Your faith fails not!

Psalms 27: 1  The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid.

God has not given you a spirit of fear, as we know from 2 Timothy 1:7. Fear is a tormenting force that comes from the kingdom of darkness to rob you of your salvation. God is not the author of fear but rather of faith.

Fear speaks of failure and inadequacies, but faith speaks strength and divine life. Whenever the devil whispers to you that you’re nothing but a failure, look him right in the face with your faith and let him know, you’re not in control fear, my faith is in control.

I have strength for all things in Christ Who empowers me. (I am ready for anything and equal to anything through Him Who infuses inner strength into me; I am sufficient in Christ’s sufficiency). Philippians 4:13 amp.

Rejoice child of God and let your God given faith win every battle for you.

Confidence!

1John 5:14-15

And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us:

And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.

Confidence defined:

  • Belief or trust in somebody or something, or in the ability of somebody or something to act in a proper, trustworthy, or reliable manner.

It is so important for us to have confidence in God. Many people may think that when you become a Christian that this happens automatically but it does not. Human experience can often-times interfere with our confidence. For instance if a person had trust issues prior to being born-again due to failed relationships such as abandonment through divorce or neglect through improper parenting from childhood, it may be difficult not impossible, for them to immediately trust God with every area of their lives.

They truly love God but they need detoxifying of their soul (mind, will and emotions) and body from the hurtful  incidences of their past. Trust is established through experience. If someone tells you they will be there for you when you need them, then when opportunity arises they fail to come through, this can cause disappointment which in turn nurtures insecurities and cultivates mistrust.

When a baby is born there is a phase of normal growth and development called trust versus mistrust. If trust is to be established in that child’s life they must experience repeated positive interactions with the one in whom the trust is to be established with. This has to be done on a consistent basis to form a sort of bond with the other person. The child learns to trust or mistrust you based on your response to their needs. If you are consistent to come and attend to their needs when they cry they begin to trust and rely on you above all others. When they see your face come into a room they get so excited because they trust you and they know you will protect them, feed them, change them, comfort them, etc. Some of these things you may have never even done for them yet but because of your consistent positive response in other areas of their lives they trust you to be the same regarding new adventures as well.

God is trustworthy. But the best way to establish trust in any relationship is by experience. You can say that you trust God because of what you’ve heard Him do for others but nothing compares to your own experiences with God, they become priceless as you grow and develop in your relationship with God.

Another way that we can begin to develop confidence in God is through consistent meditation in His Word. God’s Word is alive, it is spirit, it is life. The Word of God has the ability to create supernatural knowledge and understanding in your spirit and soul to the point where you begin to know God in ways you have never known Him before through spiritual intimacy and fellowship. This kind of relationship is obtained through spiritual hunger and diligent seeking. His Word creates the bond of trust through the supernatural unveiling of who He is.

Trust and/or confidence promotes dependency. When you trust God you will begin to depend on Him for everything. You will come to Him for anything and involve Him in all things. You begin to understand and take full advantage of His love for you. You know without a shadow of a doubt that He will withhold nothing good from you. You become bold and confident in prayer knowing that your will is to do His will. Your confidence is unshakable concerning the Father. You know that He loves you and that He hears you and that He answers you.

Free to be me — in Christ

Be the you that God created you to be.

God created you with unique characteristics. God gave you gifts and special abilities to fulfill your special and unique assignment(s) here on the earth. However, He did not just create you for your purpose and/or assignment(s) here in the earth. He created you because he wanted you to exist so that He could love you and have a relationship with you forever. God was not satisfied with one man, Adam, to love and commune with, He wanted multitudes of individuals to love and live within. God then created us all unique individuals not carbon copies of an original, we are one of a kind originals.

God did not want multiple duplicates of Adam and Eve, meaning we all look alike physically and have the same voice tones etc., no with our uniqueness comes variety. We don’t all have to choose the color blue as our favorite color or like the same kinds of foods or enjoy the same leisure activities. However, our uniqueness was not given to us to cause division, jealousy and strife. Satan uses difference many times to conjure up lies to cause disruptions in godly fellowships. He ignites fires of hatred and brings offenses through venomous acts of competitive jealousy, unhealthy insecurities, etc. providing an open door for sin/disobedience.

The bible records in the book of Genesis the account of brother (Cain) rising up and killing brother (Abel).

“And Adam knew Eve his wife; and she conceived, and bare Cain, and said, I have gotten a man from the Lord. And she again bare his brother Abel. And Abel was a keeper of sheep, but Cain was a tiller of the ground. And in process of time it came to pass, that Cain brought of the fruit of the ground an offering unto the Lord. And Abel, he also brought of the firstlings of his flock and of the fat thereof. And the Lord had respect unto Abel and to his offering: But unto Cain and to his offering he had not respect. And Cain was very wroth, and his countenance fell. And the Lord said unto Cain, Why art thou wroth? and why is thy countenance fallen? If thou doest well, shalt thou not be accepted? and if thou doest not well, sin lieth at the door. And unto thee shall be his desire, and thou shalt rule over him. And Cain talked with Abel his brother: and it came to pass, when they were in the field, that Cain rose up against Abel his brother, and slew him. And the Lord said unto Cain, Where is Abel thy brother? And he said, I know not: Am I my brother’s keeper? And he said, What hast thou done? the voice of thy brother’s blood crieth unto me from the ground.”

–Genesis 4:1-10

There is a lot we can gleam from these verses of scripture. Cain and Abel had different assignments requiring different giftings. God did not create one brother superior and one inferior. However, it is obvious that over a process of time Cain began to see his brother as a problem an this infectious corrupt thinking lead to murder.

God did not make you unique so that you could be superior to someone else. No human being was created to be inferior and/or superior to another. Cain was angry and he allowed his anger to grow into a root of bitterness which defiled him.

We must stay in the light of God’s Word which keeps us free from the corruption and/or pollution of darkness.

The scripture clearly instructs us not to compare ourselves with others. This is sound wisdom to protect us from going astray.

“However, when they measure themselves with themselves and compare themselves with one another, they are without understanding and behave unwisely.”

–2 Corinthians 10:12b (AMP)

Thank God for your unique qualities but don’t become prideful because pride is a sin and sin produces death. God loves you so very much and His love is enough for you to never have a reason to feel inferior or insecure about who He has uniquely created YOU to be!

Be Careful What You Hear

Luke 9:44 Jesus said: ” Let these sayings sink down into your ears…

Are you listening? God has many things to say to you. The words that God speak are what we live by. Man was created by God and designed to live by every word that proceeds out of His mouth. His words are vital to our very existence. Jesus said let these sayings sink down, inferring there can be a shallow form of hearing. We hear but don’t hear, we hear and don’t understand what we hear and the words just become mere casual conversation. We must put a greater value on the words that God speak than any other words spoken to us, regardless at whatever time in our life they were spoken, no matter who else it was that said it. God’s word is spirit and it is life. It is not just something we can casually choose to ignore, without experiencing grave consequences. If God said His word is life to me and health to all my flesh, and that it is the very substance of my life, then for me to not partake of it would mean death and destruction. Oh yes, it’s that important. Jesus said let these words, meaning we can control how deep the Word penetrates our life. We can stop it’s progress when we don’t honor it, esteeming other things and words over it. When we place more importance on what somebody else is saying. Proper spiritual growth and development depends on what takes root in your life. The sayings that sink down deep are the ones we allow to guide and influence our everyday life. Critical decisions that we make daily, decisions that not only effect our lives but the lives of others, are all based on the things that we have allowed to sink down deep in our hearing. Be more selective and protective of the words you allow to go to the deeper parts of your being.

And He said to them, Be careful what you are hearing. The measure (of thought and study) you give (to the truth you hear) will be the measure (of virtue and knowledge) that comes back to you and more (besides) will be given to you who hear. Mark 4:24 (amp)

COURAGE!

Courage   by Cathy Harris

Courage is a virtue, freely given to us by God. We can enjoy its benefits every day.

Courage

God speaks to us from the words of scripture saying: Be strong and Courageous. Reminding us that courage is something we embrace by grace and not a purchase from the marketplace where the price is so high, it is available to some and not all.

Courage

Courage is the ability to face danger, difficulty, uncertainty, or pain without being overcome by fear or being deflected from a chosen course of action.

Courage

Courage enables us to rise from the seat of defeat and beat the odds, stacked against us.

Courage

Courage causes us to mature and endure through life’s painful moments while developing our skill and will to pursue purpose.

Courage causes the weary soul that has become overwhelmed with despair to pull up a chair at the table of life and declare: TODAY is my Day of victory.

Courage

Courage is seen and heard in the lion’s roar, as he approaches the shore, of his enemy. He seizes the opportunity to conqueror and crush the fear that draws near, to his throne.

Courage

Courage will never bow at the feet of mediocrity but will devote and promote excellence, integrity and nobility.

Courage

Courage wears the garment of peace laced in love.

Courage

Courage says – yesterday is gone and it’s time to move on, today is a new day and I will begin again and this time I’ll win!

Courage – Courage – Courage

It takes courage to seek godly solutions and in a world filled with deadly pollutions.

Courage

It takes courage to step out of the crowd of We can’t and walk down the high road of I can and I will through Christ.

So today, be encouraged! And remember to never give up on courage or the fruit it can produce in a life totally yielded to it because the mystery of its strength and the success of its purpose is that courage will never give up on you.

Joshua 1:9

Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.

Be Discreet, Attentive and Ready!

Luke 21:34-36 (AMP)

But take heed to yourselves and be on your guard, lest your hearts be overburdened and depressed (weighed down) with the giddiness and headache and nausea of self-indulgence, drunkenness, and worldly worries and cares pertaining to [the business of] this life, and [lest] that day come upon you suddenly like a trap or a noose; For it will come upon all who live upon the face of the entire earth. Keep awake then and watch at all times [be discreet, attentive, and ready], praying that you may have the full strength and ability and be accounted worthy to escape all these things [taken together] that will take place, and to stand in the presence of the Son of Man.

Jesus is my hero and He is soon to return for His church. Will you be ready to meet the Lord in the air? (1 Thessalonians 4:16-18)

Ready is synonymous with  prepared, equipped, complete, organized, arranged, and set.

Discreet defined: having or showing discernment or good judgment in conduct and especially in speech.

Attentive defined: paying close attention to something.

Jesus gave specific instructions in the above scriptures to His body. He charged us to take heed to ourselves, meaning be sober and know what and in whom you have believed. He was saying take note and pay attention to what’s going on in your inner and outer life. Take heed; observe the words that are coming out of your mouth. Take heed to the people you hang around and the influences you allow in your heart and mind. Guard and examine your life on a regular bases as not to neglect your personal responsibility to fight the good fight of faith and stay unspotted from the world.

He warns us not to be overburdened and depressed with the things of this life. A person can become so wrapped up and involved in the ways, culture, traditions and life-styles of this world that it consumes every minute of their day and night. Christians were not left here in the world to fit in or befriend the world; we are here to be ministers of reconciliation, salt and light, Ambassadors from the Kingdom of God to a lost and dying world. The very people you are trying to impress in this world will one day die and go to hell if we (Christians) don’t rise up and be light and lead them to Christ. Your need to be loved, accepted and approved by this world is selfish and of the flesh, it has no foundation in the love of God. Love rescues sinners. Love speaks the truth. Love lays down its life for others. Love covers a multitude of sin. Love will leave the ninety secure sheep and go after the one lost sheep. Love endures and is patient and kind. Love is not waiting patiently for the world to be condemned and punished but rather for those who are deceived and blinded by darkness to come to the light. The power of Love can turn a dark and wicked heart from darkness to light from the power of Satan to God. It doesn’t matter how wicked and evil a person’s heart may be, one Word from God can change it in an instant!

We must be awake and stay alert to the time we are in and be strong, bold, courage, steadfast, sober, meek, and gentle soldiers of Christ. God so loved the world; people, that He gave His only begotten Son for all. God did not hate or despise sinners He came to rescue us from sin and death. He did not sit in Heaven and rejoice because we were on our way to hell, no, He came and saved us. Praise His Name. Thank God He believed there was hope for us even when we were in sin. He looked on the worst and saw the best. He spoke light and life to us not misery and doom. He embraced us when we were dirty and covered with the filth of unrighteousness. He reached into the our once grave of bondage and despair and lifted us out to enjoy a new clean life in Christ. His Love saw our condition and created a solution so that whosoever would call upon His Name would be saved!

Now He says to you and I go into all the world (with love) and preach/proclaim this Good News! God is saying SPEAK TO THE LOST, say what He has instructed us to say. God loves them and He sent His Son to die so that they could live! Love never fails. We must never give up on the redeeming power of love. Without love all people would be doomed to an eternal life in hell. God is not willing that any would perish but that all would come to repentance (2 Peter 3:9). If God is not willing then we should not be willing. Jesus said, that He came to seek and save the lost (Luke 19:10). Seek is the same as; to pursue, to look for, search for, try to find, hunt for, seek out and find.

Seek defined:

  • to go in search for, look for

Don’t let the sinister strategies of Satan and his dark kingdom disconnect you from the seeking  power of Love. Love is a strategic hunter in pursuit of treasure! However, we must watch out for pirates and spiritual abortionist that seek to sabotage love’s plan for every man.

And many false prophets will appear and will deceive many people. Sin will be rampant everywhere, and the love of many will grow cold.  But the one who endures to the end will be saved.

Matthew 24:11-13 (NLT)

We must give people the opportunity to believe in Christ and not be like Jonah and refuse to preach to them because we see their wickedness. We can never be used to help God reach a lost world if we don’t even love them. Love is expressive. God so loved us that He – gave! What are we giving besides are action-less words and opinions.

Let God be the Judge and let us be the instruments of the Almighty and speak as we are commanded like Ezekiel (37th chapter) to the dry bones and watch God resurrect the dead to life!

Let us serve God in an attitude of humility and godly fear, being filled with compassion. Let us pray that we would be worthy to be used by God  to convert the most wicked person, in our eyes, to Christ and save a soul from death.

We still have time to spread the message of the Kingdom of God and see many souls come to repentance! Let’s forget about ourselves for a few seconds and focus on the cause of the Kingdom!

Praise His Name Forever. He is coming back soon for a church without spot or blemish, be ready, stay steady!

Don’t Let The Night Fall On Your Day!

We must work the works of Him Who sent Me and be busy with His business while it is daylight; night is coming on, when no man can work. John 9:4

It’s so good to see dawn breaking forth to usher in a new day. Daylight brings with it the sense of newness. New beginnings, new start, new opportunities, new strength, new ideas, new focus, new hope, new thoughts, new purpose, new mercy, new perspective, new passion, new vision, new genesis.

It’s a new day and new blessings are coming my way!

Jesus said, in the scripture reference above, that day provided an opportunity for us to work. An opportunity that we no longer possessed when the night came. He said we must work while it is day, meaning, this opening of time would not always be available for us. This scripture reminds us that something’s are under time restraint. If we walk away from our work today with an attitude of “I will get to that tomorrow,” we may be surprised to find out that while we hesitated and procrastinated the night came. The window of opportunity open to you today may not be available tomorrow.

Daylight is synonymous with vision or sight. Daylight has a certain positive ambience about it. It provides a true picture of what’s before us. When light is available we can work more proficient and efficient on the task at hand. God created the light and commissioned it to break forth in the midst of darkness. He needed light to be available while He worked on the rest of creation. God worked in the light, creating all manner of good things for His glory!

Work implies effort.

Work defined:

  • Activity in which one exerts strength or faculties to do or perform something.

Jesus instructed us that we cannot work in the night but only in the day. Our efforts are only effective when we exert them according to His will and His way. Whatever God has called you to do you must remember to do it while it is still day. Don’t let the Night fall on your Day. Don’t let the night breakthrough and have its way. You are the light shining bright, don’t let the night leap forward and block you way. There is much work in the Kingdom still needing to be done let’s recognize the time we have been allotted and work while the light is still on!

BEHOLD AN OPEN DOOR!

Revelation 3:8

I know your [record of] works and what you are doing. See! I have set before you a door wide open which no one is able to shut; I know that you have but little power, and yet you have kept My Word and guarded My message and have not renounced or denied My name.

God’s plans for your life are amazing. The gifts and callings that He has specifically designed for your earth walk are nothing short of wonderful and glorious. However they are also serious business. God never develops plans and purposes that He doesn’t intend to come to pass. Your presence in the earth today is no mistake or merely coincidental. Oh no my friend, you were strategically placed here for a Divine purpose and it’s time for you to acknowledge that plan and purpose and get down to business. Some of you reading this blog know just what I’m talking about, you’ve played “hooky” and/or been MIA (missing in action) long enough. God needs your active participation in His vineyard. Why are you sitting idle in the field as if there is no Kingdom work to be done? God has set doors for you to walk through at set times in your life. Don’t be lazy and miss your moment of entry or exit through the doors of opportunity God has placed in your path.

You must decide to “keep (God’s) Word and guard (His) message for your life and the lives of those whom He has chosen for you to influence. There are people who need you to mature and develop in your place of purpose. There are people who need the gifts God has placed inside of you. Don’t be afraid! Be strong and courageous. God needs YOU! He’s counting on you. Jesus asked His disciples to pray with Him during a very crucial time in history but they fell asleep right in the middle of the battle. Again, God needs YOU! Please stay awake during this very crucial time, your participation is need in God’s business. Don’t let pass persecutions and afflictions distract and/or keep you from your future obedience. Stop trying to amuse yourself with empty trifles of this life, in an attempt to fill time. Look up! Look up! There is a door open before you that no man can close. A door leading to a room filled with unimaginable opportunities specifically designed with you in mind.

Isaiah 25:1 (AMP)

O Lord, You are my God; I will exalt You, I will praise Your name, for You have done wonderful things, even purposes planned of old [and fulfilled] in faithfulness and truth.

The plans and purposes God has for you can never be aborted by anyone or anything but you. When you and I decide to live by faith (the unseen) and not by what we see we choose to please God. (Hebrews 11:6). It takes faith to walk through new doors and access new opportunities afforded to you by God. It takes strength and courage to have good success in the purposes of God. Shake off the bad attitudes that lead to unfruitful and reckless lives and throw away the old baggage (childish ways etc.) that are worn and no longer useful. “Put on the new man” and suit up for success. You’re on your way to brighter days as you fulfill the purposes of Christ for your life with joy! Just put one foot in front of the other (trust and acknowledge God in all your ways and He will direct your course – Proverbs 3:5-6) and before you know it you will be walking through that open door.

1 John 2:17 (AMP)

And the world passes away and disappears, and with it the forbidden cravings (the passionate desires, the lust) of it; but he who does the will of God and carries out His purposes in his life abides (remains) forever.

Touch-Down

Town-down defined:

• In football, a scoring of six points achieved by being in possession of the ball behind an opponent’s goal line.

The body of Christ is the light of the world. The body of Christ is the salt of the earth. We possess the power of Almighty God to do the greater works of God. The kingdom of God is supreme. We have been endued with the power of the Holy Spirit to be witnesses unto the Lord Jesus Christ. We are an undefeatable body whose head is King of kings and Lord of lords. We are ambassadors for the Kingdom of God and ministers of reconciliation in this world. We are more than conquerors in Christ. We are a unified undefeatable host, a team, a family, a company of true believers united for the cause of Christ.

When a touch-down is made on a football field it took the entire team working together, every member doing their part, to go behind enemy lines and score. Every position is important and significant in the overall strategy to meet the goal. Jesus obtained possession of the ball over thousands of years ago. Jesus then passed the ball to the church and said go! We are now in the field with possession of the ball running through enemy territory toward the goal. We are running with the understanding that no weapon or strategy formed against us shall prosper. We are running with the understanding that we win. The plays have already been designed and orchestrated by El-Elyon, the Most High God. There is an enumerable host of Heavens best standing by to assist whenever needed.

So now that you know the game is fixed, run with enthusiasm and vigor run like you know you already have won.

1 Corinthians 9:24-27 (MSG)

You’ve all been to the stadium and seen the athletes race. Everyone runs; one wins. Run to win. All good athletes train hard. They do it for a gold medal that tarnishes and fades. You’re after one that’s gold eternally.

I don’t know about you, but I’m running hard for the finish line. I’m giving it everything I’ve got. No sloppy living for me! I’m staying alert and in top condition. I’m not going to get caught napping, telling everyone else all about it and then missing out myself.

Light Shines Brightest in Darkness

2Corinthians 4:4

In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.

Have you ever tried to shine light in a room that is already brightly lit. The light has little or no effect because light is already there. However, if you shine the smallest ray of light in a dark room you will see immediate results because light is at it’s greatest function in darkness. Light is the opposite or opposing force of darkness. Light is always effective over darkness. Nothing dispels darkness like light.

The Bible tells us that God is Light and in Him there is no darkness at all. Jesus said, “Ye are the light of the world,” he was talking about Christians. No matter how great the darkness maybe in a place or situation, light can always overcome it. Light is only effective against darkness when it is turned on. No matter how much light you have, if it is turned off or hidden, darkness will continue to prevail. The scriptures remind us to let our light shine before men, why, because the Light is the only power that can set men free. Jesus said, “I am the Light of the world.”The world is hopeless without light because it is dark. If the world had no need of light, why would the body of Christ be here in the Earth. There is no other true light except that which comes from God. The Bible says that Satan transforms himself into an angel of light but this is not true light, it is fake. Fake or artificial light has no effect on darkness. It pretends to bear light fruit but in all actuality the fruit is dead. When you slice open his fruit it is rotten to the core, it looks good on the outside but the inside is corrupt just like it’s source. However, remember the only way to see the corruptness in Satan’s fake fruit is to have the light on because you can’t see anything in darkness.

Let your light shine bright you are a true light-bearer ! Shine! Shine! Shine!
