DESPISED AND REJECTED

Isaiah 53:3-5

He was despised and rejected— a man of sorrows, acquainted with deepest grief. We turned our backs on him and looked the other way. He was despised, and we did not care. Yet it was our weaknesses he carried; it was our sorrows that weighed him down. And we thought his troubles were a punishment from God, a punishment for his own sins! But he was pierced for our rebellion, crushed for our sins. He was beaten so we could be whole. He was whipped so we could be healed.

Jesus was despised and rejected by men. He was acquainted and/or familiar with grief and sorrow. He showed love yet hatred was returned. He forgave yet He was accused. He was the most gentle and kindest person who has ever walked this earth however He was look down on and withheld love from. Jesus was intensely disliked and people refused to believe in Him yet He loved and prayed for them. People spoke evil against Him and fabricated lies about Him yet He had compassion on them.

Jesus’ response to their ill will was proof that He was not like them.

Despise defined:

  • to look down on with contempt or aversion
  • to regard as negligible, worthless, or distasteful
  • to dislike intensely

Reject defined:

  •  to refuse to believe, accept, consider, submit to or make use of.
  • to rebuff, repel, refuse to hear, or withhold love from; especially : to communicate negative feelings toward and a wish to be free of

It is not always easy to be rejected by people and to feel the wrath of their dislike and disapproval of you. Oftentimes, are pain and uneasiness in these kinds of situations come from trust that has been misplaced.

The bible says, “It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in man.” Psalms 118:8

We erroneously thought that just because someone was nice to us that they liked us or just because they hired us for a job that they believed in us or were for us. We trusted in their temporary behavior and disregarded the warning of our Master.

“Lo, thou trustest in the staff of this broken reed, on Egypt; whereon if a man lean, it will go into his hand, and pierce it: so is Pharaoh king of Egypt to all that trust in him.” Isaiah 36:6

You can’t lean on, rely on, and depend on something that is broken and faulty, it will inevitably injure you at the end of the day. The world and all that dwell in darkness are broken, they must come to God to be made whole. Remember Jesus said, “Without me you can do nothing.” (John 15).

When the Love of God is not in a person’s heart (spirit) they don’t possess the power to love or accept you, no matter how many temporary compliments they give you throughout the day. Stop expecting something out of them that they can’t produce.

Rejection and dislike/hatred are a part of their unregenerated human nature (the nature of man without God). Don’t except apple juice when you squeeze a lemon. Why get disappointed and dismayed (disheartened, discouraged, downcast, intimidated, depressed, distressed, and perturbed) when the world (man) reject and despises you?

Say this with me:   “In God have I put my trust, I will not be afraid what man can do unto me.” Psalms 56:11

Don’t become trapped and ensnared by what they supposedly can or can’t do for you.

The Bible says, “The fear of man bringeth a snare, but whoso putteth his trust in the Lord shall be safe.” Proverbs 29:25

Jehovah, the El Shaddai (The Almighty God, The All Sufficient One) is your God and Father, He will provide for and protect you!

There is a remedy and safe-guard against the poisonous venom of rejection and dislike. There is a preventative vaccine that inhibits harmful effects from these arrows of destruction. You possess the greatest antidote for every bite/attack of the enemy. Jesus gave us the answer through His life and teachings. He spoke the Word of God – It Is Written…

You don’t have to fear and settle for the adverse effects and the pain of rejection, you are free from that through the blood of Christ.

So rejoice and be exceedingly glad because, “If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.” John 8:36

Be Discreet, Attentive and Ready!

Luke 21:34-36 (AMP)

But take heed to yourselves and be on your guard, lest your hearts be overburdened and depressed (weighed down) with the giddiness and headache and nausea of self-indulgence, drunkenness, and worldly worries and cares pertaining to [the business of] this life, and [lest] that day come upon you suddenly like a trap or a noose; For it will come upon all who live upon the face of the entire earth. Keep awake then and watch at all times [be discreet, attentive, and ready], praying that you may have the full strength and ability and be accounted worthy to escape all these things [taken together] that will take place, and to stand in the presence of the Son of Man.

Jesus is my hero and He is soon to return for His church. Will you be ready to meet the Lord in the air? (1 Thessalonians 4:16-18)

Ready is synonymous with  prepared, equipped, complete, organized, arranged, and set.

Discreet defined: having or showing discernment or good judgment in conduct and especially in speech.

Attentive defined: paying close attention to something.

Jesus gave specific instructions in the above scriptures to His body. He charged us to take heed to ourselves, meaning be sober and know what and in whom you have believed. He was saying take note and pay attention to what’s going on in your inner and outer life. Take heed; observe the words that are coming out of your mouth. Take heed to the people you hang around and the influences you allow in your heart and mind. Guard and examine your life on a regular bases as not to neglect your personal responsibility to fight the good fight of faith and stay unspotted from the world.

He warns us not to be overburdened and depressed with the things of this life. A person can become so wrapped up and involved in the ways, culture, traditions and life-styles of this world that it consumes every minute of their day and night. Christians were not left here in the world to fit in or befriend the world; we are here to be ministers of reconciliation, salt and light, Ambassadors from the Kingdom of God to a lost and dying world. The very people you are trying to impress in this world will one day die and go to hell if we (Christians) don’t rise up and be light and lead them to Christ. Your need to be loved, accepted and approved by this world is selfish and of the flesh, it has no foundation in the love of God. Love rescues sinners. Love speaks the truth. Love lays down its life for others. Love covers a multitude of sin. Love will leave the ninety secure sheep and go after the one lost sheep. Love endures and is patient and kind. Love is not waiting patiently for the world to be condemned and punished but rather for those who are deceived and blinded by darkness to come to the light. The power of Love can turn a dark and wicked heart from darkness to light from the power of Satan to God. It doesn’t matter how wicked and evil a person’s heart may be, one Word from God can change it in an instant!

We must be awake and stay alert to the time we are in and be strong, bold, courage, steadfast, sober, meek, and gentle soldiers of Christ. God so loved the world; people, that He gave His only begotten Son for all. God did not hate or despise sinners He came to rescue us from sin and death. He did not sit in Heaven and rejoice because we were on our way to hell, no, He came and saved us. Praise His Name. Thank God He believed there was hope for us even when we were in sin. He looked on the worst and saw the best. He spoke light and life to us not misery and doom. He embraced us when we were dirty and covered with the filth of unrighteousness. He reached into the our once grave of bondage and despair and lifted us out to enjoy a new clean life in Christ. His Love saw our condition and created a solution so that whosoever would call upon His Name would be saved!

Now He says to you and I go into all the world (with love) and preach/proclaim this Good News! God is saying SPEAK TO THE LOST, say what He has instructed us to say. God loves them and He sent His Son to die so that they could live! Love never fails. We must never give up on the redeeming power of love. Without love all people would be doomed to an eternal life in hell. God is not willing that any would perish but that all would come to repentance (2 Peter 3:9). If God is not willing then we should not be willing. Jesus said, that He came to seek and save the lost (Luke 19:10). Seek is the same as; to pursue, to look for, search for, try to find, hunt for, seek out and find.

Seek defined:

  • to go in search for, look for

Don’t let the sinister strategies of Satan and his dark kingdom disconnect you from the seeking  power of Love. Love is a strategic hunter in pursuit of treasure! However, we must watch out for pirates and spiritual abortionist that seek to sabotage love’s plan for every man.

And many false prophets will appear and will deceive many people. Sin will be rampant everywhere, and the love of many will grow cold.  But the one who endures to the end will be saved.

Matthew 24:11-13 (NLT)

We must give people the opportunity to believe in Christ and not be like Jonah and refuse to preach to them because we see their wickedness. We can never be used to help God reach a lost world if we don’t even love them. Love is expressive. God so loved us that He – gave! What are we giving besides are action-less words and opinions.

Let God be the Judge and let us be the instruments of the Almighty and speak as we are commanded like Ezekiel (37th chapter) to the dry bones and watch God resurrect the dead to life!

Let us serve God in an attitude of humility and godly fear, being filled with compassion. Let us pray that we would be worthy to be used by God  to convert the most wicked person, in our eyes, to Christ and save a soul from death.

We still have time to spread the message of the Kingdom of God and see many souls come to repentance! Let’s forget about ourselves for a few seconds and focus on the cause of the Kingdom!

Praise His Name Forever. He is coming back soon for a church without spot or blemish, be ready, stay steady!

IT’S ATTAINABLE

Compromise defined:

  •  A settlement of a dispute in which two or more sides agree to accept less than they originally wanted.
  • Something that somebody accepts because what was wanted is unattainable.

What part of your God given destiny have you compromised? Are there things God has shown you about your future, things He would like you to attain?

Now as you consider those things which of those things have you given up on because you reasoned in your mind saying, “Oh that will never happen in my life.”

Look long and hard at the picture God showed you of your destiny, if that’s not what you see in your life today you need to re-ignite the fires of passion in your soul and pursue with all your heart the plan God has for your life. Compromise must never be an option where your destiny is concerned. Fight the good fight of faith and fight to win. Don’t settle for anything less than what God has shown you. Your destiny is important to God and to us. Never retreat into a life of complacency; it will strip you of your passion.

Whatever God showed you are attainable, so press beyond reason and aim for the target and watch the power of God propel you into purpose.

Philippians 3:14 (AMP)

I press on toward the goal to win the [supreme and heavenly] prize to which God in Christ Jesus is calling us upward.
