FACE (the) BOOK

Face defined:
• To be positioned or turn so that the face or front side is directed a particular way or toward something or somebody.

Hebrews 12:2-3 (AMP)
Looking away [from all that will distract] to Jesus, Who is the Leader and the Source of our faith [giving the first incentive for our belief] and is also its Finisher [bringing it to maturity and perfection]. He, for the joy [of obtaining the prize] that was set before Him, endured the cross, despising and ignoring the shame, and is now seated at the right hand of the throne of God. Just think of Him Who endured from sinners such grievous opposition and bitter hostility against Himself [reckon up and consider it all in comparison with your trials], so that you may not grow weary or exhausted, losing heart and relaxing and fainting in your minds.

We live in a world that has many distractions and alluring attractions. This could be very detrimental for Christians that lack disciple. When we neglect to cultivate the fruit of discipline in our lives we open our lives to be controlled by the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eye and the pride of life. These three things operating in a person’s life will only produce misery and sorrow.

The scripture above says look away from all these things that will distract you and then look to Jesus. When a person turns from something it doesn’t automatically mean they will turn to something better. The bible teaches us what to turn from and what to turn to. Turning is a voluntary movement, which means you must participate; God will not do it for you.

We must endeavor to stay spiritually sound and full of the word of God so that we can recognize and distinguish a distraction from the main attraction, which is Jesus. When Christian’s allow themselves to become spiritually dull they lack the sensitivity to discern worldly distraction from Heavenly attractions.

God wants us to keep our focus on Jesus. The way that we accomplish that is by facing the Book. The book that I am referring to is the Word of God.

James 1:25 declares, “But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.

The Word of God will keep our lives clean from the defiling distractions of this world. The Word of God will keep our motives pure and our heart’s commented to the cause of Christ. The word of God keeps our focus on the right things.

Christian’s who keep their face in the book don’t use corrupt communication. Christian’s who keep their face in the book don’t gossip and slander. Christian’s who keep their face in the book imitate Jesus, they look like him in the storms of life. Christian’s who keep their face in the book are pleasant to be around. Christian’s who keep their face in the book live to honor God. They are strong in the Lord and in the pwoer of His might. They are living epistles full of the Love of God and great grace is upon them. They are carriers of the message of peace and prosperity. They do exploits for God and are not MIA in the battles of life. Christian’s who keep their face in the Book are equiped and armed with the full armour of God. They are full of joy and they have the victory in every circumstance and situation. Christian’s who keep their face in the book continue to look up because they know that their redemption draws near.

The Book (Bible) is full of power and wisdom. The Book (Bible) is the light that lights every mans life. The Book (Bible) is accurate and effective to deal with any and everything. The Book (Bible) is full of life. The Book (Bible) is loaded with benefits and blessing. The Book (Bible) is health and healing to the whole man. Search it’s pages you will not be disappointed.

So turn from every distraction and FACE the BOOK, in it there is eternal life!

Every day we have the opportunity to devote our time and attention to something. Most often times the things we give priority to are the things we value the most. People sometimes spend years researching and studying different interest because it is something they like, so they give much time and dedication to find out as much as they can on the subject. When a person is hired on a job they sometimes are given manuals or computer modules to read so that they can know how to do their job from the employer’s perspective. If this new employee wants to be successful then they will spend numerous hours not only reading the required info given to them by the employer but they will go the extra mile and learn more and do more than the minimum requirement.

When something is of value to someone it shows. Their dedication and loyalty to adjust their own life and schedule to accommodate the thing valued is evident. Jesus made a statement in the bible quite similar to the point I am trying to make: “If ye love me, keep my commandments. John 14:15”

Jesus was saying if you love me then make me priority in your life. Go out of your way and day to learn about me and to adjust your life to agree with my manual (the bible).

What are your priorities? Do you want a successful marriage? Then study and dedicate time on the subject. Do you want success in parenting? Then study and dedicate time on the subject. Do you need healing in your body or mind? Then study and dedicate time on the subject.

Nothing just happens you must do your part. God has provided answers to every question you will ever ask but He is not going to cram them down your spirit or soul.

How bad do you want it?

God has a plan for every life but it will not just magically appear. Sometimes we spend days and weeks tending to trivial things and never giving any attention to the precious things. How bad do you want the plan that God has for your life to be fulfilled? How much time do you spend on seeking out that plan? How much time do you spend following His plan for your life and not your own plans?

How bad do you want it?

Your daily focus and interest can give us the answer.

Isaiah 59: 19-21
So shall they fear the name of the LORD from the west, and his glory from the rising of the sun. When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the LORD shall lift up a standard against him. And the Redeemer shall come to Zion, and unto them that turn from transgression in Jacob, saith the LORD. As for me, this is my covenant with them, saith the LORD; My spirit that is upon thee, and my words which I have put in thy mouth, shall not depart out of thy mouth, nor out of the mouth of thy seed, nor out of the mouth of thy seed’s seed, saith the LORD, from henceforth and for ever.

It may seem like sometimes that the enemy has the upper hand on you but don’t quit, the battle is not over, God has the last word. Sometimes you can hear the enemies of your destiny and faith laughing at you as if they have conquered and you are defeated. However their laughter will turn to their own demise. Every device that the enemy tries to bring against you is powerless to harm you. Lift up your head and be encouraged, God is on your side and He will not fail you. Don’t agree with the words of the enemy that he has sent to steal, kill and destroy from you.. You are not a failure. You are not defeated. You are not a nothing or a nobody. Don’t believe a word Satan says, he is a liar. You are the head and not the tail, above only and not beneath. You are more than a conqueror through Christ that loves you. Put God’s word in your mouth and speak life in the mist of troubling storms and dark clouds of despair. People may be looking at you waiting on you to go down, cave in and quit but you are not a quitter. Tell those spectators to keep looking because they will see the glory of God manifest in your life. You’re not down and you’re definitely not out, so keep on stepping in the direction of your Divine Destiny and don’t be moved by the light afflictions that come to try and get you off course. Just know that the joy of the Lord is your strength and the word of God ,which is your standard, is your sword. You can’t lose with that combination. You are a winner in Christ. Lift up the standard and tell the enemy it is written, “no weapon formed against me shall prosper.” Lift up a standard and tell the enemy it is written, “By Jesus stripes I am healed.” Lift up a standard and tell the enemy, it is written, “Greater is He that is in me than he that is in the world.”

Go ahead walk in your authority and maintain the victory through Christ our Redeemer!

Command defined:
• An order or instruction given by somebody in authority.

Words similar to command are: rule, domination, control, power, sway, dominion and authority.

Jesus said in Luke 10:18, “Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.”

In the above scripture the word power is used twice, the first time it is mentioned, “…power to tread,” it actually is the Greek word, exousia, which means authority. Jesus was telling believers, I am delegating my authority to you. He had a legal right to entrust and/or assign His God given authority and power.

God’s authority is above any other authority in heaven and earth. Jesus said after He was raised from the dead, “All power is given unto me.” Well who gave Him that power, the one in whom all power and authority belongs, God Almighty.

In the beginning, in the book of Genesis it is noted that God gave man dominion over many things that He had created. God created man with the capacity to rule. When someone is in authority their authority is meaningless if it is not exercised or demonstrated. When we don’t use or put into effect the authority God has given us we forfeit our right to lead and take command; thus allowing fraudulent authorities to step up and lead.

We have an opportunity each and every morning to rise up in our God given son-ship and rule and reign with God. We have the right and God given privilege to command the order of our day. We don’t have to just settle for whatever may come our way, no, we can command our destinies according to God’s revealed will for our lives. God has a pre-destined path for every one of His children but we must seek Him for direction and instruction. As we come to know God’s will we can then begin to declare it in the earth. Jesus said, I am able to do nothing from Myself [independently, of My own accord–but only as I am taught by God and as I get His orders]. Even as I hear, I judge [I decide as I am bidden to decide. As the voice comes to Me, so I give a decision], and My judgment is right (just, righteous), because I do not seek or consult My own will [I have no desire to do what is pleasing to Myself, My own aim, My own purpose] but only the will and pleasure of the Father Who sent Me. (John 5:30 AMP).

Once we know the will of God we can then command with great accuracy and effectiveness. God does not feel threatened or insecure when His children stand beside Him, ruling and reigning; I believe He is pleased and elated. We have been made kings and priests unto God and his Father, Revelations 1:6. We have inherited the divine nature of God which is infused with the ability to command. We are not heirs of weakness or cowardice; we are heirs of strength and power. We are not those who will timidly shrink back into the carnal earthly heritage of our past. We are strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. We are those who stand tall with the Father at the dawning of each new day and boldly declare the way the day will be.

COMMAND THE MORNING!

This is a good day, a day of new mercies for me and my family.

This is a day of peace and safety. This is a day of supernatural manifestation and angelic intervention for me. This day my body is strong, whole and well. This day I have the mind of Christ. This day I am prosperous and well favored by God. This day the blessings of God over take me. This day I walk in the revealed will of God for my life. This day I call forth blessing, increase, provision, protection, pre-destined opportunities and divine appointments… Come now, in Jesus Name! This day good things come my way.

Well you can go on and on depending on what you want that day to look like. Jesus said He only did those things which He had seen with His Father. When we spend quality time with God He shows us things to come, He reveals our destinies to us. As He creates the divine image in our spirit and in our minds of what our lives should be like, we can them command forth and live out what we see.

Be bold to command what God has said concerning your life and don’t settle for an imitation or anything less than 100% of what He has revealed to you.

There is an enemy of your soul and his name is Satan. He will do whatever it takes to try to shipwreck your life and abort your destiny in God. His plans are to hinder and ultimately stop your progress.
Hinder defined:
• To delay or prevent the development or progress of somebody or something.

Words that help us understand hinder are: hold back, delay, deter, hamper, encumber, obstruct, get in the way, thwart and impede.

God has given you authority over your enemy. Luke 10:19 declares, “Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.”However the enemy will try to do everything to keep you from using that authority over him, so he will try to put road blocks and hindrances in your way.

Remember the devil cannot hinder your authority just because he wants to; you have to give him permission. We don’t generally give the enemy permission to come in and wreck havoc in our lives knowingly, most often times it is through yielding to his deceptive devices. These satanic strategies and devices are sent to you to cause you to not use authority or to cause your authority to be ineffective or invalid.

Some Common Hindrances To Authority:
1. Lack of Knowledge (specifically in who you are in Christ)
2. Fear
3. Lacking Confidence
4. Unbelief
5. Weights and Sins
6. Lacking spiritual discipline
*This is not an all inclusive list, just some of the main strategies the enemy may use to try to thwart your authority.

We must be alert and sober, keeping our spiritual senses keen (finely tuned and able to sense minor differences, distinctions and details). When someone is drunk from the cares of this life or intoxicated with its false glamour and seductive ways they become dull to the deceptive devices of the enemy and are easy prey. If we want to stay loyal to God and see His will done in the earth we must stay alert and tuned in to His Spirit to lead and guide us. We must be faithful to use the authority He has given us to continually maintain our victory and finish our God given course in this life. We will discuss in greater depth each hindrance on this week, so stay tuned we’ll be back tomorrow. In the meantime, use your authority and keep the enemy under your feet. Go forward and make progress, expand and increase, take new territory in Jesus Name!

2 Corinthians 10:4-7 (AMP)

For the weapons of our warfare are not physical [weapons of flesh and blood], but they are mighty before God for the overthrow and destruction of strongholds, [Inasmuch as we] refute arguments and theories and reasonings and every proud and lofty thing that sets itself up against the [true] knowledge of God; and we lead every thought and purpose away captive into the obedience of Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One), Being in readiness to punish every [insubordinate for his] disobedience, when your own submission and obedience [as a church] are fully secured and complete.

You have the God given right as a child of God to cause whomever or whatever is devising evil against Christ to desist from its purpose and submit to Christ.

Whenever a thought comes to your mind that is contrary to the Word of God it is rebelling against God and His kingdom. We must then as kingdom citizens enforce the law of God by bringing that thought under the obedience of God’s rule. The bible teaches us to cast down; meaning to throw down with the use of force, every opposing thought or imagination. We have a right to demand that this offender and violator of God’s Word submit itself to Christ. When the enemy sends an opposing thought to your mind he is in essence opposing Christ because we are a part of Christ’s body and we have the mind of Christ. When someone opposes Christ’s body, they are opposing Christ. The same is true in the natural if someone threw a baseball at your head; you would consider it an attack on your whole person not just the head.

It is Satan’s nature to try and exalt himself above God’s creation.

Isaiah 14:12-18

How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations! For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north: I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High. Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit. They that see thee shall narrowly look upon thee, and consider thee, saying, Is this the man that made the earth to tremble, that did shake kingdoms; That made the world as a wilderness, and destroyed the cities thereof; that opened not the house of his prisoners?

In the life of the believer Satan attempts to do this in the mind. The devil many times tries to use a device called; blindness, to dominate his prey.

Blind defined:

• To blunt (to make dull) the mental discernment: to darken the mind.

• Obstruction: anything that blocks the free passage of light, sight, or air.

The devil will unrelentingly try to block light from getting to your mind. He will try to dull your discernment through neglect, idleness and worldly distractions. When we meditate and fixate our minds on thoughts sent forth from the kingdom of darkness we allow rebellion to dominate and be exalted. Wherever Christ is named, the enemy will try to exalt himself because he is driven by an evil compulsion to be worshipped like God and exalt his wicked throne above the things of God.

Thoughts are seeds, seeds are produced by reproduction. Every seed produces after its own kind. A good tree cannot produce corrupt fruit and a corrupt tree cannot produce good fruit. Satan’s words or we can say his seeds, can never produce good fruit, he is the source of all evil and corruption. Satan is the author of all adultery, pride, hatred, lying, stealing and the like. Never think for one minute that when he sends a thought to your mind that its harvest will ever bring about good.

If you were in a natural physical war your enemy would study you to see how to defeat you. If your enemy knew that there were areas where he could possibly besiege and get an advantage and precipitate surrender then he would study those areas to devise the best strategy to defeat you. When we neglect to renew our mind and fortify our soul we become vulnerable to the harsh, many times sudden, assaults of the enemy. We must not only possess a strong spirit but a strong fortified soul. We must never be caught unarmed. We must always be prepared with the full armor of God. We must always be ready to revenge all disobedient and inferior thoughts and imaginations, bringing them under the authority of Christ. We must forcefully reject and eject all opposing forces that would try to exalt or dominate in the place of Christ. Jesus is our King; we will have no other God besides Him.

Stay alert, you are in a war. God has already equipped you with everything you need to win in every battle!

IT IS A GOOD THING TO GIVE THANKS UNTO THE LORD, AND TO SING PRAISES UNTO THY NAME, O MOST HIGH: To shew forth thy lovingkindness in the morning, and thy faithfulness every night,

In the beginning, when God created the Heavens and the Earth, everything He created was good including the morning. How brilliant is it to greet each day with the phrase, “GOODMORNING.” It is good indeed. Every dawning of a new day is authored by God and everything God creates is good. We are privileged to experience God’s loving-kindness every morning, Oh, how wonderful.

Enjoy each new day and lift up a song to your Maker, which is God. God is so gracious and loving to us. There is no good in the morning without God. God is the good of each new day. He is the reason to say, GOODMORNING. Each day affords a new opportunity to see the goodness of God in the land of the living.

So Good-morning. Good- morning, Good -morning to you.
