and mighty, the LORD mighty in battle. (Psalms 24:7-8)

Our God is an awesome God, there is none like Him. He is Omniscient (All knowing), Omnipotent (All powerful), He is undefeatable.

Enemy defined:
• Somebody who hates or seeks to harm somebody or something.
• A person or group, especially a military force, that fights against another in combat or battle.

In God’s kingdom His word is law. When He speaks it is settled, no voting, no arguments, no nothing… it is what it is. The enemy is a law breaker. He is a thief and a robber. He is a murderer and a swindler. He is a violator and a trespasser. He is in rebellion against God and His kingdom. He is vile and evil to the core. Yet in the midst of all of his darkness and rage he is 100% defeated. Jesus defeated him over 2000 years ago when He declared it is finished on that cross then rose from the dead, triumphantly.

Although Satan is defeated he still roams the earth seeking whom he may devour. But thank God, Satan can’t devour whomever he wants, only those who will not resist him through Christ.

God has done everything He will ever do about the devil, now we must maintain our victory through obedience to His word. When we live a life of obedience to God we are assured protection, provision, wisdom, health, and strength etc, everything we have need of to fulfill our God given destinies and live victoriously. As we walk close with God and remain in the path He has prepared for us, attentively listening and obeying His word, God rises up and becomes an enemy to our enemies and an adversary to our adversaries. He will never leave you nor forsake you, so don’t fear or be alarmed by the terror of the enemy, just know he has no power over you or me. Trust in God and you will see His power go before you valiantly.

Psalms 91:1
HE WHO dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall remain stable and fixed under the shadow of the Almighty [Whose power no foe can withstand].
