The Promise is for Your Children

Acts 2:38-39

Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the LORD our God shall call.

It is so important for us to remember how valuable the Holy Spirit is to us. He is our Wonderful Helper, not helper as in slave or someone we think to be inferior. No, no, double no, He is our superior supernatural Helper. He is God our Helper. Helper as in vital necessity Help, can’t live without Help, without Him I can do nothing Help. He is far from being a flunky for Christian’s to order around. He is the Guide, we are the followers. He is a gift to us from God the Father. He is the fulfillment of the promise from the Lord Jesus. Jesus promised us that He would not leave us comfortless or without help but would pray to the Father and then the Father would send us another Comforter which is the Holy Ghost.

The Holy Spirit is here in the earth to Help us, just like Jesus promised. God is so faithful to His Word!

However, God did not send the Holy Ghost here just for us but also for our children and our children’s children and generation after generation after generation, until the Lord Jesus returns.

Aren’t you glad that God not only thought of you but your children too. The Holy Spirit is here to lead and guide our children. He is here to reveal Christ to them. He is here to Help them fulfill their God given destiny. He is faithful to remind them of all that He has taught them over the years, through you, about the Lord Jesus. Never under estimate His influence and ability to deal with your children. The Holy Ghost is not intimidated by the temporary flesh out-breaks that they may have. He is not weary or discouraged in His working with them. Trust Him to carry out the words that God has spoken concerning your children. Agree with Him and don’t speak contrary to what He has spoken concerning their future, no matter what you see them doing today, let Him have the last word. God loves your children and He has a plan for their lives. He will never leave them nor forsake them. Love endures long and is patient. Rest on His promises and entrust your children to His will today. God’s love never fails.

Satan’s Desire to Have You

Luke 22:31-32

And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold, Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat: But I have prayed for thee, that thy faith fail not: and when thou art converted, strengthen thy brethren.

It is interesting to note that Jesus fore knew Satan’s desire to have Peter. Nothing catches God by surprise, He knows all and He sees all. God not only fore knew Satan’s plan to try and destroy Peter but He also intervened. Jesus said I have prayed for you Peter. Even before Satan every lifted his wicked hand against Peter, there was help on the way. Jesus prayed for Peter!

God knows the day and the hour that the enemy will try to sift you as wheat. God will never leave you unaware to be blind-sided by the enemy. If we will stay sensitive to His promptings and trust Him in every season of our lives He will never leave us unprepared. Whatever your enemy is plotting or doing against you in the dark God will bring it to the light.

Jesus told Peter that He had prayed for his faith that it would not fail. It is of the utmost importance that when you are going through seasons of onslaughts from the enemy that you keep your faith alive and strong.

Proverbs 18:14 (AMP) declares, “The strong spirit of a man sustains him in bodily pain or trouble, but a weak and broken spirit who can raise up or bear?”

A strong spirit is a spirit that is fortified with faith. The bible tells us that faith comes by hearing the word of God. Once our spirit hears the word of God and receives it, faith then strengthens us. Jesus didn’t pray that God would cancel or stop the attack of Satan. Jesus knew that the faith of God was more powerful than any attack of the enemy that Peter or you and I would ever face. By faith mountains are moved. By faith many Christian soldiers: subdued kingdoms, wrought righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions. Quenched the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, out of weakness were made strong, waxed valiant in fight, turned to flight the armies of the aliens. Women received their dead raised to life again: and others were tortured, not accepting deliverance; that they might obtain a better resurrection: And others had trial of cruel mockings and scourgings, yea, moreover of bonds and imprisonment: They were stoned, they were sawn asunder, were tempted, were slain with the sword: they wandered about in sheepskins and goatskins; being destitute, afflicted, tormented; (Hebrews 11)

These were all men and women of faith. Their faith did not fail them in the time of trouble. They obtained faith through hearing the voice of God. They didn’t just hear the Word of God but they also were obedient to what they heard. Faith is not magic, it is majestic! Faith is of God and can only be gotten from Him. When we seek God we hear Him and when we hear Him through seeking Him, He is a rewarder. God rewards the diligent seeker. I believe one of those rewards is faith. Faith gives us access to everything we will ever have need of in the Kingdom of God. So no matter how diligent the devil seeks to devour you just keep seek God and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

God will never let the devil get the upper hand on you. So even though Satan desires to sift you as wheat remember Jesus has already prayed for you and He will not leave you ignorant of Satan’s device. So stand strong in your faith and know that God is your shield and He will not fail you.

B.L.O.G.

When I was in nursing school I liked making acronyms to help me remember all the biology, pharmacology, psychology, medical terminology, etc., you get the picture. I thought it made learning fun and of course it helped me ace my tests. So as I was thinking on the word Blog, I said that should represent something because it doesn’t even look like it should be a word. So I attached my own meaning; B-Being, L-Led, O- Of, G-God! So now whenever you see the word BLOG, it will remind you to let go and let God.

Romans 8:13-14 (AMP)

For if you live according to [the dictates of] the flesh, you will surely die. But if through the power of the [Holy] Spirit you are [habitually] putting to death (making extinct, deadening) the [evil] deeds prompted by the body, you shall [really and genuinely] live forever. For all who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God.

God is not a follower He is Leader. God wants to lead you and me everyday in every way. Leading and directing us on the paths that He has chosen. God is an active Leader. He is an involved Leader. The Bible reminds us that we are laborers together with God. If you are just sitting around waiting on something to happen in your life you are not imitating God. God is not idle. God is not lazy. God is an initiator not a critical spectator. God is not just sitting in Heaven issuing out orders for everyone to do. No, God is leading the way, He is going before us, making crooked places straight, breaking into piece gates of brass and cut a sunder the bars of iron, (Isaiah 45:2). In other words, when we let God in front, He will remove and destroy every obstacle that would try to hinder or stop our progress. So we need to get out of the way and let the true source of all power and wisdom lead the way.

Sometimes when I go for a jog around the lake I forget to charge up my I-pod. Half way through the run my I-pod will flash me a message, “Connect to power source”. If I don’t soon connect it to its power source I will lose all function, thus the I-pod can no longer assist me on my journey. When I go outside to jog, the course that I take generally does not have power outlets every few miles, as a matter of fact it has no power outlets. If I want power to last the full course of my journey, my equipment has to be fully charged up when I start the course.

When we follow God, we can always rest assured that He is always packin the power. Got God, Got Power! God will be faithful to supply all of your needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus. But to have access to God’s supply you must, follow be a follower of Him. You can’t be out there doing your own thing, living according to your plans and expect the power source to be available.

Being Led of God is simply just that, let God lead the way. Take time to listen to Him and receive answers and instruction. He will direct your every step if you will let Him. Being Led of God is not hard or difficult; it is not grievous or burdensome. Jesus said in Matthew 11, my yoke is easy and my burden is light. It becomes hard when we try interweaving our natural thought out plans with His divine plans.

STOP! LOOK! LISTEN!

STOP– trying to do it in your own strength, God has strength available for you and His strength is made perfect in weakness.

Look– away from everything that tries to distract you from the perfect will of God for your life and look to Jesus the author and finisher of your faith and the true Shepherd of your journey.

Listen– to what God is saying to you, through quiet meditation in His Word and frequent purposeful pauses of your spirit quietly yielding an inward ear to His Spirit throughout the day.

God loves you so much. You are His very own son/daughter and you belong to Him. God has not left you here in the earth alone to try and figure out your life all by yourself. He has not abandoned His fatherhood nor withdrawn His help from you. God the Father desires to lead and guide you and to direct your every step but you must be willing to give up the stirring wheel and let Him have control.

The Pride of Man

Psalms 31:20

Thou shalt hide them in the secret of thy presence from the pride of man: thou shalt keep them secretly in a pavilion from the strife of tongues.

Oh, how wonderful it is to know that you and I have a place in God’s presence where there is safety.

The word that God is speaking to us here in Psalms 31:20 is a revelation and a demonstration of the Love of God. God is saying to us, I am your shelter, I am your protector, and I am your hiding place! God is speaking to us through His word letting us know no weapon formed against us will prosper, if we stay in His presence. God is saying to us in 2017, I got yo back! God has promised to never leave us or forsake us and He is a promise keeper not a covenant breaker.

The word of God here says that God will hide us from the pride of man, Hallelujah! Pride is conceived out of rebellion and breaks forth from the womb of sin. It is an abomination to God. It comes to kill, steal and destroy any life and destiny that will yield to its deceptive will. Pride is the nature of Satan. It seeks to dethrone the true God and exalt itself. When pride speaks its words are in direct opposition to God’s word. If God says you can, pride will flood your mind with reasons why you can’t. If God says go, pride will try to convince you to stay. Pride hides itself many times behind the voice of reason. Pride appears puffed up but is in all actuality permeated with fear. Pride seeks to control people through intimidation and manipulation. Pride lust for alliances and allegiance. Pride says, “I will exalt myself above God.” When pride is operating through the lives of human beings, they strive to live in the authority Adam had before the fall through their own works, human reasoning, and natural ability and intellect. Pride is a seducer. Pride seeks to be its own source, trying to do everything without the help of God. It says, “I can do that myself.” Pride says, ” It over there’s no more hope.” Pride says, ” You can never have that, even by faith, it’s too much.”

However, God has said I will hide those who trust in me from the pride of man. Pride can’t access you when you are tucked away in the secret of God’s presence. In God’s presence, you are saturated with His words which are spirit and life. In God’s presence you are aware of His power and protection over your life and circumstances. In God’s presences there is supernatural strength and abilities. In God’s presences there is direction, correction, instruction, encouragement and courage. In God’s presence you know that all things are possible with God and that there is nothing too hard for Him. In God’s presence there is fullness of joy, which infuses you with strength for the journey. In God’s presence you have insight and revelation into the plans and purposes of God. In God’s presences you know that there is no lack and that all things are yours and that God is your source who supplies all your needs through His riches. In God’s presences you see Him as the one who provides all your provision and protection, refusing the voice of pride to be your guide.

It’s only when we start peeking out, through enticing words of mans wisdom, we are in danger of being lured out of the secret place of God’s presences.

You are a child of Almighty God; you were not created to be a prisoner of pride. Purpose in your heart today to reign from the secret place of God’s presences and never let pride have dominion over you.

You have to declare, “I am free and love dominates, and reigns in me!

Delight Yourself in His Word

Confess these scriptures aloud, as many times as you need to, it will do you good!

For thou art my lamp, O LORD: and the LORD will lighten my darkness. For by thee I have run through a troop: by my God have I leaped over a wall. As for God, his way is perfect; the word of the LORD is tried: he is a buckler to all them that trust in him. For who is God, save the LORD? and who is a rock, save our God? God is my strength and power: and he maketh my way perfect. He maketh my feet like hinds’ feet: and setteth me upon my high places. He teacheth my hands to war; so that a bow of steel is broken by mine arms. Thou hast also given me the shield of thy salvation: and thy gentleness hath made me great. Thou hast enlarged my steps under me; so that my feet did not slip. I have pursued mine enemies, and destroyed them; and turned not again until I had consumed them. And I have consumed them, and wounded them, that they could not arise: yea, they are fallen under my feet. For thou hast girded me with strength to battle: them that rose up against me hast thou subdued under me. Thou hast also given me the necks of mine enemies, that I might destroy them that hate me. They looked, but there was none to save; even unto the LORD, but he answered them not. Then did I beat them as small as the dust of the earth, I did stamp them as the mire of the street, and did spread them abroad. Thou also hast delivered me from the strivings of my people, thou hast kept me to be head of the heathen: a people which I knew not shall serve me. 2Samuel 22:29-42

Help is Available

John 14:26-27

But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

Before Jesus ever left the earth He made sure we would have access to all the necessary resources required to live a victorious Christian life. Two very major components for victory are mentioned in the above scriptures. Jesus spoke of sending the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost and His peace.

The Holy Spirit was sent by the Father at the request of the Lord Jesus. Jesus said He would be our Comforter or Helper. He would teach us all things and bring all things to our remembrance, concerning the things Jesus had spoken.

The Holy Spirit is a vital person in the lives of every born again believer. We need His uninterrupted help on a daily basis. We are to love Him and appreciate Him just like we love and appreciate Jesus and the Father. The Holy Spirit was sent to help us but if we never yield to or take advantage of His help we struggle needlessly through life trying to manage things alone.

Jesus also procured peace for us not a false since of being at ease that the world offers. Jesus left us true peace, a peace that surpasses all understanding. When you are yielding to the peace of God you are not troubled or full of anxieties and fearful.

As you go about your day today don’t forget you are not alone you are not without help. Take full advantage of all the Divine resources Jesus made available to you through His death, burial and resurrection. Rejoice and be glad you are on the winning team!

Overcoming Temptation

To live as an over-comer we must first understand and believe that we have already overcome.

1John 5:4 says, “ For whatsoever is born of God over-cometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world even our faith.”

Now, we know that faith cometh by hearing the word of God. So to live as an over-comer it is important that we hear what the Lord has already said concerning our victory. Jesus said. “These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer I have over-come the world (John 16:33).

What temptations, test or trials face you today?

Where do these temptations come from?

How can I successfully pass every test and over-come ever trial?

Temptation defined:

• To entice to commit an unwise or immoral act.

Mark 1:13

And he was there in the wilderness forty days, tempted of Satan; and was with the wild beasts; and the angels ministered unto him.

James 1:12-14

Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him. Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man: But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed.

It is very clear according to the above scriptures who the tempter really is. God is not playing games with us. He loves us and want to see us live a life of continual victory. God is not a bad God but rather a GOOD GOD! Many times people have the wrong perception of God because of what they see people do and say under the disguise of His Name. God is not trying to destroy people. It is Satan who hates and seeks to steal, kill and destroy the lives of anyone who will allow him to.

1Corinthians 10:13 (AMP)

For no temptation (no trial regarded as enticing to sin), [no matter how it comes or where it leads] has overtaken you and laid hold on you that is not common to man [that is, no temptation or trial has come to you that is beyond human resistance and that is not adjusted and adapted and belonging to human experience, and such as man can bear]. But God is faithful [to His Word and to His compassionate nature], and He [can be trusted] not to let you be tempted and tried and assayed beyond your ability and strength of resistance and power to endure, but with the temptation He will [always] also provide the way out (the means of escape to a landing place), that you may be capable and strong and powerful to bear up under it patiently.

You are an over-comer.  It’s time to forget about the past. Forget and let go of all the mistakes and various temptations you have yielded to in the past. It’s a New Day. Things are different now, you know the truth and the truth has set you free. Free from the worry and fear of ever doing the things you were once ashamed of ever again. You are no longer a slave to whatever temptation the devil brings your way. You have authority and power in Christ to win everytime. Say no to the temptations of your past even before that knock at the door of your future. Determine in your heart today that you will never go that way again. God has given you everything you need to be victorious over temptation.

God is not the author of our temptations; He is our Deliverer, our Redeemer.

You are an over-comer, rejoice and be glad. God is on your side and that makes you a member of the winning team !

Our Shepherd is Always There

The Lord Jesus Christ loves you so much. No matter what you maybe going through He will never leave you nor forsake you. God is faithful to be with you and provide whatever you need; strength, courage, wisdom, protection, etc.

Meditate on His goodness today and allow the 23rd Psalms to refresh and renew your trust and dependence on our Lord, today.

Psalms 23 (amplified)

THE LORD is my Shepherd [to feed, guide, and shield me], I shall not lack

He makes me lie down in [fresh, tender] green pastures; He leads me beside the still and restful waters.

He refreshes and restores my life (my self); He leads me in the paths of righteousness [uprightness and right standing with Him–not for my earning it, but] for His name’s sake.

Yes, though I walk through the [deep, sunless] valley of the shadow of death, I will fear or dread no evil, for You are with me; Your rod [to protect] and Your staff [to guide], they comfort me.

You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with [a]oil; my [brimming] cup runs over.

Surely or only goodness, mercy, and unfailing love shall follow me all the days of my life, and through the length of my days the house of the Lord [and His presence] shall be my dwelling place.

Keys of the Kingdom

We have been granted access!

And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.” Matthew 16:19

Most often times when someone gives you a key, there is a security device present, and the key locks or unlocks that device. Keys for instance open doors, safety deposit boxes, car doors and ignitions just to name a few things. But customarily when something has a lock, what is being locked is of great value to someone. When you have keys you are in a position of ownership. God has given every born again believer the keys to the Kingdom of God, no one has been locked out. The keys to God’s kingdom are revelation knowledge in the word of God. It’s time that we take those keys off the shelf, find them at the bottom of our purses and begin to use them for the glory of God.

How Old Are You, Really?

1 Corinthians 13:11

When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things.

I love the verse of scripture that we are meditating on today. Oh my I teach/preach on it a lot.

Putting away childish things is a great indicator of spiritual growth and development. As we read this verse of scripture one can see the progression and procession of growth, from a child to a man/adult. You can clearly see how this doesn’t happen overnight. Our natural bodies were created by God. We were fearfully and wonderfully made by His Mighty Meticulous Hand. God “showed out” so to speak when He made man, wonderful are the works of His hand and that my soul knows quite well. He is truly an awesome Creator.

Children are precious; they are so full of life and energy. They are innocent little spirits waiting to be filled. They love to learn and try new things, always watching and downloading information from their surroundings. A child reaching full maturity one day, has a lot to do with the different influences in their live’s. Sometimes people are stunted in the growth process because of disease or abuse/neglect. They had the potential and genetic make up to be 6’5” but only reached 4’10 because of improper nutrition or being exposed or coming in contact with toxic agents in their environment. Potential doesn’t always produce the whole package of goods. Children are miniature adults who have not grown into their potential. It is always a horrific sight to see a person with growth retardation. Their lives just seem to be frozen or suspended in one phase of life. Spiritual retardation is very similar. Have you ever seen a person who has been a Christian for 20 plus years but yet spiritually their lives emulate someone who is just a babe in Christ?

They talk like a child, they think like a child, and they act like a child. In their own eyes they think they are mature because of the years but in reality somewhere along the way their spiritual growth and development was interrupted and corrupted. Our spiritual diet has a lot to do with our growth and development. If you feed on the wrong things it will produce wrong results. If you feed on right things you get right results.

The scripture tells us, “Like newborn babies you should crave (thirst for, earnestly desire) the pure (unadulterated) spiritual milk, that by it you may be nurtured and grow unto [completed] salvation, (1Peter 2:2 AMP).

I like that, don’t you? The word unadulterated means: not mixed or diluted with something else, untainted, untouched, and unmodified.

Can you imagine the harm a mother would bring to her newborn baby if she diluted the milk or mixed it with alcohol or other toxic substance? The baby would have devastating physical consequences. How much more if we receive diluted or tainted spiritual food? God’s will for every believer is that we grow and flourish. The Father wants us all to experience the proper growth and development so that we can reach full maturity and finish our Divine Destinies.

If you examined the words that come forth from your mouth on a daily bases do they sound like the spiritual vocabulary of a 2 year old? Now if you are a baby Christian that’s fine, you are where you are by the grace of God and as you continue to hunger and thirst after God you will be filled so that you can be nurtured and grow. However, if you have been saved and living a Christian life for many years you should have made some notable progress by now. What do your thoughts sound like? If we were to put a spiritual microphone up to your mind, what would we hear? How do you act when under pressure or persecution? Do you throw spiritual temper tantrums or do you display the love and peace of God? Are the works of the flesh still more a part of your life than the fruit of the spirit?

My friend, if this describes your current spiritual condition please don’t get offended and run and hide. God loves you and desires to see you enjoy the abundant life. Many times the only thing we need to do to get back on track is make a few adjustments in our daily walk with God. Once you get in the flow again you will begin to see supernatural growth spurts in no time. Don’t allow Satan to frustrate your purpose by getting up-set every time you hear a word of correction or instruction for your life. It’s time to man-up/woman-up… you know what I mean :).

When I was a child certain behavior was tolerated and expected but when I became an adult the same behavior became repulsive. There’s nothing wrong about being a baby, actually babies are a joy to any life both spiritually and naturally but there comes a time when we all must grow up.

Romans 8:19

For [even the whole] creation (all nature) waits expectantly and longs earnestly for God’s sons to be made known [waits for the revealing, the disclosing of their sonship].
