Grace!!

2 Timothy 1:9

Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began,

Grace will get you to the place of your destiny. God will never bring you to the birth and refuse to deliver. We must press, but not with our own human strength. We must press through grace. God’s grace is His ability. His ability enables us to do the unnatural–what is beyond our human ability. Grace is God working in us and for us. We must depend on this grace. We must embrace this grace. God’s grace is sufficient for all things.

No Slack, No Slop!

1 Corinthians 9:25-27 (MSG)

You’ve all been to the stadium and seen the athletes race. Everyone runs; one wins. Run to win. All good athletes train hard. They do it for a gold medal that tarnishes and fades. You’re after one that’s gold eternally. I don’t know about you, but I’m running hard for the finish line. I’m giving it everything I’ve got. No sloppy living for me! I’m staying alert and in top condition. I’m not going to get caught napping, telling everyone else all about it and then missing out myself.

Isn’t it time to give your race all you’ve got. God gave His all, now it’s our turn. Let’s all kick it up a notch or two for Jesus……….He’s so worth it!

Ready or Not, Here I Come!

Luke 21:34-36 (AMP)

But take heed to yourselves and be on your guard, lest your hearts be overburdened and depressed (weighed down) with the giddiness and headache and nausea of self-indulgence, drunkenness, and worldly worries and cares pertaining to [the business of] this life, and [lest] that day come upon you suddenly like a trap or a noose; For it will come upon all who live upon the face of the entire earth. Keep awake then and watch at all times [be discreet, attentive, and ready], praying that you may have the full strength and ability and be accounted worthy to escape all these things [taken together] that will take place, and to stand in the presence of the Son of Man.

Jesus is my hero and He is soon to return for His church. Will you be ready to meet the Lord in the air?

Jesus gave specific instructions in the above scriptures to His body. He charged us to take heed to ourselves, meaning be sober and know what and in whom you have believed. He was saying take note and pay attention to what’s going on in your inner and outer life. Take heed; observe the words that are coming out of your mouth. Take heed to the people you hang around and the influences you allow in your heart and mind. Guard and examine your life on a regular basis as not to neglect your personal responsibility to fight the good fight of faith and stay set apart from the world.

He warns us not to be overburdened and depressed with the things of this life. A person can become so wrapped up and involved in the ways, culture, traditions and life-styles of this world that it consumes every minute of their day and night. Christians were not left here in the world to fit in or befriend the world; we are here to be ministers of reconciliation, salt and light, Ambassadors from the Kingdom of God to a lost and dying world. The very people you are trying to impress in this world will one day die and go to hell if we (Christians) don’t rise up and be light and lead them to Christ. Your need to be loved, accepted, and approved by this world is selfish and of the flesh, it has no foundation in the love of God. Love rescues sinners. Love speaks the truth. Love lays down its life for others. Love covers a multitude of sin. Love will leave the ninety secure sheep and go after the one lost sheep. Love endures and is patient and kind. Love is not waiting patiently for the world to be condemned and punished but rather for those who are deceived and blinded by darkness to come to the light. The power of Love can turn a dark and wicked heart from darkness to light from the power of Satan to God. It doesn’t matter how wicked and evil a person’s heart may be, one Word from God can change it in an instant!

We must be awake and stay alert to the time we are in and be strong, bold, courage, steadfast, sober, meek, and gentle soldiers of Christ. God so loved the world–people–that He gave His only begotten Son for all. God did not hate or despise sinners, He came to rescue us from sin and death. He did not sit in Heaven and rejoice because we were on our way to hell. No, He came and saved us. Praise His name. Thank God He believed there was hope for us even when we were in sin. He looked at our worst and saw the best. He spoke light and life to us, not misery and doom. He embraced us when we were dirty and covered with the filth of unrighteousness. He reached into the our once grave of bondage and despair and lifted us out to enjoy a new clean life in Christ. His Love saw our condition and created a solution so that whosoever would call upon His Name would be saved!

Now He says to you and I “go into all the world (with love) and preach/proclaim this Good News!” God loves us and He sent His Son to die so that we could live! Love never fails. We must never give up on the redeeming power of love. Without love all people would be doomed to an eternal life in hell. God is not willing that any would perish but that all would come to repentance (2 Peter 3:9). If God is not willing then we should not be willing. Jesus said, that He came to seek and save the lost (Luke 19:10).

Seek is the same as; to pursue, to look for, search for, try to find, hunt for, seek out and find.

Seek defined:

  • to go in search for, look for

Don’t let the sinister strategies of Satan and his dark kingdom disconnect you from the seeking  power of Love. Love is a strategic hunter in pursuit of treasure! However, we must watch out for pirates and spiritual abortionist that seek to sabotage love’s plan for every man.

And many false prophets will appear and will deceive many people. Sin will be rampant everywhere, and the love of many will grow cold.  But the one who endures to the end will be saved.

Matthew 24:11-13 (NLT)

We must give people the opportunity to believe in Christ and not be like Jonah and refuse to preach to them because we see their wickedness. We can never be used by God to reach a lost world if we don’t even love them. Love is expressive. God so loved us that He – gave! What are we giving besides our action-less words and opinions?

Let God be the Judge and let us be the instruments of the Almighty and speak as we are commanded like Ezekiel (37th chapter) to the dry bones and watch God resurrect the dead to life!

Let us serve God in an attitude of humility and godly fear, being filled with compassion. Let us pray that we would be worthy to be used by God  to convert the most wicked person, in our eyes, to Christ and save a soul from death.

We still have time to spread the message of the Kingdom of God and see many souls come to repentance! Let’s forget about ourselves for a few seconds and focus on the cause of the Kingdom!

Praise His Name Forever. He is coming back soon for a church without spot or blemish, be ready, stay steady!

Make the Cook Smile!

Psalms 23:5

Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.

In the 23rd Psalms, the psalmist speaks of a table. It was not just any old table but a prepared table. When someone prepares something, they generally are expecting someone to show up or something to happen. The psalmist made it clear that the one who was doing the preparing was the Shepherd.

The word prepare is defined as; to take the necessary action to put something into a state where it is fit for use or action, or for a particular event or purpose.

It is very obvious to those who know the Lord and are familiar with His character and nature that He is not a haphazard God. God is very orderly and organized. God never just throws things together and hope it all works out alright. Everything God does has purpose, power, and passion. Therefore, when we think of a table that has been prepared by God, we must think and imagine on a higher level. We must consider who is preparing this table and the resources that they have to do what they are doing.

Now, there are people in this world who have lots of money and earthly resources but they don’t have the nature of God. God is an extravagant giver. He is not stingy nor is He greedy. The earth is the Lord’s and the fullness thereof. God’s resources and supplies are unlimited; they are inexhaustible.

God is gracious and always looking for ways to bless and overflow people’s lives with abundance. God is Love and Love manifests itself through giving. God is never selfish; He is not trying to hoard things for Himself.

The scripture declares that the Shepherd prepares a table before you. Now, notice it doesn’t say “He prepares a table and sits you at the table”. No, it says “He prepares a table before you”. This could mean either that He is getting it ready as you are looking or that He put an already prepared table right in front of you.

In the natural, when you are expecting a guest for dinner, you prepare the table with your guest in mind. You particularly pay attention to what they like and also in love, what they need. The table that God prepares for us is right before us. It’s not hidden or covered…it’s right there. Now, He is putting this table in front of you so that you can benefit from what’s on it. But if you never go sit down and start partaking of its bounty, you will only be a spectator. We can shout about the table, dance about the table, tell other people how pretty the table is, yet never sit down and enjoy what’s on the table ourselves.

Whatever God puts on your table is for you. Because the Shepherd knows His sheep, your table is stacked just for you. When you sit down at your table, you will never need to look across the room to see if your neighbor got more or better things than you. The Good Shepherd will always provide lavishly for each and every sheep. There may even be something’s you see on your table that you may think surely the Shepherd has made a mistake this should be on so and so’s table not your table. But rest assured God knows exactly what He has put on your table. So don’t fret, just dig right in and start eating. Know that everything on that table is for you and that it is good.

Make sure that you don’t get distracted by your enemies that are standing around watching you partake from your table. Don’t let fear or intimidation stop you from eating. Don’t let guilt harass you into the sense realm. It will have you saying things like, “But I feel bad about prospering right in front of them and they are just standing there with nothing.” The enemy of guilt and shame will use manipulation and pity to try and make you get up from your table and serve them. God is no respecter of persons, if they are truly God’s sheep, the best thing you can do for them is to tell them to stop staring at you and go over to their own table and enjoy the things God has prepared for them.

Don’t wait for the people next to you to start eating before you start. Although that is a human courtesy, it has nothing to do with your spiritual supply. We honor God when we scoot up to the table and enjoy what he has placed before us. He has prepared and begin to dig in by faith and enjoy all that He has prepared.

There is nothing like seeing someone who is hungry set down at a table you have prepared for them and they just make themselves at home, enjoy every bite with a smile. These are those who don’t mind asking for second helpings and you always know they will be back because they were satisfied at the table. Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good, you’ll always come back for more.

It makes the cook smile!

Breaking Tradition!

Mark 7:8-9, 13

For laying aside the commandment of God, ye hold the tradition of men, as the washing of pots and cups: and many other such like things ye do. And he said unto them, Full well ye reject the commandment of God, that ye may keep your own tradition.

Making the word of God of none effect through your tradition, which ye have delivered: and many such like things do ye.

Many of our cultural and religious traditions nullify the effectiveness of God’s Word in our lives. Traditions in and of themselves are not sinful, it’s only when they contradict the Word of God or distract someone from His God given assignment.

Tradition defined:

  •  The handing down of patterns of behavior, practices, and beliefs that are valued by a culture.
  •  A long-established action or pattern of behavior in a community or group of people, often one that has been handed down from generation to generation.

As you can see traditions are generally ingrained in a person’s soul and become a part of their everyday life. Traditions are valued and esteemed by many cultures. In many cultures, to break tradition could result in a person being ostracized from the entire family or community. Rejection is a very unpleasant, unwelcome evil to experience; therefore many people do whatever they must to avoid its bite.

Traditions are established by people and are handed down from generation to generation. Jesus said that traditions of men can make the word of God of no effect. When our traditions go against the Word of God it is time to make some changes and make them quick. God gave us His Word and He intended for His Word to be our standard. God’s Word is the only thing that should govern our spirit, soul and body.

Many times a person can have a religious tradition such as going to church every Sunday just because that was their family practice while they were growing up. They may not even be born again but, because this was a family tradition, they continue to practice it faithfully not realizing that just going to church does not give a person a right relationship with God. They practice outwardly something they don’t possess inwardly. Their faithfulness is the result of conformation not transformation.

Therefore their heart is not right and the Word of God has no effect in their life.

Examine your life today. What traditions do you keep that hinder God’s Word from being effective in your life? It is time to breakout of tradition and fulfill all the will of God for your life, today!

The Greater One

1 John 4:4

Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.

The word “greater” is synonymous with words like bigger, superior, larger and better. The above scripture reveals to us, children of God, that the reason we are over comers is not because we are great in and of ourselves, but because of He who is greater in us. There is one who lives in us who is God–God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. These three persons are great therefore they make us over comers.

We must remember that we are in the world , but the world is not in us. God is in us. It is not what is on the outside of a person that makes the person who they are, it’s what and who is on the inside. God is bigger, better, superior and larger in comparison to any and everything that is in the world.

Notice that this scripture says “than he“, indicating that this is a being. The “he” that is in the world is our enemy Satan. He opposes God, but he is inferior on all levels to God. Satan has never been equal or nowhere near God’s level of being. The scripture reminds us that there is no one like God. He is God alone, Majestic and Awesome in all His ways. God is Greater in you than he that boast himself to be great in the world. So, Rejoice and be exceedingly glad God, Himself lives in you. What an awesome revelation!

Look…and then Look Again!

Acts 17:11

These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.

Search defined:

• To discover, come to know, or find something by examination.

The above scriptures declares that it is right and honorable to search or examine the words of God. Not in a critical way of examining something, but wanting to experience it for yourself type of examination. We know that God cannot lie, so we are never to question what He says. But Jesus said “go ahead and look at what I said for yourselves”. Jesus said “read the scriptures because they testify of me”.

Many times people are willing to listen to another person’s testimony because they want to know more about that person or hear what they went through to get where they are in life. Yet, many times as Christian’s, we won’t read the word of God to hear His testimony and what He went through for us.

Search the scriptures means to not just casually glance at them, but to have an intense exploration of the true treasures of God. The word of God is our delight and we should never grow weary of searching its pages. Go ahead and wear out your bible pages from continued searching and finding and searching and finding. God will never have us searching and never finding, He is always so eager to freely give to those who seek Him. Look and then look some more, God can show you new things that you’ve never seen before.

Perfect Love!

1John 4:14-19 (AMP)

And [besides] we ourselves have seen (have deliberately and steadfastly contemplated) and bear witness that the Father has sent the Son [as the] Savior of the world. Anyone who confesses (acknowledges, owns) that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides (lives, makes His home) in him and he [abides, lives, makes his home] in God. And we know (understand, recognize, are conscious of, by observation and by experience) and believe (adhere to and put faith in and rely on) the love God cherishes for us. God is love, and he who dwells and continues in love dwells and continues in God, and God dwells and continues in him. In this [union and communion with Him] love is brought to completion and attains perfection with us, that we may have confidence for the day of judgment [with assurance and boldness to face Him], because as He is, so are we in this world. There is no fear in love [dread does not exist], but full-grown (complete, perfect) love [a]turns fear out of doors and expels every trace of terror! For fear [b]brings with it the thought of punishment, and [so] he who is afraid has not reached the full maturity of love [is not yet grown into love’s complete perfection]. We love Him, because He first loved us.

God’s love is perfect. He has placed that love in our heart for our benefit and victory. There is no fear, imperfection or any form of darkness in love. God’s love is pure and undefiled, that’s why it can over throw and rule over every kind of darkness. Fear has no place in love. Fear cannot withstand or resist loves dominion. Love is King. Love is Almighty. Love has all power and authority. It is so important that we deepen and cultivate our love union with God. We must seek to know love in a more deeper way and to experience it’s fullness. Wake up every morning and begin to stir yourself in the love of God. Remind yourself how much God loves you and seek to grow in that love, everyday.

Pursuing Your Heavenly Calling!

Hebrews 3:1-3 (AMP)

SO THEN, brethren, consecrated and set apart for God, who share in the heavenly calling, [thoughtfully and attentively] consider Jesus, the Apostle and High Priest Whom we confessed [as ours when we embraced the Christian faith]. [See how] faithful He was to Him Who appointed Him [Apostle and High Priest], as Moses was also faithful in the whole house [of God]. Yet Jesus has been considered worthy of much greater honor and glory than Moses, just as the builder of a house has more honor than the house [itself].

We, Christians, are possessors of the nature of the Almighty God. We are heirs and joint heirs with Jesus Christ. We believe that God has a plan and purpose for our lives, but yet many die without fulfilling even a fraction of that plan.

The scripture text for our blog today says we have a Heavenly calling. The plans and purposes God has for each life may not be popular, it may not even seem logical in the natural because it’s, heavenly. Jesus would have never fulfilled His earthly course if He was trying to make it fit in with natural human reasoning. Man had a different plan and course for Jesus life, but He refused to veer from the Father’s plan.

Natural man did not understand nor favor the course God had for Jesus, His own Son. Many people tried to stop Him and talk Him out of it, but He stayed loyal to His Fathers will. Be cautious about trying to redirect other people’s lives just because it doesn’t make sense to you. If God is not directing you to tell them to go another way, don’t be an accomplice to the devils plan to shipwreck or confuse someone else’s course just because it doesn’t appear right to you. After Jesus revealed to His disciplines the course the Father had given Him to fulfill, Peter piped up and rebuked Jesus.

“Then Peter took Him aside to speak to Him privately and began to reprove and charge Him sharply, saying, God forbid, Lord! This must never happen to You!  Matthew 16:22 AMP

Peter was very sincere in his human efforts to try to help Jesus fulfill his destiny, but he was sincerely wrong. Every person’s destiny is very precious and vital; we should always seek God through prayer and His word before we begin counseling people about their destinies. You never want to be held accountable for someone getting off course because of what you thought their course should look like.

God has different paths and administrations of the Spirit for different people. We must let God be God. A Heavenly calling is just that…Heavenly. It comes from God not man. The scripture says “we are all partakers”.

Once we seek God and find out what our part is in the body of Christ, we must go forward with fervor and passion not allowing other people’s opinions to stop our progress. God loves you and has a specific plan for your life, but you must diligently seek Him with a pure heart. He will reveal to you what you need to know, where you need to go and any other specifics you may need to know. Just go and flow with the Holy Ghost, He is your guide! Be faithful to God and do all that He entrust to you to do, with a joyful heart. Stay excited about the things God has given you to do, so that He can fulfill His plans through your life and be glorified. Press in to fulfill the heavenly calling in your life, today!

Late Night Snacks!

Sometimes we can get hungry at the strangest times, like in the middle of the night or close to bedtime. There you sit minding your own business getting ready to retire for the night and…bam!
Your stomach begins to growl. You think to yourself, “surely I couldn’t be hungry I just ate 4 hours ago!”

However your body is now crying out and demanding to be fed. What do you do, feed it or deny it?

This can also apply to our spirit man. Our spirit has the same or many times a greater demand for nourishment then our physical bodies. When our bodies are active, many times they require and demand more calories, kind of like supply and demand. When you expend spiritual energy, so to speak, you require more spiritual food to maintain soundness and effectiveness. When you are spiritually active, it is not unusual for your spirit to wake your mind and body in the middle of the night for a late night Hallelujah snack. What do you do, feed it or deny it?
