BE NOT DECEIVED

Galatians 6:7-8

Do not be deceived and deluded and misled; God will not allow Himself to be sneered at (scorned, disdained, or mocked by mere pretensions or professions, or by His precepts being set aside.) [He inevitably deludes himself who attempts to delude God.] For whatever a man sows, that and that only is what he will reap.

For he who sows to his own flesh (lower nature, sensuality) will from the flesh reap decay and ruin and destruction, but he who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life.

 Deceived defined:

• To mislead or deliberately hide the truth from somebody

• To convince yourself of something that is not true

The worst kind of deception is self deception. The scripture warns us not to be deceived because God is not mocked. If we live a life of pretense we will reap the results.

It is deception to think you will receive things only obtained by faith, yet you don’t live a life governed by faith. It is deception to think you will receive the benefits of prayer when you never spend time with God. To pretend that you are doing something and you really aren’t is insanity. Many times people try to pretend they are people of prayer but the only time they pray is when they are around other people of prayer. They live a life of mere outward show and lip service. We must be honest with ourselves and examine our lives and motives before we are caught holding the bag of pretense. If we are true to our own heart we will examine our lives and make the necessary adjustments and begin to live a life untainted by deception.

DRAW NEAR TO HIM

Matthew 11:28-30 (AMP)

Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy-laden and overburdened, and I will cause you to rest. [I will ease and relieve and refresh your souls.]

Take My yoke upon you and learn of Me, for I am gentle (meek) and humble (lowly) in heart, and you will find rest (relief and ease and refreshment and recreation and blessed quiet) for your souls.

For My yoke is wholesome (useful, good–not harsh, hard, sharp, or pressing, but comfortable, gracious, and pleasant), and My burden is light and easy to be borne.

The Lord wants daily fellowship and communion with us. However, God will not intrude or crash down the door of our hearts to make us fellowship with Him. He will not compete with the clamor of this world for your attention. God is with us and dwells in every believer in Christ. We must draw near to Him and seek Him. We must desire communion with Him.

The world is speaking and calling for our attention every day. It seeks to distract and allure you away from your God given purpose. The flesh, the world and the devil screams for your attention 24/7. There are things designed to capture you attention and your interest, in an attempt to pull your heart and devotion toward it and away from God. Don’t surrender to its sway.

God has a purpose for your life but it will only be fulfilled as we closely follow Him. God does not seek to draw your attention through the lust of the eye. He will quietly appeal to your spirit. The scripture reveals to us that the spirit of man is the candle of the Lord. God will lead and guide us through our born-again spirits. But this happens only as we yield to Him, He will not force us to come to Him.

Purpose in your heart to diligently seek the Lord every day. Turn your attention several times throughout the day to Him and cultivate your devotion and fellowship with Him.

HIGH PRIORITY

1Thessalonians 5:17

Pray without ceasing

Prayer is the conduit that helps divine resources and supplies pass from heaven to earth. God provided every believer with the ability to pray. The Holy Spirit will also assist us with Kingdom communication. We must know how to properly dialogue in God’s Kingdom. When you properly communicate with someone there is an exchange that takes place. Failure to communicate with our Heavenly Father could be deadly.

However, we have been granted access to the very throne of God. God said COME BOLDLY. (Hebrews 4:16)

Matthew 4:4

But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.

Talking with God throughout your day is vital and must never be taken for granted or seen as trivial. Remember your union and fellowship with Him should be the highest priority of the day, even if you have to put others on the line, on hold.

Your life is worth the investment. Pray without ceasing!

Praying with Confidence

1 John 5:14-15

And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us: And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.

Praying yields great results when we pray according to His will. God’s will is His Word. When we take the time to search the scriptures to see what God has said concerning our situation or need we receive not only guidance on what to pray for but faith to receive what we have ask for. God is not a man that He should lie; He will perform what we ask of Him if we ask according to His will.

Prayer is not burdensome, it is life changing and fulfilling. Prayer is vital to our existence here on the earth. Prayer is not an option, it is our spiritual oxygen.

To communion with God on the level of ask, seek, and knock is a privilege too often ignored. We must take full advantage of our right as born-again believers to pray.

So as you communion with God today remember to pray according to His will and have confidence that He hears you and will answer you.
