Gentleness

 Psalms 18:35-36

Thou hast also given me the shield of thy salvation: and thy right hand hath holden me up, and thy gentleness hath made me great.

Thou hast enlarged my steps under me, that my feet did not slip.

Gentle defined having a mild and kind nature or manner.

The Lord is a wonderful Lord. God’s nature is gentle. He is not a mean angry God. God is love and love is gentle. God’s dealing with man has always been rooted in tender mercy and loving kindness. It seems so weird that anyone could ever not love Him. He is extremely affectionate and very passionate. His love is tangible and full of expression. God is not rough or cold in His fellowship with us. He is warm and comforting to those who love Him. His approach is kind and His manner sweet. God’s gentleness makes us great because gentleness is a fruit of love and love is the foundation of all true greatness.

As you live a life fully controlled by the love of God, the fruit of gentleness will lead you to greatness.

Authentic

Authentic means genuine and original, as opposed to being a fake or reproduction

To be authentic is to be real, valid, bona fide, true, reliable, and dependable as opposed to fake or counterfeit. Jesus said:

John 15:1-3

I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman.

Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit.

Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you

Jesus let us know through His teachings and demonstrated by outward display of works that He was the real not a phony or a want to be. When you are authentic your life will bear fruit of the trueness of your words.

John 14:11 (amp)

Believe Me that I am in the Father and the Father in Me; or else believe Me for the sake of the [very] works themselves. [If you cannot trust Me, at least let these works that I do in My Father’s name convince you.]

Jesus was indeed who He said He was regardless if anybody believed Him or not. The proof of who He was was not based on the opinions of others but rather the life He lived. His life consistently mirrored the scriptures that prophesied of Him and the union He had with the Father. If God is in you then everything you do and say should be proof that He lives there. The book of Revelations declares that there would be those who had a name that they lived but yet were dead. (Revelations 3:1)

To be phony is to give a false impression, to make something appear to be genuine when it is not. It also can be putting on a false show of something such as sincerity or expertise.

A phony can only be detected when you know the real and genuine. Refusing to become familiar with the true can make you vulnerable to the fake. Take time to cultivate in your life the knowledge and ways of the True Vine and you will never be deceived by the counterfeit vine.

Divine Protection

Do you believe that you have Divine protection every day? Well, if you don’t believe that, you should. God expects you to believe that all His promises are true and fully available to you every day.

2 Corinthians 1:20 tells us, “For all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us.” We can confidently believe that everything God has promised us in His Word is true.

God has provided Divine protection for you every day, please, believe that.

Read Psalms 91 aloud with me and stir up your faith concerning your God given protection that belongs to you every day.

Psalms 91

HE WHO dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall remain stable and fixed under the shadow of the Almighty [Whose power no foe can withstand]. I will say of the Lord, He is my Refuge and my Fortress, my God; on Him I lean and rely, and in Him I [confidently] trust! For [then] He will deliver you from the snare of the fowler and from the deadly pestilence. [Then] He will cover you with His pinions, and under His wings shall you trust and find refuge; His truth and His faithfulness are a shield and a buckler. You shall not be afraid of the terror of the night, nor of the arrow (the evil plots and slanders of the wicked) that flies by day, Nor of the pestilence that stalks in darkness, nor of the destruction and sudden death that surprise and lay waste at noonday. A thousand may fall at your side, and ten thousand at your right hand, but it shall not come near you. Only a spectator shall you be [yourself inaccessible in the secret place of the Most High] as you witness the reward of the wicked. Because you have made the Lord your refuge, and the Most High your dwelling place, There shall no evil befall you, nor any plague or calamity come near your tent. For He will give His angels [especial] charge over you to accompany and defend and preserve you in all your ways [of obedience and service]. They shall bear you up on their hands, lest you dash your foot against a stone. You shall tread upon the lion and adder; the young lion and the serpent shall you trample underfoot.) Because he has set his love upon Me, therefore will I deliver him; I will set him on high, because he knows and understands My name [has a personal knowledge of My mercy, love, and kindness–trusts and relies on Me, knowing I will never forsake him, no, never]. He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him. With long life will I satisfy him and show him My salvation.

Labor of Love

 1 Thessalonians 1:3

Remembering without ceasing your work of faith, and labour of love, and patience of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ, in the sight of God and our Father;

The labor of Love is a work of the spirit that is well pleasing to God. When we think of Love we don’t generally think of it in terms of work or labor. The scripture here in Thessalonians describes Love as labor.

Now, many times people consider the word labor to be a negative word. A word associated with pain and strenuous effort. They see it as hard work and struggle.

The word labor defined:

• The supply of work or workers for a particular job, industry, or employer.

• Work done using the strength of the body.

I like the term supply of work; to me it implies giving of what you already have. When you give and do your part out of the supply that you already have it takes the struggle out. God does not expect us to do anything in our own strength. He supplies all our needs so that we can work in love. Labor of Love speaks boldly to us that Love is our business or work while we are here on the earth. Everything we do should be born out of the Love of God.

The term strength of the body in the definition above caught my attention in that labor should be a unified force. Every member of the body doing their part working together for the cause of Christ. When every part is doing its work of faith, and labor of love it produces a greater ease, a quicker and more efficient work.

So as you work for the Kingdom of God today remember it is a Labor of Love employed by Love.

It is Attainable

 Compromise defined:

• A settlement of a dispute in which two or more sides agree to accept less than they originally wanted.

• Something that somebody accepts because what was wanted is unattainable.

What part of your God given destiny have you compromised? Are there things God has shown you about your future, things He would like you to attain?

Now as you consider those things which of those things have you given up on because you reasoned in your mind saying, “Oh that will never happen in my life.”

Look long and hard at the picture God showed you of your destiny, if that’s not what you see in your life today you need to re-ignite the fires of passion in your soul and pursue with all your heart the plan God has for your life. Compromise must never be an option where your destiny is concerned. Fight the good fight of faith and fight to win. Don’t settle for anything less than what God has shown you. Your destiny is important to God and to us. Never retreat into a life of complacency; it will strip you of your passion.

Whatever God showed you are attainable, so press beyond reason and aim for the target and watch the power of God propel you into purpose.

Philippians 3:14 (AMP)

I press on toward the goal to win the [supreme and heavenly] prize to which God in Christ Jesus is calling us upward.

Pray With Confidence

 1 John 5:14-15

And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us:

And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.

Praying yields great results when we pray according to His will. God’s will is His Word. When we take the time to search the scriptures to see what God has said concerning our situation or need we receive not only guidance on what to pray for but faith to receive what we have ask for. God is not a man that He should lie; He will perform what we ask of Him if we ask according to His will.

Prayer is not burdensome, it is life changing and fulfilling. Prayer is vital to our existence here on the earth. Prayer is not an option, it is our spiritual oxygen.

To communion with God on the level of ask, seek, and knock is a privilege too often ignored. We must take full advantage of our right as born-again believers to pray.

So as you communion with God today remember to pray according to His will and have confidence that He hears you and will answer you.

Continue

 2Timothy 3:13-17 (AMP)

But as for you, continue to hold to the things that you have learned and of which you are convinced, knowing from whom you learned [them], And how from your childhood you have had a knowledge of and been acquainted with the sacred Writings, which are able to instruct you and give you the understanding for salvation which comes through faith in Christ Jesus [through the leaning of the entire human personality on God in Christ Jesus in absolute trust and confidence in His power, wisdom, and goodness]. Every Scripture is God-breathed (given by His inspiration) and profitable for instruction, for reproof and conviction of sin, for correction of error and discipline in obedience, [and] for training in righteousness (in holy living, in conformity to God’s will in thought, purpose, and action),

So that the man of God may be complete and proficient, well fitted and thoroughly equipped for every good work.

In the above scriptures Paul said, “Continue to hold to the things that you have learned and of which you are convinced.” That word continue denotes consistency. In order for good fruit to be produced in our lives, we must plant good seed in good ground and then consistently water that good seed with life-producing water. It doesn’t matter if the ground is good and the seed is good, if you began to water it with poison, the seed will not produce, it will eventually die. It was not the seed or the ground’s fault that the seed did not produce. It was your responsibility to keep the waters pure that flow into your heart.

Blessed

 Psalms 1

Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.

But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.

And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.

The ungodly are not so: but are like the chaff which the wind driveth away.

Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.

For the LORD knoweth the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish.

What waters are you planted by? The fruit that a person is bearing is evidence of the water that supplies their life. When we as born-again believers receive counsel from the ungodly we yield the soil of our heart to corrupt seed that will ultimately produce corrupt fruit. Our position is in Christ where rivers of life flow. God’s word causes our lives to flourish and yield luscious healthy edible fruit that nourish many. The rivers of water that flow out to us from the word of God keep us clean and our fruit untainted. When we delight in God’s word and allow it to saturate and penetrate every area of our lives; whatever we do will prosper and our work here on the earth will never wither.

Take Charge of the Moment

 Mark 5:39-42

And when he was come in, he saith unto them, Why make ye this ado, and weep? the damsel is not dead, but sleepeth. And they laughed him to scorn. But when he had put them all out, he taketh the father and the mother of the damsel, and them that were with him, and entereth in where the damsel was lying. And he took the damsel by the hand, and said unto her, Talitha cumi; which is, being interpreted, Damsel, I say unto thee, arise. And straightway the damsel arose, and walked; for she was of the age of twelve years. And they were astonished with a great astonishment.

Never take personal an opportunity where God can use you to be powerful in Him.

This account of the miracle in Mark 5 where Jesus raised Jairus daughter from the dead is a perfect example of how we will be presented with opportunities to be powerful in God, if we don’t choose to take the assault of the enemy personally. Jesus came to do good but there were people there that laughed Him to scorn. He could have yielded to the temptation to be selfish and focus on the intended offense but He took the high road and yielded to the plan of God and a girl was raised from the dead, PRAISE BE TO GOD!

Many times people become self centered during a trial or in the midst of persecution from the enemy. They begin to take personal the attack, allowing the situation to govern there mind, will and emotions, allowing a flood of wrong thoughts and inappropriate behavior to follow. If we would only take a minute, step back ( stop, look and listen) and yield to God in total surrender and deep fellowship we would find strength and direction in the midst of the storm, resulting in us being a powerful witness for God. We need to hear what the Spirit is saying to us and then quickly follow His guidance. His strength empowers us to demand absolute surrender and death to the flesh and selfishness. It allows you to see the door of opportunity to be powerful in God and glorify His name.

Our Shepherd is Always There

The Lord Jesus Christ loves you so much. No matter what you maybe going through He will never leave you nor forsake you. God is faithful to be with you and provide whatever you need; strength, courage, wisdom, protection, etc.

Meditate on His goodness today and allow the 23rd Psalms to refresh and renew your trust and dependence on our Lord, today.

Psalms 23 (amplified)

THE LORD is my Shepherd [to feed, guide, and shield me], I shall not lack

He makes me lie down in [fresh, tender] green pastures; He leads me beside the still and restful waters.

He refreshes and restores my life (my self); He leads me in the paths of righteousness [uprightness and right standing with Him–not for my earning it, but] for His name’s sake.

Yes, though I walk through the [deep, sunless] valley of the shadow of death, I will fear or dread no evil, for You are with me; Your rod [to protect] and Your staff [to guide], they comfort me.

You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with [a]oil; my [brimming] cup runs over.

Surely or only goodness, mercy, and unfailing love shall follow me all the days of my life, and through the length of my days the house of the Lord [and His presence] shall be my dwelling place.
