BE TRUE TO YOURSELF

In a world that everything has become acceptable and blindly tolerable, you must decide and take a stand for what is permissible for you. Be true to yourself by choosing the only standard that will bring a favorable eternal outcome. Being true to yourself means being honest in your own heart. If you are not up to par in your walk with God then just admit it then make the adjustments and grow up and move forward. We all know it is miserable to be out of the will of God. Many times you can see the distress and void on people’s faces. They pretend to be having a good time (spiritually and naturally). They smile yet all the while they are kicking against the pricks of their God given destiny. They try to engage in vain amusements and mind cluttering activities so they won’t have to think about the sorrow and emptiness that press daily on their hearts.

Being true to one self means to stop the facade and get off the roller coaster of worldliness. It means getting down to business with you. It means pointing your own finger in your own face and saying stop, no more pretenses, it’s all or nothing, I choose to go forward.

Being true to yourself means staying with your decision to obey God no matter what anybody else chooses to do.

Being true to yourself means stepping back and letting God take the lead in your life. We can do nothing without God yet we can do all things through Him.

When Love Prevails, the Plans of Your Enemies Fail

God’s Love is a protective force that drives away our enemies. When we veer from the path of love our enemies gets the advantage in our lives and the work of our hands become vulnerable to the devourer. We allow a breach to form in our armor when we forsake love. There is no armor that will protect you from the attacks of darkness when you step outside of love. The enemies of strive, bitterness, hatred, envy, pride, sickness, disease, anger, blame, condemnation, fear, competitive jealousy, low self-esteem, selfishness, delusion, fantasy, procrastination, murmuring, complaining etc. will prevail in our lives when we fail to embrace and demonstrate the Father’s love. The shield of faith can no longer guard you when love is not the governing force in your life. Problems will overtake you when love is not in operation. The cares of life will consume you when you detour from love. You will be overwhelmed and distracted when Love is not your God. Confessions of faith will fail to work for you when you are not living a life totally yielded to the Love of God. The scriptures remind us that love never fails however we fail when we are not submitted to love. Love will protect you and guide you through this life’s journey. It will be your shield and buckler. Love will empower your faith so that mountains that stand tall in your way are gone in a day. Love will protect your marriage and other relationships in your life. Love will strengthen you and assure answers are available when you need them. Love will cause peace to flow like a river in your life and destroy chaos and confusion. Love will overtake and drive out all fear from you. Love will assure that your prayers are answered and stand guard to see your dreams and visions become a reality. Love will never leave or forsake you; it will always be with you and support you. Love will fight your battles of faith and deliver victory to the door step of your life daily. Love is a protective force that is undefeatable. Live for love and let love live through you each and every day.

CONFIDENCE

1John 5:14-15
And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us:
And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.

Confidence defined:
•Belief or trust in somebody or something, or in the ability of somebody or something to act in a proper, trustworthy, or reliable manner.

It is so important for us to have confidence in God. Many people may think that when you become a Christian that this happens automatically but it does not. Human experience can often-times interfere with our confidence. For instance if a person had trust issues prior to being born-again due to failed relationships such as abandonment through divorce or neglect through improper parenting from childhood, it may be difficult not impossible, for them to immediately trust God with every area of their lives. They truly love God but they need detoxifying of their soul (mind, will and emotions) and body from the hurtful incidences of their past. Trust is established through experience. If someone tells you they will be there for you when you need them then when opportunity arises they fail to come through this can cause disappointment which in turn nurtures insecurities and cultivates mistrust. When a baby is born there is a phase of normal growth and development called trust versus mistrust. If trust is to be established in that child’s life they must experience repeated positive interactions with the one in whom the trust is to be established with. This has to be done on a consistent basis to form a sort of bond with the other person. The child learns to trust or mistrust you based on your response to their needs. If you are consistent to come and attend to their needs when they cry they begin to trust and rely on you above all others. When they see your face come into a room they get so excited because they trust you and they know you will protect them, feed them, change them, comfort them, etc. Some of these things you may have never even done for them yet but because of your consistent positive response in other areas of their lives they trust you to be the same regarding new adventures as well.

God is trustworthy. But the best way to establish trust in any relationship is by experience. You can say that you trust God because of what you’ve heard Him do for others but nothing compares to your own experiences with God, they become priceless as you grow and develop in your relationship with God.

Another way that we can begin to develop confidence in God is through consistent meditation in His Word. God’s Word is alive, it is spirit, it is life. The Word of God has the ability to create supernatural knowledge and understanding in your spirit and soul to the point where you begin to know God in ways you have never known Him before through spiritual intimacy and fellowship. This kind of relationship is obtained through spiritual hunger and diligent seeking. His Word creates the bond of trust through the supernatural unveiling of who He is.

Trust and/or confidence promotes dependency. When you trust God you will begin to depend on Him for everything. You will come to Him for anything and involve Him in all things. You begin to understand and take full advantage of His love for you. You know without a shadow of a doubt that He will withhold nothing good from you. You become bold and confident in prayer knowing that your will is to do His will. Your confidence is unshakable concerning the Father. You know that He loves you and that He hears you and that He answers you.

HE STOOPED SO LOW

Philippians 2:7-11 (amp)
But stripped Himself [of all privileges and rightful dignity], so as to assume the guise of a servant (slave), in that He became like men and was born a human being. And after He had appeared in human form, He abased and humbled Himself [still further] and carried His obedience to the extreme of death, even the death of the cross! Therefore [because He stooped so low] God has highly exalted Him and has freely bestowed on Him the name that is above every name, That in (at) the name of Jesus every knee should (must) bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, And every tongue frankly and openly] confess and acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

Jesus destiny did not look pretty from a natural stand point but He completed the course nonetheless. Obedience is the act or practice of following instructions, complying with rules or regulations, or submitting to somebody’s authority. Jesus obedience resulted in death but His death brought life to many through the power of His resurrection. Let us take His example and live our lives in full obedience to the will of the Father and enjoy the benefits of resurrection power!

EAT RIGHT

Jeremiah 15:16
Thy words were found, and I did eat them; and thy word was unto me the joy and rejoicing of mine heart: for I am called by thy name, O LORD God of hosts.

The word of God is nourishment for the whole man. The best meal of our day is not dunkin donuts or bacon and eggs. The best meal of the day is the Word of God. The word of God reaches every realm of our being: spirit, soul and body. God’s word should be the joy and rejoicing of our hearts.
As you search the scriptures today let God’s word enrich and fulfill your every desire.
It is so important that we eat right. We need the right food so that we can grow properly and fulfill our God given Destiny. Be diligent to hear what the Holy Spirit is saying to you in the Word of God today. Let that word sink way down deep into every fiber of your being. As you practice this you will notice an increase in supernatural joy. This Heavenly joy comes from God and it produces supernatural strength, helping you to maintain a steady course in the path God has chosen for your life.
So eat and be filled to the full, even to overflow as you partake of the Word of Life!

Forgetting The Past

Philippians 3:13-14
Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.

Forget defined:
• Neglecting, no longer caring for.
• Forgotten, given over to oblivion, i.e. uncared for.

When someone chooses to forget they choose to: not remember, to stop thinking about, to put out of your mind, to disregard, to put behind you, to overlook and not recall.

You neglect or refuse to give any attention or care to that which you choose to forget.

You don’t nurse it or feed it, you don’t cuddle it or comfort it; you totally neglect it. If you neglect something long enough it will die. Stop sympathizing and nourishing thoughts of rejection. Stop cuddling the wrong treatment you received in the past, it no longer has significance in your life. Stop remembering and rehearsing your past, let it go, starve it out. Don’t prop it up on a mantle for all to see who walk by but sit it out for the trash man to pick up on garbage day. Yes, they did hurt you, as a matter of fact they hurt you numerous times but you must get your eyes off them and redirect your focus to Jesus. Love voids out all suffered wrongs and lets God be the Judge and Jury. Love doesn’t plot on how to get even but rather meditates on ways to bless its enemies and do good to those who despitefully use them.

There is power in love to forget. Love not only empowers one to forget but also to forgive. The Love of God that has been shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Spirit destroys also the effects of the past. It can root out, pull down and destroy everything connected to the past; as it then builds and plants that which provides a bright prosperous future.

Many times it may seem difficult or even down- right impossible to forget the past because many times we see residuals of it every day. You may sometimes see the person who hurt you on a daily basis. You may sometimes have to interact daily with the one who betrayed you and disregarded prior commitments to you. You may have to work with co-workers who have in times past persecuted you and treated you harshly. You may have to communicate with a spouse who was unfaithful and trampled under feet your marriage covenant. You may have to continually deal with a relative who has wronged you but promises it will never happen again yet they never seem to change from their evil ways. All of these things and more can cause a person to think that forgetting the past is impossible but nothing is impossible with God.

When we choose to forget the past it is not based on what someone else does or does not do. Forgetting the past is trusting God. The people, places and things of your past may never change but that doesn’t mean you have to stay trapped back there with them. When you chose to obey the word of God: forgiving and forgetting, you release your own heart from captivity and prove that you trust God. Our future is bright when we keep a steady gaze on Jesus; the author and finisher of our faith.

FACE the BOOK

Face+book!

Face defined:
• To be positioned or turn so that the face or front side is directed a particular way or toward something or somebody.

Hebrews 12:2-3 (AMP)
Looking away [from all that will distract] to Jesus, Who is the Leader and the Source of our faith [giving the first incentive for our belief] and is also its Finisher [bringing it to maturity and perfection]. He, for the joy [of obtaining the prize] that was set before Him, endured the cross, despising and ignoring the shame, and is now seated at the right hand of the throne of God. Just think of Him Who endured from sinners such grievous opposition and bitter hostility against Himself [reckon up and consider it all in comparison with your trials], so that you may not grow weary or exhausted, losing heart and relaxing and fainting in your minds.

We live in a world that has many distractions and alluring attractions. This could be very detrimental for Christians that lack disciple. When we neglect to cultivate the fruit of discipline in our lives we open our lives to be controlled by the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eye and the pride of life. These three things operating in a person’s life will only produce misery and sorrow.
The scripture above says look away from all these things that will distract you and then look to Jesus. When a person turns from something it doesn’t automatically mean they will turn to something better. The bible teaches us what to turn from and what to turn to. Turning is a voluntary movement, which means you must participate; God will not do it for you.
We must endeavor to stay spiritually sound and full of the word of God so that we can recognize and distinguish a distraction from the main attraction (which is Jesus. When Christian’s allow themselves to become spiritually dull they lack the sensitivity to discern worldly distraction from Heavenly attractions.
God wants us to keep our focus on Jesus. The way that we accomplish that is by facing the Book. The book that I am referring to is the Word of God.

James 1:25 declares, “But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.

The Word of God will keep our lives clean from the defiling distractions of this world. The Word of God will keep our motives pure and our heart comment to the cause of Christ. The word of God keeps our focus on the right things. Christian’s who keep their face in the book don’t use corrupt communication. Christian’s who keep their face in the book don’t gossip and slander. Christian who keep their face in the book imitate Jesus, they look like him in the storms of life. Christian’s who keep their face in the book are pleasant to be around. Christian’s who keep their face in the book live to honor God. Christian’s who keep their face in the book are not trying to find the next weak prey to defile with fornication or adultery. Christian’s who keep their face in the book continue to look up because they know that their redemption draws near.

So turn from every distraction and FACE the BOOK, in it there is life!

SABOTAGED

Sabotage defined:
• To damage, destroy, or disrupt something deliberately, especially in a war.
• To hinder something; to undermine or destroy somebody’s efforts or achievements.

Other words similar to sabotage are: damage, disrupt, interfere with, interrupt, harm, incapacitate, and impair.

Have you ever heard of someone sabotaging someone’s promotion or sabotaging a marriage or sabotaging the plans to a big project, etc? Well, when you hear the word sabotage you can’t help but to think, “They did it on purpose”. When someone sabotages something it was generally pre-meditated. In order to successfully destroy something you need to know something about what you want to destroy. If you wanted to destroy a tall building you would not walk up to it with a plastic bat and start hitting it. No, you would want to know what it was made of so that you could bring the right equipment to bring it down. If you were serious you would not waste your time on things that would not cause destruction.

The bible says in John 10:10, “The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.”

Whether you want to admit it or not you and I have a serious enemy. He is not playing ring around the roses with us. His intention is to sabotage your entire life, little by little if need be. The enemy does not mistakenly cause persecution or afflictions to come your way, no, his does it deliberately. He wants to take your head right off. However notice in the scripture John 10:10, Jesus said, “The thief cometh.” Jesus did not say the thief destroyeth. Just because he comes to steal, kill and destroy doesn’t mean he will. Jesus gave His church power over all the power of the enemy and that nothing by any means would hurt us (Luke 10:19).

1Peter 5:8 declares, “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: “

This lets us know that the devil cannot devour whomever he desires but he seeks for potential prospects. If we stay sober and continue to be vigilant he cannot harm us. The word vigilant means: watchful and alert, especially to guard against danger, difficulties, or errors.

We must remain on guard at all times, never sleeping (spiritually) or slumbering. We are not helpless prey or sitting ducks, just waiting on our turn to be the next victim for him to devour………the devil is a liar! Be strong in the Lord, my brother and my sister, God will not allow your adversary to triumph over you.

Psalms 34:19 says, “Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the LORD delivereth him out of them all.”

You are a child of the Most High God, put your spiritual armor on and pursue your enemy and bring destruction to his kingdom. Sabotage his plans and purposes, crushing them to mere dust particles that evaporate in the wind. Bind the strong man and deliberately spoil his goods. It’s time to disrupt the enemy’s plans and bring un-repairable damage to his evil accomplices. You have an advantage over the kingdom of darkness, you have been raised up with Christ seated in Heavenly places, ruling and reigning with the KING OF KINGS and LORD OF LORDS!

Progress Precipitates Persecution

2Timothy 3:11-12
Persecutions, afflictions, which came unto me at Antioch, at Iconium, at Lystra; what persecutions I endured: but out of them all the Lord delivered me. Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.

Whenever you take steps of obedience toward the plan and purposes God has for your life it won’t be long before persecution arises for the Word sake. Gods will for every born-again believer is that we grow and mature in His ways and accomplish His plan for our lives. However, God knows that when we pursue with the intent to do and follow through with His every instruction, mental, physical and spiritual assaults will come against His people. But, fear not, for Jesus foretold us that in this world we would have tribulation but be of good cheer He has already over come it and deprived it of power to harm us. God knew the things we would have to face in this earth so He saw to it that we would have everything we needed to win. God did not leave us without help as a matter of fact He did not leave us at all, He is with us in the person of the Holy Spirit who is the one that will abide with us forever.

Progress is good but not without challenges. The enemy will always challenge the believer’s authority to see if you will back down or not. He challenged Jesus’ authority in the wilderness during His earthly temptation. He also challenged Jesus during different seasons of His life and ministry, as recorded in the scriptures.
The word precipitate means to make something happen suddenly and quickly. This is our enemies strategy to try to catch us off guard and over take us with the element of surprise. However, he is defeated and we are not ignorant of his devices. We have an advantage over every trap and scheme of the enemy. We are not unarmed but rather fully equipped with the whole armor of God. We can withstand him, not in our own strength and ability but by our Heavenly Father’s grace, which is sufficient for us to win every battle and walk away from every fight victoriously triumphant.

Be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Don’t be weary in well doing but make progress going full steam ahead. These test and trials are light afflictions and are not worthy of your focus and/or meditation. Rise up and shake the dust from this world off you and be the victorious king and/or priest God has called you to be. Take your place, run your race with all diligence and honor. Every step you take forward in the plan of God is a demonstration of resurrection power and life that glorifies God.

LIFTING UP THE STANDARD

Isaiah 59: 19-21
So shall they fear the name of the LORD from the west, and his glory from the rising of the sun. When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the LORD shall lift up a standard against him. And the Redeemer shall come to Zion, and unto them that turn from transgression in Jacob, saith the LORD. As for me, this is my covenant with them, saith the LORD; My spirit that is upon thee, and my words which I have put in thy mouth, shall not depart out of thy mouth, nor out of the mouth of thy seed, nor out of the mouth of thy seed’s seed, saith the LORD, from henceforth and for ever.

It may seem like sometimes that the enemy has the upper hand on you but don’t quit, the battle is not over, God has the last word. Sometimes you can hear the enemies of your destiny and faith laughing at you as if they have conquered and you are defeated. However their laughter will turn to their own demise. Every device that the enemy tries to bring against you is powerless to harm you. Lift up your head and be encouraged, God is on your side and He will not fail you. Don’t agree with the words of the enemy that he has sent to steal, kill and destroy from you.. You are not a failure. You are not defeated. You are not a nothing or a nobody. Don’t believe a word Satan says, he is a liar. You are the head and not the tail, above only and not beneath. You are more than a conqueror through Christ that loves you. Put God’s word in your mouth and speak life in the mist of troubling storms and dark clouds of despair. People may be looking at you waiting on you to go down, cave in and quit but you are not a quitter. Tell those spectators to keep looking because they will see the glory of God manifest in your life. You’re not down and you’re definitely not out, so keep on stepping in the direction of your Divine Destiny and don’t be moved by the light afflictions that come to try and get you off course. Just know that the joy of the Lord is your strength and the word of God ,which is your standard, is your sword. You can’t lose with that combination. You are a winner in Christ. Lift up the standard and tell the enemy it is written, “no weapon formed against me shall prosper.” Lift up a standard and tell the enemy it is written, “By Jesus stripes I am healed.” Lift up a standard and tell the enemy, it is written, “Greater is He that is in me than he that is in the world.” Go ahead walk in your authority and maintain the victory through Christ our Redeemer!
