Have a Bite to Eat, The Meal is On Me

The Bible tells us that man shall not live by bread alone but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God. How many times have you eaten today in the natural to supply your physical body with nourishment and strength? How many times today have you feed your spiritual man with bread from heaven to supply strength and nourishment?

Well, come on and sit down at the table with me for a few minutes and have a bite to eat. Come on dig in! Don’t forget to pray before you eat and wipe your mouth when you are done. Enjoy!

PAUL, AN apostle (special messenger) of Christ Jesus (the Messiah), by the divine will (the purpose and the choice of God) to the saints (the consecrated, set-apart ones) [a]at Ephesus who are also faithful and loyal and steadfast in Christ Jesus: May grace (God’s unmerited favor) and spiritual peace [which means peace with God and harmony, unity, and undisturbedness] be yours from God our Father and from the Lord Jesus Christ. May blessing (praise, laudation, and eulogy) be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ (the Messiah) Who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual (given by the Holy Spirit) blessing in the heavenly realm! Even as [in His love] He chose us [actually picked us out for Himself as His own] in Christ before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy (consecrated and set apart for Him) and blameless in His sight, even above reproach, before Him in love. For He foreordained us (destined us, planned in love for us) to be adopted (revealed) as His own children through Jesus Christ, in accordance with the purpose of His will [[b]because it pleased Him and was His kind intent]– [So that we might be] to the praise and the commendation of His glorious grace (favor and mercy), which He so freely bestowed on us in the Beloved.

In Him we have redemption (deliverance and salvation) through His blood, the remission (forgiveness) of our offenses (shortcomings and trespasses), in accordance with the riches and the generosity of His gracious favor, Which He lavished upon us in every kind of wisdom and understanding (practical insight and prudence), Making known to us the mystery (secret) of His will (of His plan, of His purpose). [And it is this:] In accordance with His good pleasure (His merciful intention) which He had previously purposed and set forth in [c]Him, [He planned] for the maturity of the times and the climax of the ages to unify all things and head them up and consummate them in Christ, [both] things in heaven and things on the earth. In Him we also were made [God’s] heritage (portion) and we obtained an inheritance; for we had been foreordained (chosen and appointed beforehand) in accordance with His purpose, Who works out everything in agreement with the counsel and design of His [own] will, So that we who first hoped in Christ [who first put our confidence in Him have been destined and appointed to] live for the praise of His glory! In Him you also who have heard the Word of Truth, the glad tidings (Gospel) of your salvation, and have believed in and adhered to and relied on Him, were stamped with the seal of the long-promised Holy Spirit. That [Spirit] is the guarantee of our inheritance [the firstfruits, the pledge and foretaste, the down payment on our heritage], in anticipation of its full redemption and our acquiring [complete] possession of it–to the praise of His glory.

Ephesians 1:1-14 (AMP).

The Mind Pt 2

God’s Word is alive!

Jesus said, His words were spirit and they were life. True life always produces good fruit. Good fruit consist of things that promote a vibrant victorious Christian life.

In order for the human mind to function effectively according to the original intent of it’s creator it must possess true life. Jesus declared in scripture that He was the Way, the Truth and the Life.

Having a sound mind is not possible without Christ. Jesus is the foundation from which all true life flows. The absences of life and light is death and darkness. When the mind has been darkened through the deceptive works of Satan we see people with troubling thoughts and guilt producing imaginations.

God is the one who created the mind, therefore, He is the only one qualified to fix it. God is the only one with the proper tools and equipment to bring lasting change to a weary unrenewed mind. God is a good God. He is a loving, gentle Father. God is not the author of confusion but of peace. He is not the one troubling your mind, He wants to renew or restore it back to His original intent. Our minds were created to think good thoughts just like our Heavenly Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

Philippians 4:8

Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things [are] honest, whatsoever things [are] just, whatsoever things [are] pure, whatsoever things [are] lovely, whatsoever things [are] of good report; if [there be] any virtue, and if [there be] any praise, think on these things.

The original creation of the mind by God was for good and not evil. God never intended for our mind to be an instrument for darkness to dominate or house its ungodly thoughts and imaginations.

Have you ever heard the saying, “the mind is the devils playground or the devils workshop?”

Well let me set the record straight, the mind was not created to be the devils workshop or his playground. Our minds were created by God as good ground and a workshop for His word to thrive, build, plant, create and orchestrate His will. We are to now think and imagine like God.

1 Corinthians 2:16 …but we have the mind of Christ.

The only thing that is capable of changing our minds back to God’s original intent is the one thing that created it in the first place. God upholds all things by the word of His power, Hebrews 1:3. In the beginning in Genesis we see God creating things with His words. The only force on this earth that can change the mind of man for the good is the Word of God.

Hebrews 4:12

For the word of God [is] quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and [is] a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

Remember God loves you and does not want you mind to be troubled or stressed, so, allow Him to begin the process of transformation in your life today. You will never regret the eternal results that await you. It is your time to live a life filled with perfect peace.

The Mind Pt 1

The mind:

  • seat of thought and memory
  • the center of consciousness that generates thoughts, feelings, ideas, and perceptions, and stores knowledge and memories

Romans 12:1-2

I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that  good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

When we are born again, God creates within us a new creation, a new man. In  2 Corinthians 5:17, Paul speaks of this new creation, which is our spirit, which is the real you. You are a spirit, you have a soul and you live in a body. Although most people are only body conscious, God created us as spirit beings.

The mind of man-kind is part of man’s soul, along with our will and emotions. The mind is not the spirit of man, therefore it was not re-created when we became Christian’s. In order for the mind of man to experience change or transformation we must begin a process called “renewing the mind,” according to; Romans 12:2.

The word transform is defined:

     •   To change into another form.

Synonyms for the word transform: change, alter, convert, make over, and renovate.

God wants to renovate your mind, isn’t that good news!

We can all make an appointment at God’s spiritual beauty shop (the bible) and get a mind make-over!

When sin entered into the world after man’s great transgression, our mind’s became corrupt, we no longer thought like God.

Genesis 6:5 gives a vivid picture of man’s mind after the fall.

  • And God saw that the wickedness of man [was] great in the earth, and [that] every imagination of the thoughts of his heart [was] only evil continually.

Our thoughts and imaginations were no longer pure like God’s thoughts; they had become tainted, poisoned, defiled through sin. (see Isaiah 55:8)

Renew

•To replace something that is worn, broken, or no longer suitable for use.

•To begin something or doing something again, or be begun again.

Once sin corrupted our minds, infecting our thoughts and imaginations, they were no longer suitable for use by God. God needed to begin again, so,  He gave us access to the mind of Christ through the the new birth and the impartation and revelation of His Word.

James 1:21

Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls.

Now that we are back in the family of God we have a right by inheritance to think like our Heavenly Father. The mind now has the liberty to return back to God’s original plan for which He created it. God never intended for man to have a confused, stressed, or oppressed mind. God never intended for man-kind to think evil against each other. God never intended for man-kind’s mind to be depressed or harassed by thoughts of failure, suicide, low self-esteem, guilt, shame, condemnation, fear, hopelessness, etc. God created our minds to be free from anxieties and fears, His intent was that we have a sound mind.

God loves you and His desire for you is that your mind would be filled with perfect peace, not chaos and strife.

The way that we obtain and maintain a mind filled with perfect peace is by saturating our minds with the Word of God ( read Isaiah 26:3).

God’s Word can Detoxify your mind, ridding it of the deadly toxins produced by sin. God’s Word will change the way you think and the things you think about. God’s Word will produce an atmosphere of calm in your thought life and create a sanctified  imagination. God’s Word will guard your mind from the perpetual eluciveness of fantasy while building a strong foundation of  stability and rest. God’s Word will allow you to lie down at night in peace and your sleep will be sweet.

Courage Vs Cowardice

Nehemiah 4:14

And I looked, and rose up, and said unto the nobles, and to the rulers, and to the rest of the people, Be not ye afraid of them: remember the LORD, which is great and terrible, and fight for your brethren, your sons, and your daughters, your wives, and your houses.

I love this scripture because it is for the family. In today’s society the family is many times talked about as if it is something not needed or optional. God created the family and He is for the family. The devil is a thief and a destroyer of relationships. God is a God of unity, peace and love. Love will never seek to tear apart or destroy a family. The above scripture is a scripture rooted and ground in the love of God. Love is not selfish; it does not seek its own way. Love fights diligently for what belongs to it. Many times people say that they are acting like God or doing something that supposedly He told them to do, yet it is not consistent with love. Jesus said, you will know a tree by the fruit it bears. Love will never abandon what belongs to it, love will always shelter and protect. No parent in their right mind would leave a child unguarded for someone to come along to destroy. Love will always stand guard to protect and not neglect. Jesus loved His disciples until the end even though they betrayed, forsook and denied Him. He never changed or compromised His love for them no matter how unfaithful they were to Him. Jesus never lowered His standard, He remained in unconditional love. Perfect love cast out fear.

The scripture above says be not afraid but remember the Lord. God will be your strength and shield; He will never allow you to fight alone. God has never lost a battle and He never will.

Courage defined:

• The ability to face danger, difficulty, uncertainty, or pain without being overcome by fear or being deflected from a chosen course of action.

It’s time to stand up and fight the good fight of faith for your families. Cowards turn their backs and run because they are selfish. Courage stands tall and endures to the end. Courage is a product of love and it always wins. Courage will sustain wounds and afflictions during battle yet it will not quit. Courage will endure the cross of suffering because it knows that in three days RESURRECTION POWER will show up and show out. God is counting on you to be strong and of good courage. Fight for your families and fight to win!!!!!!

Consecration, Revelation, Inspiration

1 Corinthians 14:2 (AMP)

For one who speaks in an [unknown] tongue speaks not to men but to God, for no one understands or catches his meaning, because in the [Holy] Spirit he utters secret truths and hidden things [not obvious to the understanding].

Consecration defined:

  • to sanctify or set apart for a special purpose.

When we allow our lives to be totally consecrated to the Lord we open the door of our lives for Divine impartation. Consistent communion and fellowship with God positions us for explanation of unanswered questions in our hearts. Questions such as; “Lord what do I do next?” or “What church should I be attending?” or “Is this the right job for me?” or “Should I be moving to such and such a state?” or “Is this what you called me to do or am I following my own plans?” God reveals secret truths that are not obvious to our natural understanding.

Revelation defined:

  • The revealing of something previously hidden or secret.

There are things that you and I simply just don’t know. God has specific instructions and insight for each individual life. God does not hide things or information from us but rather for us. The scriptures tell us that God will not withhold any good thing from us, Psalms 84:11. Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. God’s presence cultivates inspiration.

Inspiration defined:

  • Divine guidance and influence on human beings.
  • The quality of being stimulated to creative thought or activity, or the manifestation of this.

When we spend time with God, His nearness inspires creativity in us. You become like and begin to imitate what you spend time with. God has creative ideas for your life but we must get them from inspired moments in His presence.

Are You Listening?

Habakkuk 2:1-4

I will stand upon my watch, and set me upon the tower, and will watch to see what he will say unto me, and what I shall answer when I am reproved. And the LORD answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it. For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry. Behold, his soul which is lifted up is not upright in him: but the just shall live by his faith.

Today is a good day to stand still, quiet yourself before the Lord and see what he would have to say to you. In the quietness of your heart let His voice rise up and fill your whole being. God is a speaking God. The word of God reminds us in many scriptures, ” He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.” We are the church and God is seeking to communicate to us His will, His passion, direction, correction, instruction, life, peace… Are you listening? Purpose in your heart today to practice listening to God. Take example from the prophet Habakkuk and stand on your watch and see what God would say to you. God is searching for ears that desire to hear Him.
