Calling for Destination Participation

John 4:3-4  He left Judea and departed again into Galilee. And he must needs go through Samaria.

The word destination is from the root word destiny. Destinies are composed of a series of predetermined events that bring a person to a specific place, season or time in their life. A person’s destination is highly connected to purpose. A destination is the place to which somebody or something is going or must go.

According to John 4:3-4, Jesus journeyed to 3 particular cities: Judea, Galilee and Samaria. Neither of these places was His final destination but only a part of His journey. Each place had its specific purpose in the fulfilling of His entire course.

Jesus final destination called for active participation, not just mere day dreaming.

Many times we rejoice in proclaiming the vision and dreams God has reveal to our spirit by the Holy Spirit but then we sometimes forget to actively participate in what we’ve seen. God is not revealing specific things concerning your destiny just for you to daydream about them, He wants participation. We sometimes sit idle viewing our future as it were on a movie screen seeing in our spirit pictures of God given assignments and snap shots of the things God wants us to do and places He wants us to go.

It was necessary that Jesus go to Samaria the scriptures tell us. What if He would have just preached and shouted about the revelation of the deliverance that should come to Samaria but never took an active part in the fulfillment of what he saw in His spirit.

God is calling for active participation from us to fulfill our God given destinies, so stop day dreaming and get up from that lounge chair start taking steps toward the things He has revealed to you concerning your destiny.

Road Signs

 Proverbs 3:5-6 (AMP)
Lean on, trust in, and be confident in the Lord with all your heart and mind and do not rely on your own insight or understanding. In all your ways know, recognize, and acknowledge Him, and He will direct and make straight and plain your paths.

Many times when traveling on a familiar road we tend not to pay attention to the road signs because we have been down that particular road before. We casually glance at the signs as we confidently go our way assuring ourselves we know where we are going. How many times do we tell others, “Oh I’ve been there so many times I could get there with my eyes closed. But how many times have you been on a familiar road but your exit was different because you were going to another place that day and you almost missed your exit because you were so used to going to that familiar place.

Sometimes we can miss vital Divine directions in our lives because of routine familiarity. We begin to assume we know exacting what God is going to tell us to do, so much so that we stop asking Him for direction because we think we already know the answer and the way. We reason within ourselves from our own lifes experiences that we know what is ahead. But God said in His Word that He would give us daily bread. The bread may look the same as yesterday’s bread, it may feel the same, it may even taste the same but if it was prepared for today than it is today’s bread not yesterday’s bread.

Sometimes we can also lose value and direction in relationships with others because we assume we know that person so well just because we have been around them for years. You can lose the initial respect and purpose God brought you together with that person for. Even though that person may have changed in many ways you still see them as your little girl or boy, or our high school sweetheart, or that’s just my parents etc.

Hearing from God daily is so vitally important to life success. Today is a new day, a day we have never seen before. Everything in your day may look exactly like it looked yesterday but today is not yesterday it is today. Don’t assume you know today just because you made it through yesterday. Take time to find out what God has for you today because even though it may look like yesterday in all actuality you have never seen today before. So trust God to guide you every day in every way, fully trusting and depending on Him to lead the way.

Persistence

John 8:31-32Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

Persistence defined: the quality of continuing steadily despite problems or difficulties.
To continue in something take tremendous effort and discipline; especially when surrounding circumstances become difficult to bear. Persistence defines what you’re made of. Many times people talk a good talk but when it comes down to doing the do they retreat in fear. Obtaining Godly success takes more than smooth talking; it takes faith walking.

Jesus said, “If you continue in my word.” He wasn’t speaking negative by inserting the word, if, He was simply speaking truth. Jesus knew the importance of persistence. He was teaching His disciplines the value of consistency despite difficulties. Persistence is a quality that must be developed through practice.

Start with the little things in your life; unfinished projects and unfulfilled promises that you’ve make to yourself and others. The little things will help you prepare for the bigger things.
When the road of life you are traveling is suddenly faced with a vicious storm you are now qualified and equip to master it.

Can We Grow a Little Further

Growth is precipitated by germination, in the Christian life we call it revelation.

The word germinate is defined as to begin to grow. (Merriam-Webster, 2022). The word revelation is defined: as act of revealing or communicating divine truth. something that is revealed by God to humans. (Merriam-Webster, 2022).

Jesus declared in John 8:30-32As he spake these words, many believed on him. Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

Knowing the truth of God’s Word is the catalyst for personal growth in the will of God. Knowing God’s Word speaks to intimacy and closeness, meaning it is a part of you and your everyday life. God’s Word will produce fruitfulness or growth as we yield to it and/or follow Jesus’ teaching.

The bible declares in 1 Peter 2:2-3,  As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby: If so be ye have tasted that the Lord is gracious.

It is recorded  in the scriptures, that Jesus grew, Luke 2:39-40, And when they had performed all things according to the law of the Lord, they returned into Galilee, to their own city Nazareth. 40 And the child grew, and waxed strong in spirit, filled with wisdom: and the grace of God was upon him.

Growth and development in the life of a Christian doesn’t just happen. It happens because you and I become intentional about our progress in the kingdom of God and our relationship and stewardship with God.

Growing in God is a process and/or journey, so never settle for stagnation or idleness. When a car is idle it is sitting still and not moving forward.

Idle defined:

  • Spend time doing nothing.
  • Without purpose or effect: pointless.
  • To run at low power and often disconnected usually so that power is not used for useful work.

In scriptures tell us, 2 Peter 3:17-18 (AMP),  Therefore, [let me warn you] beloved, knowing these things beforehand, be on your guard so that you are not carried away by the error of [a]unprincipled men [who distort doctrine] and fall from your own steadfastness [of mind, knowledge, truth, and faith], 18 but grow [spiritually mature] in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be glory (honor, majesty, splendor), both now and to the day of eternity. Amen

God the Father, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit lives in the heart of every true Christian. Their presence confirms purpose. Purpose requires progress and progress requires participation. Every season of life is intended to promote growth and development for your Christian journey in the earth. The opportunities are all around us and in us, so let us move forward and – grow a little further today and everyday through Christ our Redeemer!

Philippians 2:12-14 (AMP), So then, my dear ones, just as you have always obeyed [my instructions with enthusiasm], not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence, continue to work out your salvation [that is, cultivate it, bring it to full effect, actively pursue spiritual maturity] with awe-inspired fear and trembling [using serious caution and critical self-evaluation to avoid anything that might offend God or discredit the name of Christ]. 13 For it is [not your strength, but it is] [a]God who is effectively at work in you, both to will and to work [that is, strengthening, energizing, and creating in you the longing and the ability to fulfill your purpose] for His good pleasure. 14 Do everything without murmuring or questioning [the providence of God].

Obeying Road Signs

Deuteronomy 10:12-13 (MSG)

So now Israel, what do you think God expects from you? Just this: Live in his presence in holy reverence, follow the road he sets out for you, love him, serve God, your God, with everything you have in you, obey the commandments and regulations of God that I’m commanding you today—live a good life.

Following the road God has before us requires our attention during the journey and/or road of life. It is easy to get off on the wrong exits when we don’t follow specific directions or instructions. The great thing about following God is that He has already created the map for your journey and knows all the road signs that He has placed along the way. The specific yield signs, turns and stops are all strategically placed for guidance along the way. However, we must stay alert while driving life’s way.

Hit The Target

Hey,

What goals do you want to achieve in your life? Life here in the earth is a short journey, however we must be willing to make it count. Success in life does not happen my coincidence. Are you ready to make it happen, with the help of God.  Yes, that’s correct, God wants to help you not make or force you. We must be willing to give life all we got and put for the needed effort to succeed. Blame is a game that never wins. Let’s invest in what is valuable, our life!

Habakkuk 2:1-3
I will stand upon my watch, and set me upon the tower, and will watch to see what he will say unto me, and what I shall answer when I am reproved. And the LORD answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it. For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.

There is something admirable about effort. I applaud every noble cause but a cause without effort equals failure. The prophet Habakkuk declared that he would stand on his watch. Many times people are not willing to put any effort to seeing the plan that God has for their life fulfilled. Now, don’t misunderstand me, I do believe in sweat- less victories; meaning not trying to obtain things in your own strength. However the scriptures tell us that we can do all things through Christ that strengthens us. Well, what does God strengthen us for? He strengthens us for us to do all things. Yes, it is God’s strength but we must participate and do our part. If you want a job then you need to get up and go apply for one, they don’t just drop out of the sky because God just strengthen you.

Habakkuk chose to seek God to see what the Lord would say to him and God in returned answered him. God has things to say to you, He wants you to hit the target of your destiny.

Target defined:
• A goal or objective toward which effort is directed.

When God begins to reveal His plans and purposes to us we then have something to target. That Divine plan becomes our bulls-eye. It’s important to write down what God says to us and then keep it before our eyes like a target. God will always fulfill His Word but we must believe. Believing is part of our effort. It is easier to hit a fixed target as opposed to a moving target. When I say a moving target I mean something that keeps changing. God is not changing targets on you every other day. He means what He says and says what He means. The vision God has given you may not fully come to pass today or tomorrow but you can be assured that it will come to pass, just like He said. So write the vision and make it plain, run with it and don’t stop until you have seen His good will come to pass at last.

Power in Praise

Psalms 103: 1-2

Bless the LORD, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name.

Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits:

The psalmist was exercising spirit control over soul control. He refused to allow his soul and body to dictate his covenant praise for God. Yes, covenant praise. We were created to praise and worship God. The scriptures tell us “let everything that hath breath praise the Lord”!

The psalmist said “everything within me”. That means we should never halfheartedly praise God. We should not allow our soul to go on a spiritual vacation when we praise and worship our wonderful, worthy Lord. We need to take control and command our soul and body to be in unity with our spirit to praise God with everything that is within us. God’s presence demands respect, honor and praise. To resist the unction to function in a spirit of praise in His presence is nothing short of pride and rebellion. God deserves radical praise. He is worthy of humble adoration. God inhabits the praises of His people. Wherever God is there is power. The power of God is not only released in us but through us to others as well. God’s power plus your praise is an unbeatable pair. Go ahead, release God’s power in your neighborhood, in your family, in your marriage, and on your job through your unified: spirit, soul and body praise.

Living Large

Judges 18:9-10

And they said, Arise, that we may go up against them: for we have seen the land, and, behold, it is very good: and are ye still? be not slothful to go, and to enter to possess the land.

When ye go, ye shall come unto a people secure, and to a large land: for God hath given it into your hands; a place where there is no want of any thing that is in the earth.

God wants His children to live large! But we must be willing to rise up and go get what He has already given to us. The things God has provided for us are worth the effort. The scripture says to not be slothful. Well that word slothful means don’t be lazy. Laziness is a deadly hindrance to our destiny. It will pickpocket your divine vision and steal your dreams.

Laziness defined

• Unwilling to do any work or make an effort

• Moving slow

We must arm ourselves against this enemy of our faith and destiny. You must never allow your will to oppose God’s will for your life. Don’t argue and resist God’s plans and purposes for you by being lazy or complaining and  focusing on your inabilities. Make an effort to get up and go where He wants you to go. Get excited about things He has called you to do and then do them with the right attitude. Enter into your land of promise with the intent to take over. This is not a time to window shop, it’s time to possess.

God is extravagant; don’t limit your land to a small square foot. It’s a large land. Let God stretch your imagination and boost your expectation through meditation and supernatural insight. Be ready to see with your heart the things God reveals to you. Believe and receive! God has a place for you where there is no want or lack of anything that is in the earth. He is our Shepherd we shall not want!

So rise up and live large today!

By Faith

Hebrews 11:7

By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; by the which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith.

God’s plan for Noah included his whole house. God loves people even His enemies.

God gave Noah an assignment and Noah’s obedience to that assignment brought great blessing to him and his family. God loves your family. Can you think of any family members that God has been dealing with you to reach out to? Your obedience and/or disobedience to the plans and assignments God has for your life are most always connected to other people. The plans God has for your life are very strategic and important but they will not be obtained without faith. The Bible tells us that faith comes by hearing the Word of God.

Noah heard from God. The words that God spoke to Noah produced faith. With the faith of God Noah prepared an ark and saved his whole family.

STOP, LOOK AND LISTEN! God is speaking to you by His Word and by His Holy Spirit.

Hear and Obey.

Someone maybe waiting to begin a new life with Christ, TODAY.

Submit to the Leading of the Holy Spirit

John 16:12-14

I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now.

Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come. He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you.

Jesus made it very clear from this scripture, who He had appointed to guide His church. He gave the Holy Spirit to every believer to escort and pilot us in the way of truth. God did not just leave us truth but He also provided the one who would Help us comprehend it. When Jesus spoke these words to His disciples they were mere unchanged men because Jesus had not given His life on the cross yet. Jesus told them that He had many, not a few but many things to say to them but because the Holy Spirit was not living in them yet they would not understand or comprehend the meaning of His words. If we are to live by every word that proceeds out of God’s mouth (Matthew 4:4), it is so important that we have understanding. Just hearing the word of God without understanding what was said leaves the hearer no better having heard. The bible says we should not just be hearers of God’s word but doers (James 1:22-23), however, if there is a lack or breech in ones understanding how can they accurately obey. How many times have you set in a lecture, conference, class, or group of one or two people and everyone heard the same thing but when questioned concerning what you heard, it was very clear not all had the same understanding. Well, God wants all of His children to be on the same page and with clear understanding of what He has spoken.  God did not ask us to put our own twist or interpretation on His message. We are commanded in the book of Revelation not to add to or take away from God’s word.

Many times God may speak one word to you during a time of fellowship or prayer with Him. For instance, you may hear the word “go.” Well most people are familiar with the natural meaning of the word go. Go is a very simple, basic, elementary word that most people would not need much explanation or interpretation. However, God revealed to us in Isaiah 55:9, that our thoughts (human intellect), are no match for His thoughts. Without the guidance of the Holy Spirit we would begin to reason in our mind what God meant when He spoke the word “go.” But God did not want our earthly lives to be lead by human reasoning. Human nature does not like being out of control, it wants to be in charge and out in front all the time, that’s why we must yield to the Holy Spirit. We must welcome and surrender to the comfort of the Holy Ghost at all times. The Holy Spirit will not intervene if you want to be the one in front and in control. The bible tells us in 1 Peter 5:6, to humble ourselves under the mighty hand of God. The word humble means to submit and the phrase mighty hand of God means; God’s control or authority. We must submit and yield our whole being to God’s governing authority. Our heavenly Father loves us and He will never force or drive us into submission. He is not referring to the human perspective of submission but rather a divine revelation of love which produces submission. When we become intimately acquainted with Love it is easy to surrender and/or submit to it because there is no fear in love. Perfect Love cast out fear (1 John 4:18). God is Love and there is no darkness in Him (1 John 4:16). If you Love God then you will follow Him, let Him lead the way. You are not a robot but a spirit being created by God and given the power of choice.

God will give us the understanding of what He is saying to us if we continue to seek Him for more. Don’t get ahead of God just wait upon Him and lean not to your own understanding but acknowledge Him and He will direct your path ( Proverbs 3:5-6).

So choose to allow the Holy Spirit to go before you and be your guide every day in every way. He will never lead you astray!
