Someone’s Watching!

1 Timothy 4:12 (AMP)

Let no one despise or think less of you because of your youth, but be an example (pattern) for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, and in purity.

Example defined:

• A person, action, or thing taken as a model to be copied or avoided by others.

• Something that is representative by virtue of having typical features of the thing it represents.

Christians are to be representatives of heaven. We are Ambassadors for the Kingdom of God. Our life should be patterned according to the standards revealed to us in God’s Word. We should seek to live a life that someone else would want to emulate.

Paul instructed Timothy in the scripture above to be an example in five areas;

• Speech

• Conduct

• Love

• Faith

• Purity

All of these things can be visibly seen or heard by other believers and unbelievers. People are watching the way you live and they should. We are the Light of the World. Jesus invested too much for our light to be hid under a bushel.

The example you live before others can affect people’s lives for generations. Let us briefly examine our lives in the five areas mentioned above.

Speech – What am I saying from my mouth in front of others that I would want them to repeat?

Conduct– What behaviors, attitudes, or habits do I consistently display before others and am I willing to mentor others in these same behaviors, attitudes and habits?

Love– Is my life an example of the love of God for others to see and hear?

Faith– The scripture mentions on a number of occasions that Jesus saw people’s faith. Can your faith be seen and followed by others as an example of true faith in God.

Purity– Is your life an example of Godly purity?

Someone is watching you. What do they see? Whose mirror will you be? Endeavor to live a life that you would want to see imitated in the people most precious to you.

Faith is the Answer to Any Satanic Attack!

Ephesians 6:16

Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.

The shield of faith is both an offensive and defensive weapon given to the Body of Christ by God. This weapon is fail proof. It is unbeatable and unstoppable. The devil’s strategies and attacks are no match for its unquenchable force. The above scripture reveals to us that the shield of faith is the answer to every Satanic assault because it quenches all the fiery darts of the wicked. That’s right, ALL. The Holy Ghost revealed to Paul’s readers that it didn’t matter that the darts were fiery, they were still quenched.

Fiery defined:

• burning or full of fire

It is the same as scorching, blistering, sweltering, sizzling, blazing, flaming and hot.

The word quench means to put out or extinguish a fire or a light. It doesn’t matter how hot the situation or pressure may be, your faith can put it out. Jesus prayed for Peter that his faith would not fail because Satan was desiring to sift him as wheat. Jesus knew the only thing that could quench Satan’s fiery darts against Peter was his faith.

The scriptures remind us in Isaiah 54 that “no weapon formed against us shall be able to prosper”. Why? Because faith stops it’s progress and nullifies its attack. Take courage child of God and know that there is no weapon of darkness that can defeat or paralyze our faith; it is impenetrable. Faith comes by hearing the word of God. So keep your shield of faith up by staying full of the word of God. Wear it faithfully! It will never rust or corrupt, you can never outgrow it, and it will always fit like a glove!

So go ahead and be courageous in your armor of God it is tried and true, it will always protect you.

Be True to Yourself!!

In a world where everything has become acceptable and blindly tolerable, you must decide and take a stand for what is permissible for you. Be true to yourself by choosing the only standard that will bring a favorable eternal outcome. Being true to yourself means being honest in your own heart. If you are not up to par in your walk with God, then just admit it then make the adjustments and grow up and move forward. We all know it is miserable to be out of the will of God. Many times you can see the distress and void on people’s faces. They pretend to be having a good time (spiritually and naturally). They smile, yet all the while they are kicking against the pricks of their God given destiny. They try to engage in vain amusements and mind cluttering activities so they won’t have to think about the sorrow and emptiness that press daily on their hearts.

Being true to yourself means to stop the facade and get off the roller coaster of worldliness. It means getting down to business with you. It means pointing your own finger in your own face and saying stop, no more pretenses, it’s all or nothing, I chose to go forward.

Being true to yourself means staying with your decision to obey God no matter what anybody else chooses to do.

Being true to yourself means stepping back and letting God take the lead in your life. We can do nothing without God yet we can do all things through Him.

The Wall!

Walls divide and hide pride. Walls separate. Walls block. Walls hedge in or out. Walls fortify. Walls enclose. Walls can either trap you in or keep them out. Walls can be good or evil. What kind of walls have you allowed to form in your life over the years? Are those walls preventing you from going forward toward your God given destiny?

It is amazing that sometimes people think God will just come in their lives and start automatically tearing down walls, but He won’t. God will not touch or bother anything in your life unless you ask or allow Him to. God is not a thief nor is He a robber. You must be willing to allow and welcome Him into your life affairs; He won’t just come in and take over.

God loves you and He wants your life free from every obstacle so that you can go forward and pursue and do the will of God concerning you. God knows that if you continue to allow these walls to dominate in your life that it can someday hinder your relationship with Him. So you must value your union and fellowship with God above these walls you have built.

God is your only help and protection, those walls are not protecting you from anything. They are trying to keep you from your real source, which is God. Maybe you have allowed those walls to be a sort of crutch for years and you depended and relied on them. They may even have seemed like they were actually helping you, but they cannot help. These walls don’t possess the power to help you, they are empty, just down-right hollow.

Don’t put your trust in this false security, trust in the Lord because He will never fail you. It’s time for the walls to come down in the Name of Jesus! Begin to meditate upon the Word of God, especially Mark 11:22-26 and then start speaking to that wall and it will be removed from your life. Be Bold and Be Courageous, God is on your side! Don’t be deceived by pride because it will make your foot slide into a pit of destruction. Obey God and be free at last from the walls of your past.

Late Night Snacks!

Sometimes we can get hungry at the strangest times, like in the middle of the night or close to bedtime. There you sit minding your own business, getting ready to retire for the night and…bam!

Your stomach begins to growl. You think to yourself, “surely I couldn’t be hungry I just ate 4 hours ago!”

However your body is now crying out and demanding to be fed. What do you do, feed it or deny it?

This can also apply to our spirit man. Our spirit has the same or many times a greater demand for nourishment then our physical bodies. When our bodies are active, many times they require and demand more calories, kind of like supply and demand. When you expend spiritual energy, so to speak, you require more spiritual food to maintain soundness and effectiveness. When you are spiritually active, it is not unusual for your spirit to wake your mind and body in the middle of the night for a late night Hallelujah snack. What do you do, feed it or deny it?

Psalms 23:4

Psalms 23: 4

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.

Have you ever been on a dark highway where there were no other lights but your headlights going before you? If you look in your rear-view mirror, you’ll see a path of darkness behind you. Your tail lights were not placed on your car to provide light for you to see the road behind you, they only aid people behind you to see you as they approach you.

God never gave us light to look backward, only light to go forward. If you glance to the left and to the right out of your car windows as you drive forward you’ll notice the fields are dark as well. Remember to keep your focus and sight on the light before you. Darkness can be intriguing, mystical, alluring and sometimes quite hypnotic. Never allow darkness to draw you in through mere curiosity.

Night travel requires tremendous concentration because your vision is limited to where the light shines. The world is dark and getting darker, but remember there is light before you. So follow God’s light and appreciate and cherish His rod and staff that bring comfort to you.

Are You Increasing?

Luke 2:52 (AMP)

And Jesus increased in wisdom (in broad and full understanding) and in stature and years, and in favor with God and man.

Jesus increased. He did not stay the same year after year, His life bore fruit of progress. He was not stagnant. Sometime people just talk a good talk, yet their life has no fruit of real change or increase. They make no effort to see increase in their life. They do the same things from year to year, yet they expect different results in their lives. They want results that they see others have who are really do what it takes to get results. In all reality their spirit man has not grown for years.

The will of God for every child of God is that we increase in every area of life. Our increasing gives witness of God’s goodness. We become a living testimony that the Word of God is true. The bible tells us that God proved His love to us. God is always seeking ways to prove His love in our lives. God is a good God. Our lives should bear fruit of His goodness. There is so much more for you. Rise up in the grace of God and increase. God is on your side, fear not, He will not allow your foot to slide. Be bold and seek His face and glorify Him in your race. The day will soon come when we will all see His face. Rise up and take your place, you an on the increase in Christ Jesus!

Let the Thunder Roll!

Job 40:9

Hast thou an arm like God? or canst thou thunder with a voice like him?

The bible tells us in the book of Job that God’s voice can sound like thunder! How awesome is that?!

Whenever there is a thunder storm, I am quickly reminded of that verse and comforted in it’s meaning.

God is not destructive with His power, He is AWESOME and CREATIVE! We oftentimes stereo-type things by hearsay or ignorance. I don’t believe God created thunder and lightening to be destructive. God is a good God. God is Love! He is a protector not a violator. Everything God made in the Genesis account was said of God to be good. There is a Heavenly beauty in seeing lightening and hearing thunder. It is not a frightening sound but rather a sound of dominion.

When the bible describes Gods voice sounding like thunder, to me it denotes ruler-ship and authority over all. I think the sound of thunder is majestic and glorious. As a matter of fact, I enjoy watch thunder storms from a nice big picture window………….it is so cool! When I was a little girl, I used to lay out on the front porch with my eyes facing the sky and daydream and imagine the clouds to be different animal. This was a very peaceful pass time for me, I truly enjoyed it.

So the next time you hear the thunder roar, stop and reflect on its sound and Praise God for His wondrous works among the children of men!

I Look Just Like…?

Who do you look like? If you could compare your character and personality with someone, who would you resemble? What people have you allowed to mold your thoughts and your ways?

Many times people look like who they are around or listen to the most. Can you see and hear resemblances in your words and your chooses from particular influences from your past?

If you are a parent, who influenced the way you interact with your children? Who influenced the way you live your life or the way you cultivate your marriage?

Can you see God in your ways and words? Do you look like the Father God? Can you see a resemblance of God in your personality?

You can quickly locate a person when they have spent time in fellowship with God because they look and act like Him. You also can locate a person when they lack fellowship with God. When Christian’s talk and act like the world most of the time it locates who they spent time with and who they are loyal to. Jesus said we are in the world but not of the world. Jesus said that we are to love not the world.

Love bonds us together with things and people creating an open door for soul influences. People tend to open their lives quicker and without hesitation or question to people they trust or esteem. This can even be with people they have never met like TV personalities and people in authoritative positions.

Examine who you are allowing to influence your words and your ways.

If it doesn’t look like God or act like God or sound like God it isn’t God.

John 8:43-45 (AMP)

Why do you misunderstand what I say? It is because you are unable to hear what I am saying. [You cannot bear to listen to My message; your ears are shut to My teaching.] You are of your father, the devil, and it is your will to practice the lusts and gratify the desires [which are characteristic] of your father. He was a murderer from the beginning and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a falsehood, he speaks what is natural to him, for he is a liar [himself] and the father of lies and of all that is false. But because I speak the truth, you do not believe Me [do not trust Me, do not rely on Me, or adhere to Me].

Stop Tripping!

Stumble defined:

• To trip when walking or running.

• To walk unsteadily, as if intoxicated.

Have you ever seen someone walking and BAM, they just trip or stumble? You quickly look to see what they stumbled over and nothing was there. Then you look up at them with sort of a puzzled look on your face. The person who seemed to have tripped over thin air will normally have an embarrassed look on their face as well.

Many things in life can cause people to stumble, sometimes things that are actually invisible to the naked eye. Nobody else could see it, but it was real none the less. There you are walking along life’s narrow path, just whistling a merry tune and minding your own business, two seconds later you’re on the ground.

“What was that and where did it come from?” You thought to yourself. You look at your body, and to your surprise find many cuts and bruises. Who could have done such a careless thing as to leave something lying there right in your path? You get up, dust yourself off, look around to see if anyone saw you then proceed to get back on the path as if nothing ever happened. Unfortunately, two blocks down the path and you’re back on the ground. Why didn’t you stop the first time to see what was causing you to stumble and fall? Just because you didn’t see anything with the natural eye doesn’t mean nothing was there.

Christians must stay awake and alert; we have an unseen (with the naked eye) enemy. We should not be getting caught off guard every other day. Our enemy is persistent and if he knows that you tripped once from something that he did, he will try it again and again and again. You must stay full of the Word of God and the Spirit of God. YOU DON’T HAVE TO KEEP TRIPPIN! God, our God, can keep you from trippin, stumbling and falling! We need to keep our spiritual eyes open big and wide so that we can see clearly where our feet are landing. Look……….. because sometimes the dogs mess on the path and you need to know when to step over the enemies mess and keep on truckin.

Jude 1:24-25 (AMP)

Now to Him Who is able to keep you without stumbling or slipping or falling, and to present [you] unblemished (blameless and faultless) before the presence of His glory in triumphant joy and exultation [with unspeakable, ecstatic delight]—

To the one only God, our Savior through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory (splendor), majesty, might and dominion, and power and authority, before all time and now and forever (unto all the ages of eternity). Amen (so be it).
