God is Faithful

 Numbers 23:19

God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?

Trust in the Lord and lean not to your own understanding. God is faithful and His will do what He said He would do. He will never leave you or forsake you. You are not alone. God loves you. If God said He would do it, rest on His Word, He will bring it to pass. Yield to His peace and be at ease in His Love, God is faithful.

What Not to Wear

Romans 13:14

But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof.

There are certain things Christians should not wear. We must dress for success. I am speaking of our spiritual garments not a dress you buy at Macy’s.

We must dress everyday for victory. The scripture says, “Put on the Lord Jesus”. Everything Jesus represents and is should be in and on us.

We must on purpose strip off wrong, harmful attitudes and behaviors. We must refuse to wear the garment of division and strife. We must never enter the store of worldly lust with the intent to buy or sell. We must never borrow clothes of offense.

In the fashion world, some colors or patterns don’t match. We cannot wear some garments of the flesh and some of the spirit, they clash.

Before you leave the house, look in the spiritual mirror, the Bible. The Bible is our perfect standard and guide book for, WHAT NOT TO WEAR.

Put on love, gentleness, self-control, peace, and joy. Slip on the sweater on faithfulness. Put on your hat of truth. Look at you, you’re looking good now. Walk with confidence, you got the look. If you are fashion illiterate, seek help today. There is no limit to your account, go ahead splurge, God’s got the tab.

Stay Salty

 Matthew 5:13 (AMP)

You are the salt of the earth, but if salt has lost its taste (its strength, its quality), how can its saltness be restored? It is not good for anything any longer but to be thrown out and trodden underfoot by men.

Salt is good when it is strong and fresh. Its purpose is to season and preserve. When salt looses the foundation of its purpose it is good for nothing. Jesus said we are the salt of the earth, not the salt of heaven. The earth needs our salty not heaven. We are to influence the world and persuade people with the Good News. When your life crosses the path of other lives they should be able to taste the flavor of God on you. The words you speak and the way you behave should be so salty and seasoned with grace, the other person instantly becomes hunger and thirty for God.

There is nothing more gross than to taste something that should have a great flavor but when you take a bite it taste so bland and its texture is so rough you promptly spit it out.

So stay salty and bring a refreshing flavor to those you come in contact with everyday.

Making the Right Decision

Sometimes in life we can be faced with tough decisions. Should I stay or should I go? Decisions we make everyday can be life altering, they can bring life or death. Some decisions we make are very simple and nonessential. What shall I eat for dinner tonight or what flavor ice cream for dessert? Generally, the answers to those questions are not life threatening and carry a minimal degree of importance. However, there are decisions we must make in life that are vital to our daily life and success. There maybe decisions we have to make that involve more than just our own lives.

How do we make tough decisions? How do we resolve what to do, when we don’t know what to do?

Proverbs 3:5-6

Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.

In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

God has every answer we will every need to make the right decisions for our lives and those who trust us to make decisions involving their lives. He will never fail us. All we need to do is come to Him and ask for help. Why shop around when the Greater One lives right on the inside of you? No one has greater counsel than God and besides He is always available.

Your life is too precious to entrust to the opinions of mere unchanged men. God says that our thoughts are not His thoughts (Isaiah 55:8). When we seek human guidance we limit and obscure godly wisdom. We must trust God and seek Him for every area of our lives not just the things and/or situations that seem impossible. He wants to be involved in everyday life. He said in the above scripture – in all our ways to acknowledge Him. Many times people are so use to controlling their own lives and making all the decisions themselves that when they really seek God for help they are unfamiliar with His ways so they miss out on His instructions. They are so use to doing things their own way without any Divine input that they overlook the gentle leading of the Holy Spirit, our Comforter.

Making the right decision involves seeking with patience and persistence the plans and purposes of God and not being in a hurry to carelessly and anxiously rush into choosing without His counsel.

Jeremiah 33:3 (AMP)

Call to Me and I will answer you and show you great and mighty things, fenced in and hidden, which you do not know (do not distinguish and recognize, have knowledge of and understand).

So slow down and be willing to throw down every thought and suggestion that comes to you to tempt you into making your own decisions without God. Practice waiting on The Lord and be of good courage!

One, Two, Three…..STRETCH

 Ephesians 4:15 (AMP)

Rather, let our lives lovingly express truth [in all things, speaking truly, dealing truly, living truly]. Enfolded in love, let us grow up in every way and in all things into Him Who is the Head, [even] Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One).

Sometimes growing up can be uncomfortable. All the stretching and pulling that causes set things to become dislodged. Things that use to be small and easy to manage now are larger and causes one to be clumsy and disorganized.

However, growth and development are essential and vital parts of every fruitful life. The scripture says, “…let us grow up in every way and in all things into Him Who is the Head,” meaning get ready for your expansion project. Growth can occur at different times and progress at various rates for different people. We may not all experience growth together but we should all be growing nonetheless. Sometimes people perceive growing pains to be a negative experience and they regress and stop making progress. Although the stretching, pulling, prying and aggressive tugging can be uncomfortable it should be most welcomed and appreciated. Every part of our being should be growing and expanding become more and more like Him, in every way, everyday.

Enjoy the stretch!

Someone’s Watching You

1 Timothy 4:12 (AMP)

Let no one despise or think less of you because of your youth, but be an example (pattern) for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, and in purity.

Example defined:

• a person, action, or thing taken as a model to be copied or avoided by others

• something that is representative by virtue of having typical features of the thing it represents

Christians are to be representatives of heaven. We are Ambassadors for the Kingdom of God. Our life should be patterned according to the standards revealed to us in God’s Word. We should seek to live a life that someone else would want to emulate.

Paul instructed Timothy in the scripture above to be an example in five areas;

• Speech

• Conduct

• Love

• Faith

• Purity

All of these things can be visibly seen or heard by other believers. People are watching the way you live and they should. W are the Light of the World. Jesus invested too much for our light to be hid under a bushel.

The example you live before others can affect people’s lives for generations. Let us briefly examine our lives in the five areas mentioned above.

Speech – What am I saying from my mouth in front of others that I would want them to repeat?

Conduct– What behaviors, attitudes or habits do I consistently display before others and am I willing to mentor others in these same behaviors, attitudes and habits?

Love– Is my life an example of the love of God for others to see and hear?

Faith– The scripture mentions on a number of occasions that Jesus saw people’s faith. Can your faith be seen and followed by others as an example of true faith in God.

Purity– Is your life an example of Godly purity?

Someone is watching you. What do they see? Whose mirror will you be? Endeavor to live a life that you would want to see imitated in the people most precious to you.

Pace Yourself

 1Corinthian 9:24-25

Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? So run, that ye may obtain. And every man that striveth for the mastery is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a corruptible crown; but we an incorruptible.

In the Olympics, there are varies types of races. They range from short sprints to marathon style long distances. In every race the runner must determine the pace that will help him/her win that race. Many factors may influence the pace of any particular race. For instance, the speed of the other runners you are running with can greatly influence your pace, that’s if you want to win.

The environmental temperature and wind direction can also influence your pace. But whatever conditions you find yourself running your race in be determined to win. Many people settle to just finish, they have given up on mastering their course. They resolve to just make it across the finish line. Everyone who crosses the finish line in an Olympic race does not receive a prize.

God desires for us to master our course in life and not to allow our course to master us. We should not expect to cross our heavenly finish line all beat up, barely making it, just making it in by a tread. We should see ourselves running full force until the end, strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. We must see ourselves crossing that finish line full of joy and victory.

There may be times that you have to pace yourself for a sprint and at other times a marathon but whatever the pace be determined to win your race!

Experiencing the Favor of God

 Psalms 5:12 (AMP)

For You, Lord, will bless the [uncompromisingly] righteous [him who is upright and in right standing with You]; as with a shield You will surround him with goodwill (pleasure and favor).

God desires to surround you, envelop and encircle you with His favor and pleasure. The favor of God opens doors of opportunity for you that you could not humanly open for yourself. The favor of God will cause people to go out of their way to bless you. The favor of God gives you supernatural advantages.

Favor defined:

• preferential treatment shown to somebody

• an act of kindness performed or granted out of goodwill

• friendly regard shown toward another especially by a superior

• approval, partiality, popularity

God’s favor will help to advance the plans and purposes He has for your life, so that you can fulfill your divine destiny. The scriptures reveal to us in Luke 2:52 that Jesus increased in wisdom, stature and favor with God and man. Isn’t that good news because if Jesus had it so can we. We can increase in favor with God and man.

As you go about your day today meditate Psalms 5:12 and believe that God’s supernatural favor belongs to you. Expect people to like you and favor you. And don’t forget to sow favor. Go out of your way to bless and favor others as well.

Enjoy your life and live everyday experiencing the blessings that come from possessing the favor of God!

Faith Pleases God

 Hebrews 11:6

But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

Is it possible to be without faith? Well this scripture indicates to us that it is. Not only is it possible to be without faith but the more crucial element of the above scripture is that without faith we cannot please God. In all actuality it says it is impossible to please God without faith. Wow, that is quit sobering to know that as a Christian my lack of faith can cause displeasure to God.

Well for those of us who love God our first response would be; “Well tell me what to do so that I can always have faith because I want to please God always.”

The Bible reveals to us that faith comes by hearing the Word of God. That word hearing implies something done on a continuous basis. When we seek to please God we no longer read the scriptures out of mere ritual or routine. We understand that as we fellowship with God in His Word, hunger and thirsty to hear what He has to say, faith will come and when faith comes we now possess the ability to believe and receive what God has for us.

God is please and we benefit from His good pleasure. So seek to increase and use your faith because active faith pleases God.

Be it Unto Me

 Luke 1:37-38

For with God nothing shall be impossible.

And Mary said, Behold the handmaid of the Lord; be it unto me according to thy word. And the angel departed from her.

Be it unto me according to thy word are not the words that come from a lukewarm heart. The heart that utters with all sincerity and fervor, God I want what you want, no matter what you say that’s what I want Lord, this is a surrendered heart. In this heart flows genuine love and adoration. This is not a selfish heart. A selfish heart prevents divine purpose. A selfish hearts says what’s in it for me. A selfish heart hesitates and procrastinates, the call to true purpose.

A heart that trusts God is prompt to yield to His word no matter how inconvenient it may appear. A heart that trusts God is sensitive to the desires and ways of God, always seeking out ways to please Him. A heart that seeks to please God is neither a crowd pleaser nor a flesher teaser.

Be it unto me according to your word are not words of the weary and faint of heart but words of covenant keepers, promise finders and destiny seekers. They are words of faith!
