Revelations 19:1-19

And after these things I heard a great voice of much people in heaven, saying, Alleluia; Salvation, and glory, and honour, and power, unto the Lord our God:

For true and righteous are his judgments: for he hath judged the great whore, which did corrupt the earth with her fornication, and hath avenged the blood of his servants at her hand.

And again they said, Alleluia And her smoke rose up for ever and ever.

And the four and twenty elders and the four beasts fell down and worshipped God that sat on the throne, saying, Amen; Alleluia.

And a voice came out of the throne, saying, Praise our God, all ye his servants, and ye that fear him, both small and great.

And I heard as it were the voice of a great multitude, and as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of mighty thunderings, saying, Alleluia: for the Lord God omnipotent reigneth.

Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready.

And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints.

And he saith unto me, Write, Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he saith unto me, These are the true sayings of God.

And I fell at his feet to worship him. And he said unto me, See thou do it not: I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren that have the testimony of Jesus: worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.

And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war.

His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself.

And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God.

And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean.

And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.

And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.

My Dependency on God – A Confession

Father, you created me for your glory and praise. Therefore I will not give your glory, the glory and praise that are due to you, to another. I will praise you, oh Lord my strength and my Redeemer. You are everything to me, and I openly confess you are my God.

There is no other.

I acknowledge my dependency on you, my King, in every area of my life and worship. Without you I can do nothing. Without you I am nothing. I depend on you to guide me every day in every way. Lord, you are my sun and shield. You are my peace and my righteousness. Lord, you are my strength. You are the glory and lifter of my head. You are my way, my truth and my life. I look to you in all things for you are the author and finisher of my faith. Lord, I depend on you for faith and courage each and every day. I know that by your Spirit you will lead and guide me into all truth and show me things to come. I depend on the Holy Spirit to teach me all things and bring all things to my remembrance, whatsoever Jesus has spoken. I depend on the Holy Spirit to be my Comforter, providing my life with counsel, help, strength, advocacy, and to stand by me always. He is my Comforter; therefore, I have no need of artificial comfort. I depend on the Holy Spirit to aid and bear me up in my prayer life, because I often do not know what prayer to offer nor how to offer it, but the Spirit helps me to pray, pleading on my behalf with unspeakable yearnings and groaning too deep for utterance. I am dependent upon the Spirit of God to lead me because I am a son of God.

Father, I trust in you with all my heart; I refuse to lean to my own understanding. In all my ways I acknowledge you; you are the only one I will allow to direct my path. I depend upon your word to instruct, correct and direct my life. Your word is my standard not the kingdoms of this world. I depend on you for insight and revelation, daily. I depend on you for daily bread, which provides nourishment for my soul, causing my mind to be renewed and my focus to be fixed. I trust you.

Father, I depend on you.  I depend on your love to cultivate and enrich my character and to provide the foundation for everything I do. I trust and depend on you in the quiet times as well as in the storms of life.

Father, I depend on you for protection and provision. A thousand may fall at my side, ten thousand at my right hand, but it shall not come near me or my family. We shall only be spectators, inaccessible in the secret place of the most high, as we witness the reward of the wicked. Lord, you are my refuge and my fortress; I depend on you. I thank you that you liberally supply, fill to the full, my every need according to your riches in glory in Christ Jesus. Father, I trust and depend on you.

Father, I depend on your creative power working in me and your thoughts of witty inventions that you give me to flow freely through my life for the advancement of your plans and purposes in the earth. Your kingdom has come; your will be done. I depend on you, Father, as I study your word and bask in your presence; you will keep me abreast of the current issues and plans of your kingdom.

Father you are good and everything about you is pure and holy.  You are love. You are light, and in you there is no darkness at all. I trust, rely on and depend on you in all things. You are my Lord. Your love is so amazing.

Draw Near to Him

Matthew 11:28-30 (AMP)

Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy-laden and overburdened, and I will cause you to rest. [I will ease and relieve and refresh your souls.]

Take My yoke upon you and learn of Me, for I am gentle (meek) and humble (lowly) in heart, and you will find rest (relief and ease and refreshment and recreation and blessed quiet) for your souls.

For My yoke is wholesome (useful, good–not harsh, hard, sharp, or pressing, but comfortable, gracious, and pleasant), and My burden is light and easy to be borne.

The Lord wants daily fellowship and communion with us. However, God will not intrude or crash the door of our heart down to make us fellowship with Him. He will not compete with the clamor of this world for your attention. God is with us and dwells in every believer in Christ. We must draw near to Him and seek Him. We must desire communion with Him.

The world is speaking and calling for our attention every day. It seeks to distract and allure you away from your God given purpose. The flesh, the world and the devil scream for your attention 24/7. There are things designed to capture you attention and your interest, in an attempt to pull your heart and devotion toward it and away from God. Don’t surrender to its sway.

God has a purpose for your life but it will only be fulfilled as we closely follow Him. God does not seek to draw your attention through the lust of the eye. He will quietly appeal to your spirit. The scripture reveals to us that the spirit of man is the candle of the Lord. God will lead and guide us through our born-again spirits. But this happens only as we yield to Him, He will not force us to come to Him.

Purpose in your heart to diligently seek the Lord every day. Turn your attention several times throughout the day to Him and cultivate your devotion and fellowship with Him.

Soak It

Soak defined:

  • To penetrate something by saturating it and passing into pores or small holes.

Similar words to soak are: immerse, steep, marinate, infuse, saturate, and bathe.

There is a difference between soaking something in water and just merely dipping something in water. When you dip something in water it is just a brief encounter, then you quickly remove it from the water, However when you soak something it is a lengthier period of time that you leave it in the water or substance. Soaking requires patience. Many times people get in a hurry and don’t let what is immersed absorb all that it needs to.

Colossians 3:16

Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.

The word richly in that verse means abundance. Let the word of God live in you in great quantity, not just a little bit. In order for God’s word to live in us richly we need to immerse or soak ourselves in it so that it can permeate and saturate every fiber of our being. When something is soaked it becomes weighty, heavy or solid. This weightiness and/or solidity becomes the anchor of our spirit, soul and body. It is the rock that causes us not to be moved. When we become rooted and grounded in God and His word we become unshakeable.

Many times when you soak something it gives the soaking agent time to remove old callous things and yet at the same time penetrate and expand useful things. When the word of God penetrates and fills your heart, it begins to expand and enlarge it, giving way to the greater and thus becoming more useful.

Dehydration is a dangerous depletion or lack of water in the body, resulting from an inadequate intake of fluids or excessive fluid loss. Loss of fluids can result from various assaults on the body such as: disease, trauma, profuse sweating, prolonged heat exposure, etc. When the body is dehydrated the person can become confused, weak, delirious, experience visual disturbances and a host of other malfunctions. If we compare this to spiritual dehydration we can see some of the same devastating manifestations. People began to lack spiritual perception which distorts Godly vision; they begin to experience spiritual weakness resulting in poor judgment and increased carnality. We see manifestations of spiritual delirium, anxiety, fear, sleep deprivation, creativity retardation, speech deficits, and a host of other things. Spiritual dehydration can put a person’s spirit in a state of shock. Listen, child of God, we should never allow our spirits to get to the point of spiritual dehydration. We must endeavor to stay full!

Daily soaks in God’s word causes us to overflow with the life and light of God. Our lives then become prosperous and we have good success. God told Joshua to meditate His word day and night; well I think that could very well be a form of soaking. Lightly wetting yourself with the word of God does not produce good success, the gentlest breeze can quickly dry that from your skins surface. However when we soak, it goes deep inside, filtering through every pore, reaching every part of your being.

So purpose in your heart this year to take frequent soaks in the Word of Life and watch your life overflow and grow more and more!

Power Outage

In the natural world it is very easy for a power outage to occur, a little wind, thunder and lightening and BAM your lights blink. Man’s natural equipment doesn’t seem to compare or match up with natures fury. However there is a power that is greater and far more superior than anything other power. THE POWER OF ALMIGHTY GOD!

In the life of a believer, storms both spiritual and natural present a wonderful opportunity to display the awesome power of God. We should never have power outages. We must stay full of the power of God.

Jesus dominated spiritual and physical storms.

Mark 4:38-40“And he was in the hinder part of the ship, asleep on a pillow: and they awake him, and say unto him, Master, carest thou not that we perish? And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm. And he said unto them, Why are ye so fearful? how is it that ye have no faith?”

WOW! No power outage, there just was a full manifestation of dunamis!

God wants us to look just like Him in every situation of life, even during a storm. God has fully supplied every believer with power to be a witness. We are witnesses of Christ when we dominate storms. We are witnesses of Christ when we cast out devils and lay hands on the sick and see them recover.

Power outages happen in the lives of those who are luke warm. Power outages happen for those who do not believe. Power outages happen when we neglect reading the word of God and fellow-shipping with Him. Power outages happen when we stay more in tune with the world than praying and being sensitive to God’s Spirit. Power outages happen when we live in the flesh and not in the spirit.

God did not leave us here in the earth without power.

Luke 10:18-20 (AMP)

And He said to them, I saw Satan falling like a lightning [flash] from heaven. Behold! I have given you authority and power to trample upon serpents and scorpions, and [physical and mental strength and ability] over all the power that the enemy [possesses]; and nothing shall in any way harm you. Nevertheless, do not rejoice at this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rejoice that your names are enrolled in heaven.

Rise up child of God and use this awesome power, there is a great demand in this hour. Don’t let the lightening strike your tower. Stay awake and alert on your watch, don’t let the lights go out on your block.

Remembering His Triumph

Hebrews 12:2-4

Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

For consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds. Ye have not yet resisted unto blood, striving against sin.

The next time you think that your problems and situations in life are unfair and unbearable, consider Jesus.

Such a wonderful example of true love and endurance. Every time I remember His sacrifice and what He did for us, it brings great joy, humility and an abundance of thankfulness.

Let us homor Him this passover by forgetting our troubles and rejoicing in His triumph!

How Far Are You Willing to Go?

Every now and then the question of Destiny should grace your thought life and flood every imagination of your soul. Questions such as: Do I know where my life is headed? Where am I and How did I get here? Who told me to pursue the life and dreams I now seek to fulfill every day? What and whose plans am I following for my life? Why am I not satisfied with the progress my life has made? Am I making progress toward the fulfillment of my God given destiny or am I no further than when I first begun? What hindrances to my Divine Destiny do I tolerate, looking the other way in hopes that they will just someday go away? What weights and sins do I allow that beset me from day to day? What is my response to the voice of procrastination, laziness, worldliness, fear, insecurities, distractions, carnality, boredom, loneliness, pride etc? Am I truly growing in my walk with God or am I pretending just to impress others? Is there a marked difference in my spiritual growth and development or have I just become merely religious? How serious am I in knowing what the will of the Lord is for my life? Who is truly leading my life; the flesh, the world, the devil, the Holy Spirit or me? What fuels my daily passions? Is it the Word of God or is it just an unfulfilled fantasy?

Before you flippantly rattle off answers from your head to any of the above questions take a minute and ask the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of Truth, to help you. Many people can give what appears to be the right spiritually mature sounding answer to all the questions yet their own life bears little fruit to what they just said. Life here on earth is short; it’s time to get sober. Do you really know where you are on your Divine Course? Do you know where you are going?

STOP, LOOK, LISTEN!

Its okay to turn around and head back to the last place you definitely heard God direct you if you have gotten off course. Repent and turn, now! God loves you and He wants you to finish the course He has set before you. You need never be ashamed, God is joyfully waiting on you to lead and guide you in the way that you should go. Don’t be distracted by what everybody else is or isn’t doing for God. Don’t worry about John, you follow Jesus!

On the other hand maybe you are one of the many Christians who are right on target and making tremendous progress on your course. Well, keep on keepin on with God, my sister, my brother. There is more ahead, stay steady, never dread, just keep your spirit nourished and fed. Be bold to conquer new territory as you are lead by the Holy Spirit. Continue to grow and mature as you run your race; don’t forget to encourage and help others when you meet them from day to day. Stay excited about the course God has given you and never grumble or complain. Keep yourself pure from idleness and carnality; don’t let them defile you along the way. Stay hot with a burning passion for the Master and His work.

The Destiny God has for you is so vital. But how far are you willing to go? Are you willing to finish your course with joy? Are you willing to go all the way? Can you press with your whole heart until you cross your finish line? Can you give it all you got and in His grace keep up the pace while keeping a steady gaze on His face? Never looking back but always on track; never losing ground while remaining spiritually sound. Remember God is counting on you to be a living testimony of His love. You are the only you that the world will ever see wrapped up in His grace and mercy! Fight the good fight of faith and finish your God given race, in the end you will see Him in honor face to face!

Hebrews 12:1-3

THEREFORE THEN, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses [who have borne testimony to the Truth], let us strip off and throw aside every encumbrance (unnecessary weight) and that sin which so readily (deftly and cleverly) clings to and entangles us, and let us run with patient endurance and steady and active persistence the appointed course of the race that is set before us,

Looking away [from all that will distract] to Jesus, Who is the Leader and the Source of our faith [giving the first incentive for our belief] and is also its Finisher [bringing it to maturity and perfection]. He, for the joy [of obtaining the prize] that was set before Him, endured the cross, despising and ignoring the shame, and is now seated at the right hand of the throne of God.

Just think of Him Who endured from sinners such grievous opposition and bitter hostility against Himself [reckon up and consider it all in comparison with your trials], so that you may not grow weary or exhausted, losing heart and relaxing and fainting in your minds.

Confidence

1John 5:14-15 And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us: And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.

Confidence defined:

  • Belief or trust in somebody or something, or in the ability of somebody or something to act in a proper, trustworthy, or reliable manner.

It is so important for us to have confidence in God. Many people may think that when you become a Christian that this happens automatically but it does not. Human experience can often-times interfere with our confidence. For instance if a person had trust issues prior to being born-again due to failed relationships such as abandonment through divorce or neglect through improper parenting from childhood, it may be difficult not impossible, for them to immediately trust God with every area of their lives.

They truly love God but they need detoxifying of their soul (mind, will and emotions) and body from the hurtful  incidences of their past. Trust is established through experience. If someone tells you they will be there for you when you need them, then when opportunity arises they fail to come through, this can cause disappointment which in turn nurtures insecurities and cultivates mistrust.

When a baby is born there is a phase of normal growth and development called trust versus mistrust. If trust is to be established in that child’s life they must experience repeated positive interactions with the one in whom the trust is to be established with. This has to be done on a consistent basis to form a sort of bond with the other person. The child learns to trust or mistrust you based on your response to their needs. If you are consistent to come and attend to their needs when they cry they begin to trust and rely on you above all others. When they see your face come into a room they get so excited because they trust you and they know you will protect them, feed them, change them, comfort them, etc. Some of these things you may have never even done for them yet but because of your consistent positive response in other areas of their lives they trust you to be the same regarding new adventures as well.

God is trustworthy. But the best way to establish trust in any relationship is by experience. You can say that you trust God because of what you’ve heard Him do for others but nothing compares to your own experiences with God, they become priceless as you grow and develop in your relationship with God.

Another way that we can begin to develop confidence in God is through consistent meditation in His Word. God’s Word is alive, it is spirit, it is life. The Word of God has the ability to create supernatural knowledge and understanding in your spirit and soul to the point where you begin to know God in ways you have never known Him before through spiritual intimacy and fellowship. This kind of relationship is obtained through spiritual hunger and diligent seeking. His Word creates the bond of trust through the supernatural unveiling of who He is.

Trust and/or confidence promotes dependency. When you trust God you will begin to depend on Him for everything. You will come to Him for anything and involve Him in all things. You begin to understand and take full advantage of His love for you. You know without a shadow of a doubt that He will withhold nothing good from you. You become bold and confident in prayer knowing that your will is to do His will. Your confidence is unshakable concerning the Father. You know that He loves you and that He hears you and that He answers you.

The Joy of the Lord is Your Strength

Nehemiah 8:10

Then he said unto them, Go your way, eat the fat, and drink the sweet, and send portions unto them for whom nothing is prepared: for this day is holy unto our LORD: neither be ye sorry; for the joy of the LORD is your strength.

When things in life seem to go array, the first thing that we seem to compromise is our joy. What a wrong chose that is. Joy is our strength and was given to us by God to be a help during times of distress and temptation. Joy is a fruit of the Spirit. Joy is vital to our existence and victory. In the human body we have vital organs that we cannot live on the earth without. Our bodies require a heart; we cannot live without one. If the heart shuts down the body will die. When the heart is diseased or only functioning at 40-50%, it negatively affects the whole body.

The word vital is defined as being extremely important and necessary, or indispensable to the survival or continuing effectiveness of something.

The joy of the Lord that resides within our spirit is indispensable. You must never under estimate its worth and try to face life without it.

Jesus declared in John 15:11, “These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full.”

Let the joy of the Lord live big in you today and everyday!

Stay Salty!

Matthew 5:13 (AMP)

You are the salt of the earth, but if salt has lost its taste (its strength, its quality), how can its saltness be restored? It is not good for anything any longer but to be thrown out and trodden underfoot by men.

Salt is good when it is strong and fresh. Its purpose is to season and preserve. When salt loses the foundation of its purpose it is good for nothing. Jesus said we are the salt of the earth, not the salt of heaven. The earth needs our salty not heaven. We are to influence the world and persuade people with the Good News. When your life crosses the path of other lives they should be able to taste the flavor of God on you. The words you speak and the way you behave should be so salty and seasoned with grace that the other person instantly becomes hunger and thirty for God.

There is nothing more gross than to taste something that should have a great flavor but when you take a bite it taste so bland and its texture is so rough you promptly spit it out.

So stay salty and bring a refreshing flavor to those you come in contact with everyday.
