Weapons that Win

2Corinthians 10:4-5

For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;

When you are faced with a tough situation, what weapons do you use? When someone wrongs you, do you reach for the weapon of retaliation and revenge or do you reach for forgiveness and peace? When life circumstances seem impossible what weapons do you reach for? Do you reach for self-pity, food,  medication, human confirmation or do you reach for the word of God and see yourself as God sees you? Do you reach for assurance and confirmation in His Word? The weapons of our warfare are not natural human weapons but our weapons are spiritual and they are from the Father God, who always wins!

We must use these weapons from God to reject, resist and remove every thought and imagination that opposes God’s will in our lives. We must use these weapons to maintain our enemies defeat. God did not leave us here on the earth without protection and provision. He did not leave us here to be a victim of the enemy. We have weapons that win!

Speak to those Dry Bones

Ezekiel 37: 3-6

And he said unto me, Son of man, can these bones live? And I answered, O Lord GOD, thou knowest. Again he said unto me, Prophesy upon these bones, and say unto them, O ye dry bones, hear the word of the LORD. Thus saith the Lord GOD unto these bones; Behold, I will cause breath to enter into you, and ye shall live: And I will lay sinews upon you, and will bring up flesh upon you, and cover you with skin, and put breath in you, and ye shall live; and ye shall know that I am the LORD.

God showed Ezekiel a situation that seemed impossible in the natural. God showed him a valley of old dead bones. Now these bones that God showed Ezekiel were not only old and dry but they were scattered all over the valley. God asked Ezekiel a very crucial question because the prophets’ answer would determine if God could use him in this situation. God needed Ezekiel to be open to do and believe whatever He said. Ezekiel must had known possibly by experience or good teaching that whenever God asked you a question we need to ask Him what the answer is not lean to our own understanding. We must be willing to trust and accept whatever God says and agree with Him. If God says no then we say no, if God says yes then we say yes, if God says stop then we must stop and not go one inch further. God performed a great miracle through the prophet because He obeyed God’s command. What would have been totally impossible in human ability God made a reality through one man’s faith in God. Ezekiel did exactly what God told him to do and he saw exactly what God said He would do.

Sometimes in our lives we may be faced with situations that seem down -right impossible but God has a word for every impossible situation. When we take the time to hear what God has to say and then say only what He commands us to say we will always see favorable results. It is impossible for God to lie, so if God says it, it shall come to pass. If you read the whole chapter of Ezekiel 37 you will see that when God began to perform this miracle through Ezekiel there was a part when the miracle was not complete. Everything had happen just like God said but there was no breath yet. God had said that He would put breath in them. However Ezekiel did not fret, murmur or complain. He did not settle for 95% either because He knew God was not a 95% God. Ezekiel waited on the word of God to command him in what to do next and God spoke and told him what to do. Ezekiel did not get in pride and try to do it himself, no; he waited on God because he knew God was not finished. God fully expects to do everything He says not just half but all.

We must stay in faith and allow God to accomplish His full complete will in our lives as well. We must not run ahead of God or try to figure things out for ourselves we must trust God. God is not a man that He should lie, He will always keep His word, and He will always do what He said He would do, 100%.

Be Not Deceived

Galatians 6:7-8

Do not be deceived and deluded and misled; God will not allow Himself to be sneered at (scorned, disdained, or mocked by mere pretensions or professions, or by His precepts being set aside.) [He inevitably deludes himself who attempts to delude God.] For whatever a man sows, that and that only is what he will reap.

For he who sows to his own flesh (lower nature, sensuality) will from the flesh reap decay and ruin and destruction, but he who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life.

Deceived defined:

• To mislead or deliberately hide the truth from somebody

• To convince yourself of something that is not true

The worst kind of deception is self deception. The scripture warns us not to be deceived because God is not mocked. If we live a life of pretense we will reap the results.

It is deception to think you will receive things only obtained by faith, yet you don’t live a life governed by faith. It is deception to think you will receive the benefits of prayer when you never spend time with God. To pretend that you are doing something and you really aren’t is insanity. Many times people try to pretend they are people of prayer but the only time they pray is when they are around other people of prayer. They live a life of mere outward show and lip service. We must be honest with ourselves and examine our lives and motives before we are caught holding the bag of pretense. If we are true to our own heart we will examine our lives and make the necessary adjustments and begin to live a life untainted by deception.

Healed by the Power of Love

God is such a wonderful loving Heavenly Father. His love is so incredible and truly incomprehensible. God’s love brings healing to the spirit, soul and body. It matters not who you are or where you come from, God loves you so very much. God’s love is unconditional and it is non-condemning.

One definition of the word heal is to repair or restore. Heal also can mean to get rid of a wrong, evil, or painful affliction.

God’s love can repair and restore anything. Maybe you have had somethings taken from you in the past however don’t allow wrong feelings to corrupt you future, just allow God’s unfailing love restore you of the lost. Maybe you are hurting with deep emotional pain, I want you to know that God loves you and wants to bring supernatural joy and peace into your life. Even if it is physical pain that you have been suffering from know this God’s love heals.

Love is a gift that we must be willing to receive in order for it to benefit our lives. But know this, God will always love you even if you don’t receive or respond to His love for you. There is nothing that you could ever do to stop Him from loving you. That’s right, no matter what you’ve done in the past, present or future God will always love you. However you must choose to love Him back, He will never force you. God’s love for you is not like human love, His love will never end. When you choose to allow the Love of God in your life you choose healing!

John 3:16-17

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

The Harvest of Blessing

Philippians 4:15-17 (AMP)

And you Philippians yourselves well know that in the early days of the Gospel ministry, when I left Macedonia, no church (assembly) entered into partnership with me and opened up [a debit and credit] account in giving and receiving except you only. For even in Thessalonica you sent [me contributions] for my needs, not only once but a second time. Not that I seek or am eager for [your] gift, but I do seek and am eager for the fruit which increases to your credit [the harvest of blessing that is accumulating to your account].

What’s in your account? Have you checked you balance lately? Do you keep an accurate register of all withdraws and all deposits?

Paul was talking to the saints in Philippi about giving and receiving. Now we know, Paul was speaking expressly concerning natural financial giving and receiving but I believe there is a dual meaning here, spiritual and natural. The Philippian church partnered with Paul and supported him financially yet they reaped from God’s supernatural store house in the spirit realm. For Paul let them know that God would supply all their needs according to His riches in glory. So we see here that even though these Christian’s were giving something of natural origin, such as money, their harvest originated from a spiritual source, God. They were working a spiritual principal set for by God.

Whenever you obey God and take Him at His word you are in for a great blessing. God takes notice when we obey His Word. He will personally take responsibility for your harvest.

If you have been obeying God’s word, no matter what the particular area, there are blessings accumulating to your account. But sometimes people don’t know what’s in their account because they never check the balance or maybe they are looking in the wrong places. God is faithful to His word and if we obey His word we will receive increase, spiritual and natural. God is no respecter of persons, He will bless whosoever will believe and act upon His word. God just says, “Have faith in God.”

Most accounts are opened or established with the intent of depositing and withdrawing. In the natural we are accustomed to managing our own accounts and being in charge of everything. However, as Christian’s, children of the Most High God, we are now operating in a whole new kingdom, The Kingdom of God and in His Kingdom He ruleth over all. He is the King! Whenever we give or receive in His Kingdom we must do it with the understanding that it all originated from Him. He gives us seed to sow then He provides the power for it to grow then He fills your storehouses or accounts to overflow! God will and does supply! We just need to cooperate with His system and His plan.

Go ahead enter you security code and access your heavenly account and check out what’s been deposited into your account, the account that’s attached to obedience that is.

Don’t Be Fooled By What You See

One year I was preparing some of my traditional dishes for our family’s Thanksgiving dinner. One of the cakes that I baked came out of the oven looking very tasty and quite pretty but within minutes it began to look like something from a horror movie. I thought to myself what in the world happened but because I have been baking for many years I did not fret. I knew that sometimes the ugliest cakes taste the best. I was not concerned about the outward appearance I just wanted to be sure all the ingredients were working together to bring forth a delightful experience to my taste buds. This particular cake is my youngest daughters’ favorite, it is a red velvet cake, and my oldest daughter likes the German chocolate cake so of course I generally bake both cakes for the holidays.

We sampled the cake to be sure it was up to standard and of course it was delicious. Although the outward appearance was somewhat unpleasant to behold the ingredients made up the difference.

So as you go about your day don’t forget to never judge a book by its cover but rather open it and sample the contents, you may be quite surprised at the inner treasures you find inside.

Praying the Will of God

In a Sunday morning service at the Correctional facility here in Kansas, I began a series on Prayer. I believe prayer is the answer to every question, problem or situation (good or bad), we may experience in life. The scriptures reveal to us that we should pray in everything: Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. Philippians 4:6

Notice in this scripture that God is instructing us to pray in everything. Your situation does not need human advice or opinion, it needs God’s wisdom and counsel, and that is acquired by asking (praying) for it (James 1:5). Psalms 1, also tells us that; blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly …  Well,  the word ungodly is anything that does not agree with God’s plans and purposes, anything opposed to God’s ways and His thoughts. It takes faith to live a blessed, victorious life, it doesn’t just happen, even though, it is God’s will for our lives.

Hebrews 11: 6 says, But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them who diligently seek him.

Seeking is a form of prayer that God has made available to us so that we can communicate effectively with Him, but we must participate. Matthew 7:7-8 says, Ask and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.

As we further study the scriptures, it clearly teaches us that we must ask (pray) according to His will (1 John 5:14-15); God’s will is His Word. Now we see that we must pray (ask) according to God’s Word, His plans and purposes, if we want to have good success in everything. It’s not according to our natural human understanding, our lives should be directed by the Spirit of God and the Word of God; and by the way, they both agree with each other. Proverbs 3:5-6 says we should; Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.  In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

We need to trust God, in everything! We demonstrate our trust through prayer. We choose not to carry the burdens, and/or successes of life on our own shoulders. We refuse to be anxious and worry; however, we choose to trust the Lord, and carry everything to God in prayer.

Isn’t it time to make that commitment today, He is waiting to hear from you.

Thirsty for More of God

God longs to quench your thirst with more of Him.

Psalms 107:8-9

Oh that men would praise the LORD for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men! For he satisfieth the longing soul, and filleth the hungry soul with goodness.

We are Gods temple His dwelling place. He said He would come in and make His abode in us. But even though someone lives in the same house as you do sometimes we can become so distracted and preoccupied by life’s trivialities that we don’t enjoy those living right in our own house. God’s purpose in us is to manifest Himself to us. Let the God in you, overflow you with Himself today! He is more than enough. Enjoy!

Satisfy defined: to do or offer enough to make somebody feel pleased or content

Psalms 103:5

Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle’s.

Refreshing Reflections

Today is a good day to meditate on a Psalms. Psalms bring delight and melody to our day. They keep us in remembrance of the good things our God has done and the wonderful promises yet to be fulfilled. Revisit Psalms 23, today and let it speak to your spirit, soul and body. It will bring a refreshing reflection of God’s faithfulness regardless of your present circumstances. So say it with me out loud and meditate and partake of its power. It will renew and confirm your faith in this hour.

Psalms 23

The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.

Oh, how good it is to eat the bread of life!

Spiritual Eclipse

A lunar eclipse occurs when the moon passes behind the earth so that the earth blocks the sun’s rays from striking the moon. This can occur only when the Sun, Earth, and Moon are aligned exactly, or very closely so, with the Earth in the middle. Hence, there is always a full moon the night of a lunar eclipse. A lunar eclipse can last for a few hours.

I really like looking at a full moon I think there is something majestic about its beauty. I think it would be quit fascinating to see a lunar eclipse, what a sight to behold.

1 Corinthians 15:41

There is one glory of the sun, and another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars: for one star differeth from another star in glory.

God did not create the moon for us to worship but rather to see the glory that it brings to us in the earth. The moon is a light-bearer it brings light into the night. When the eclipse takes place the light from the sun that usually shines forth to illuminate the moon will be temporarily block by the earth. When light is blocked or impede then darkness prevails. The only way this interception of light can take place is that the earth, which is naturally dark, comes in between the two forms of light. Can you see the spiritual parallel? When something dark wants to block light from getting to something or someone it will try to align itself so that it is in the middle to impede the light from shining through. Darkness can come in many forms for instance it can come as a word, image or thought. This word, image or thought is sent to block light. When we agree or align ourselves with this wrong thought, image or word we then allow it to block light. God maybe trying to get answers and direction to you so that you can go forward and fulfill His plan and purposes in your life but that dark word, image or thought stands in the way. The kingdom of darkness may have sent a word, thought or image of failure, disgust, pride, envy, jealousy, disappointment, anger, infidelity, etc., causing a delay in progress, you can’t go forward because there is no light shining in the path. However you must be aggressive and never let the darkness step in between you and the light. Let the light shine and prevent eclipses in your life!
