TODAY

Today we have the now. Yesterday we had what was, tomorrow what will be. Today is full of possibilities. Today is full of new opportunities. Today is graced with creativity. Today is the exact moment for your dreams to become reality. Today adds longevity to your purpose. Today is proof that yesterday is gone and life goes on and on. Today is brand new, an open canvas for you to begin again. Today is for you to explore, create and participate in the Divine Plan of God. Today is your day, develop it, mold it and make it into the same image God planted in your heart to see. Today is your day, be fruitful, multiply and have dominion, that’s the way God planned it to be. Today is your day, don’t let tomorrow greet you with your works for today undone.

Psalms 118:24
This [is] the day [which] the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.

EXCURSION

2Timothy 4:7-8
I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.

Excursion defined:
• A temporary deviation from a regular course or pattern.

Paul tells us that he finished his course. In order for Paul to finish his course he had to stay focused and not deviate from God’s original plan for his life. The scriptures reveal to us in Psalms 37:23-24, “The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and he delighteth in his way. Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the LORD upholdeth him with his hand.”

An excursion is a temporary deviation from a regular course. This means that we can get back on track even if we have brief moments of digression. However, it must be understood that excursions are not built –in or add-on side journeys that God includes in our destinies. An excursion is something we step aside to do that was not part of the master plan.

Several years ago our family went on a Caribbean cruise. On this cruise we decided to book some excursions at the different port of calls we were to stop at. The time allotted for the excursion was not to exceed the time the ship was to be docked at the port. At one particular port some passengers that were aboard the ship decided to go on an extended excursion meaning they went further and stay longer than they should have and the ship captain was not pleased that he had to wait for them and announced his displeasure over the intercom. As a matter of fact he was two seconds from leaving them when he got a call saying they were on their way, they had some car trouble.

Sometimes when people decide to veer from the plans and purposes of God they don’t take into consideration that they may not make it back. Excursions may seem fun for the time being but they are not worth the risk of getting left behind.

NO WEAPON

No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is of me, saith the LORD.

Weapon defined:
•A device designed to inflict injury or death on an opponent.

This scripture declares that no device designed by the kingdom of darkness against your life can prosper against you. So no matter what you maybe going through at this very moment, it is written, “No weapon formed against thee shall prosper.” God will not fail you, He is for you not against you. The lies that have been spoken against you shall not prosper. The disease that has been sent to destroy you shall not prosper. It doesn’t matter what the device maybe just know it will not prosper.

The word prosper means to flourish or thrive. The power of God has stripped the devices of the enemy of the ability to flourish or thrive against you, they can not stay alive when God’s Word and power show up.

For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith. Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God? 1John 5:4-5

We win!

SOAK IT

Soak defined:
• To penetrate something by saturating it and passing into pores or small holes.

Similar words to soak are: immerse, steep, marinate, infuse, saturate, and bathe.

There is a difference between soaking something in water and just merely dipping something in water. When you dip something in water it is just a brief encounter then you quickly remove it from the water, However when you soak something it is a lengthier period of time that you leave it in the water or substance. Soaking requires patience. Many times people get in a hurry and don’t let what is immersed absorb all that it needs to.

Colossians 3:16
Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.
The word richly in that verse means abundance. Let the word of God live in you in great quantity, not just a little bit. In order for God’s word to live in us richly we need to immerse or soak ourselves in it so that it can permeate and saturate every fiber of our being. When something is soaked it becomes weighty, heavy or solid. This weightiness and/or solidity becomes the anchor of our spirit, soul and body. It is the rock that causes us not to be moved. When we become rooted and grounded in God and His word we become unshakeable.

Many times when you soak something it gives the soaking agent time to remove old callous things and yet at the same time penetrate and expand useful things. When the word of God penetrates and fills your heart, it begins to expand and enlarge it, giving way to the greater and thus becoming more useful.

Dehydration is a dangerous lack of water in the body resulting from inadequate intake of fluids or excessive loss. Loss of fluids can result from various assaults on the body such as: disease, trauma, profuse sweating, prolonged heat exposure, etc. When the body is dehydrated the person can become confused, weak, delirious, experience visual disturbances and a host of other malfunctions. If we compare this to spiritual dehydration we can see some of the same devastating manifestations. People began to lack spiritual perception which distorts Godly vision; they begin to experience spiritual weakness resulting in poor judgment and increased carnality. We see manifestations of spiritual delirium, anxiety and speech deficits. Spiritual dehydration can put a person’s spirit in a state of shock. Listen, child of God, we should never allow our spirits to get to the point of spiritual dehydration. We must endeavor to stay full!

Daily soaks in God’s word causes us to overflow with the life and light of God. Our lives then become prosperous and we have good success. God told Joshua to meditate His word day and night; well I think that could very well be a form of soaking. Lightly wetting yourself with the word of God does not produce good success, the gentlest breeze can quickly dry that from your skins surface. However when we soak, it goes deep inside, filtering through every pore, reaching every part of our being.

So purpose in your heart to take frequent soaks in the Word of Life and watch your life overflow and grow more and more!

Courage v/s Cowardice

Nehemiah 4:14
And I looked, and rose up, and said unto the nobles, and to the rulers, and to the rest of the people, Be not ye afraid of them: remember the LORD, which is great and terrible, and fight for your brethren, your sons, and your daughters, your wives, and your houses.

I love this scripture because it is for the family. In today’s society the family is many times talked about as if it is something not needed or optional. God created the family and He is for the family. The devil is a thief and a destroyer of relationships. God is a God of unity, peace and love. Love will never seek to tear apart or destroy a family. The above scripture is a scripture rooted and ground in the love of God. Love is not selfish; it does not seek its own way. Love fights diligently for what belongs to it. Many times people say that they are acting like God or doing something that supposedly He told them to do, yet it is not consistent with love. Jesus said, you will know a tree by the fruit it bears. Love will never abandon what belongs to it, love will always shelter and protect. No parent in their right mind would leave a child unguarded for someone to come along to destroy. Love will always stand guard to protect and not neglect. Jesus loved His disciples until the end even though they betrayed, forsook and denied Him. He never changed or compromised His love for them no matter how unfaithful they were to Him. Jesus never lowered His standard He remained in unconditional love. Perfect love cast out fear.

The scripture above says be not afraid but remember the Lord. God will be your strength and shield; He will never allow you to fight alone. God has never lost a battle and He never will.

Courage defined:
• The ability to face danger, difficulty, uncertainty, or pain without being overcome by fear or being deflected from a chosen course of action.

It’s time to stand up and fight the good fight of faith for your families. Cowards turn their backs and run because they are selfish. Courage stands tall and endures to the end. Courage is a product of love and it always wins. Courage will withstand wounds and afflictions during battle yet it will not quit. Courage will endure the cross of suffering because it knows that in three days RESURRECTION POWER will show up and show out. God is counting on you to be strong and of good courage. Fight for your families and fight to win!!!!!!

GREAT PEACE

Psalms 119:165
Great peace have they which love thy law: and nothing shall offend them.

There is peace and there is great peace. God has great peace for those who love His law. When we spend uninterrupted time fellowshipping with God in His Word; that word produces great peace. Great peace guards our hearts and minds against offence. Offence is a thief of divine destinies. It leaves a person spiritually shipwrecked and withered. Offence opens the door for the deceptive devices of the enemy to spread like poison in a person’s system (their spirit, soul and body). The Word of God is a cleansing agent, it will keep us from defilement. God wants us to have great peace. Peace belongs to every child of God; the bible tells us that we have a covenant of peace. Peace will bring shelter to you in the time of storm. Peace will cause you to remain calm when in the midst of the raging forces of the enemy’s storm and make him run in defeat.

GREAT PEACE HAVE THEY WHICH LOVE THY LAW…

When I was in High School there were alot of books that I was assigned to read but I did not love them even though I read them. I had to read them otherwise I would have failed the class and potentially not graduated. Just because you read something from cover to cover does not mean you love it. Loving God’s Word is a choice that we make, not God.

It is important that we develop a passion and love for God’s Word. It is our life. We must desire it more than anything else.
